Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2)
Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets (Book 2) | J.K. Rowling
In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the summer after Harrys first year at Hogwarts has been his worst summer ever the Dursleys more distant and horrible than ever before. But just as hes packing his bags to return to school, a creature named Dobby the house-elf announces that if Harry goes back to Hogwarts, disaster will strike. And it turns out, Dobby is right. Harry and Ron miss the Hogwarts Express, so they fly to school in a blue Ford Anglia, crash landing in the notorious Whomping Willow. Soon other worries accumulate: the outrageously stuck-up new professor Gilderoy Lockhart; a ghost named Moaning Myrtle, who haunts the girls' bathroom; the strange behavior of Ron's little sister, Ginny Weasley; rumors about the "Chamber of Secrets," a cavern buried deep below Hogwarts; and a magical diary owned by Tom Riddle, a Hogwarts student of long ago. Harry is also shocked to discover that he can speak Parseltongue, the language of snakes - a rare ability that Lord Voldemort also possessed - and that anti-Muggle prejudice exists in the Wizarding world, even affecting Harry's friend Hermione. But all of these seem like minor concerns when someone starts turning Hogwarts students to stone: an evildoer said to be the fearsome Heir of Salazar Slytherin, on of the founders of the school. Could it be Draco Malfoy, Harry's most poisonous rival? Could it be Hagrid whose mysterious past is finally told? Or could it be the one person everyone at Hogwarts most suspects: Harry Potter himself?

Speculative fiction. This is the second book in the Harry Potter series. It is about Harry's second year at Hogwarts and it is just as exciting as the first. Again the book really brings you into the world that has been created and you feel like you yourself are a part of the story.

This book further exemplifies JK Rowling‘s world building abilities. Once again, even without illustrations the reader is able to imagine what the world looks like, sounds like, and feels like.

The second book of seven in this series continues the excellence of the first. While this book has a slightly darker feel to it, it is still a great book for children to read. The main characters themselves are still only children, so young readers feel connected.

Moving on to the next book. I remember reading this one as a kid by nightlight after I was supposed to be asleep and getting freaked out when he started hearing the voices. I don't remember why I thought it was so scary, but I was 8 so I guess it didn't take much to frighten me. Haha
Very enjoyable to reread. Again lots of foreshadowing hidden in plain sight. Recommend.

8-10-22: My 77th finished book of 2022! Book 2 of the series. It‘s year 2 for Harry, Ron and Hermione. When people become petrified, they hear of a legend called the Chamber of Secrets. Is it real and can they find it? With their usual rule breaking the trio slowly figure out what they are up against but it is up to Harry to save the day. We meet lots of new characters in this second book and revisit the originals as well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️📖#️⃣7️⃣7️⃣

Bk6 of June & #BigJuneReadathon & Bk3 of #JoysOfJune #readathon is done! Another #comfortread on audiobook, it‘s the 2nd Potterverse story. I really love the audio read by Stephen Fry as he has such an expressive voice which makes for a very enjoyable listen. I‘m sure you all know the story by now, Dobby the house elf, the flying car & Gilderoy Lockhart all make their debut in this one. #BookspinBingo #SeriesRead2022 #AudiobookChallenge2022

I‘ve been told that reading to a baby when he/she is in the whom and is able to hear is good for them. So my baby girl and I have been listening to the HP series. ☺️ We will of course be reading it again after she‘s born and is old enough to understand what‘s going on, but for now we‘re enjoying the audiobooks.

Harry Potter enters his second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry after a horrific summer with the Dursleys. Harry meets a little house elf named Dobby, whose predictions become true. There is whispers throughout the hallways and attacks on students start happening, they are frozen, as if turned into stone. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in exploring a magical world.

AgusM If you like thrilling adventures, humorous moments and mysterious experiences then this surely is the book for you! The whole series of Harry Potter is written in third person limited point of view because they tell the story through Harry Potter‘s perspective. They use pronouns such as “he”, “she” and “they”. 11mo

This book is my favorite of the Harry Potter movies and I‘m happy to say I loved the book equally as much, if not more! I liked reading more about the ghosts, who had been cut from the movies for insignificance to the plot. I mostly enjoyed the last five chapters and reading more in depth about Tom Riddle‘s past, as it gave me a better understanding of the character. Overall I felt like the movie did a great job recreating the book!

I was able to finish the book and I am going to be honest there where times I was confused. Don't get me wrong, the book was amazing. Every page was existing and it was still a real page turner. I was a little confused at the end of the book. How did a diary come to life? and open the chamber the hypnotising kids? after I watched the movie the book made more sense to me. I feel like the movie left out a lot of key parts that happened in the movie

21sam.murray E.G. Nearly Headless Nicks birthday party was not in the movie, and I think that would have been a great part to put in the movie. personally I liked the book better than the movie because it had a lot more detail than the movie. in the book the POV of the story is 3rd Person limited omniscient. I like mystery books like this. I like that there is magic with every book. overall I give this book 8/10. 11mo
MissYaremcio Sam this review was a little scattered? I would have liked you to go more in depth as to what happens in the book for the summary and how the POV is established (like what character or pronouns are used). 4.5/6 11mo

First book of 2022 read on 1/4! This may be a record for me. I've read Chamber several times in the past, but it's been several years since the last time I read it. It's interesting how different things are from the movie. I would pretty much always prefer the movies to follow the books exactly (even if it ends up being six hours long, that's what intermission is for!), but I understand why certain scenes are different in this case. #harrypotter
