Love the cover 😈

The Woman in Me | Britney Spears
Pickpick

There are many things I took away from this book. First off, let ms start by saying this book was wonderfully written. It is a very sad and tragic story of an icon and what she faced at the hands of her family however, it is also a story of triumph and resilience.
Overall I loved this book and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a great read.

My cousin recommended this book to me after we watched “Beautiful Boy” on Prime.

CBee It‘s a good one - painful, but good. The book “Beautiful Boy” is also really powerful 💚 4mo
Booksandtea23 @CBee it seems really interesting. I grew up reading a lot of books by Ellen Hopkins so it‘s interesting to read someone‘s first hand experience and not a work of fiction. 4mo
CBee @Paristhesavvyreader I haven‘t read anything by Hopkins, but her books do look interesting! 4mo

So over the weekend I binged watched Severance. Such a good show 😊

I love how this show really makes you think of the work culture in society. Definitely gives Black Mirror vibes.

I highly recommend it if you like them sci-fi/thriller genre.

“And isn‘t it remarkable how love can be found again. That new lives can come together and start something that might be even better than what was lost. It‘s like love is always with us. Like it‘s simply floating in the atmosphere and we just have to walk through it and breathe it in again.”

Stone Blind: A Novel | Natalie Haynes

“You aren‘t monsters Medusa said.
Neither are you. Who decides what is a monster?
I don‘t know said Medusa. Men I suppose.
So to mortal men we are monsters.
Because of our teeth, our flight, our strength they fear us so they call us monsters.”

Hi Litsy Fam I wanted to ask your opinion on reading. My boyfriend and I have been debating on whether Audiobooks are still considered reading. He believes listing to audiobooks is not considered a form of reading because you are not the pages if a book. Would you mind sharing your opinions on this?

Much appreciated 😌

DGRachel Audiobooks are a form of reading - it‘s another way to absorb a story and one that opens books up to people who are visually impaired or may have other challenges that make reading a physical book impossible. 6mo
julesG I agree with what @DGRachel wrote. It's definitely reading. 6mo
Deblovestoread Definitely reading! 6mo
Quirkybookworm Put it this way, if you‘re reading a book out loud to kids, what do you call that? 6mo
Booksandtea23 Thank you everyone for all of the responses and proving my point 😌 6mo

Funny fact I received my first Harry Potter book when I was 8 as a gift from my uncle. He gifted me with “The Chamber of Secrets”. This book has a special place in my heart because it opened me up to the magical world of Hogwarts 💙

Yellowface | R F Kuang
Pickpick

Have you ever had a frenemie that you can‘t shake? Well that is definitely the case for June Hayward (Juniper Song) and Athena Liu. I enjoyed the perspective of the “villain” in this story as you are able to asses her motives. The themes of plagiarism, what is diversity and inclusion is what made this story very compelling. I liked that June was not a “likeable” character and she owned that about herself until the very end.
