I needed to read a book turned into a movie for a book bingo I‘m participating in and decidedly to give this one a go, not expecting to enjoy it much because I love the movie but I was wrong! It was equally as good as the movie and now I can‘t wait to read the rest of the series. And It completed my bingo row. Fun times!
#songsofsummer #summertimeblues @OriginalCyn620 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks What better way to celebrate summer than with these great summery books by Ann Brashares? A group of girls can miraculously all fit into the same pair of jeans and so, to stay connected throughout their summertime adventures, they share the pants. Really cute books🤗
Coming from a place and community where arranged marriages are a way of life and completely normal, I understand Lena's exasperation. 'Love marriages' are usually frowned upon and considered as western culture by conservative Indians. I'm not trying to generalize over here but it's definitely not uncommon.
BTW, I'm loving this book!
I know I must have read this as a teen but after finishing a re-read (?) of it today, now I‘m not sure. Either way, I thoroughly enjoyed myself! In fact, I originally picked this up because I am reading a much more emotionally draining book at the moment and needed something to lighten the mood. Well, didn‘t you know- I got hooked and ended up putting that other book aside while I finished this one first!
Read this for the POPSUGAR Reading Challenge (as a lot of the books I read this year will be!) the prompt was “a book with an item of clothing or accessory on the cover.” I have always wanted to read this book and found that it was okay. Cute story but not very fulfilling.
Experienced ALL the high school feels throwing it back to The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and chatting about it with awesome teacher and bookstagrammer Katie Hartman (@katiefullybooked). There‘s so much more to this story than I realized — questions of sex, depression, death, blended familes, and more — PLUS (obviously) great friendships, romances, and a cool pair of jeans. Check out the link in my bio to listen! 🎧
Ahhhhh 😍 after like ten years (okaybe just ten weeks) of pestering her, my sister finally joined Litsy! She loves books, and is the coolest person I know. The only person in my life who understands my literate talk, my love for books, and my heart for all other things. I love you Sissybear!!!
Please go follow and welcome her! Tag good accounts to follow! :) ❤️ #litsywelcomewagon #welcomewagon #newlitten @BooksyRose
Reread one of my favorite books from my high school years.
Day 19: Book Series That You Love #juneinbooks18
Since it‘s almost summer, I think this is a great series to read during this season. What‘s your go to genre for the summer time?

Since there are two of these floating around I decided to combined them!
🌦 Beasts of Extraordinary Circumstance
✈️ Sisterhood of the traveling pants
🌿 the beginning of fruits and veggies season!
📖 The Immoralists
🥚 almost all books with Christmas related chapters 😍🎄
🦋 yes- but keeping it low key this year
🌿 usually cut flowers- but I love both!
📖 short stories: 💕💕
Thanks @CSeydel for posting!
Well, went through that fast lol. I see now why I loved this as a teenager - because I could relate to all four girls in some way, even though they are all so different. Re-reading this also taught me something sad, and it's that I've outgrown this book. I am happy to be able to give another young girl the chance to love this book (*series) as much as I did.

This used to be one of my all-time favorite books as a kid, so I was a little wary upon rereading it. It might be part nostalgia, but I still really liked this book! Especially the characters feel so real and sweet, and are still pretty relatable to me.
Day 10: Summer Snack #augustlibrary17
Popcorn is one of my favorite summer snacks. My husband and I go to the movies a lot, especially in the summer, and of course there's popcorn there. But my best friend just introduced me to Skinny Pop popcorn and it is so good!! What's your go-to summer snack?

I have done a terrible job of keeping up with #jubilantjuly! I'm just going to sneak a few catch-up posts in today and pretend I didn't miss the entire middle of the month. 😳
This series was my first thought for #bestbuds. I love the way the friendships are portrayed--both the group as a whole as well as individual friendships between all the four girls. Thinking about it makes me want to do a re-read!
Day 25: A character who you can relate to the most.
This one is hard because I haven't read a lot of books where I can relate to the main character. So for this one I choose Lena from The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. She's shy/timid and likes to keep to herself but also loves her best friends. Which character do you relate to the most?

#SWEETSUMMERSTACK @Liberty I had a hard time choosing just one book that reminds me of summer, but these two take the cake! Both books I feel like I devoured them too quickly and I want to wipe them from my mind so I can read them anew! #seventearsintothesea #summerloving
When I was in 11th grade my reading class had to choose a "book turned movie" for a project. I wanted to read The Sisterhood of the Traveling ?, but my teacher made me choose between Wuthering Heights and Tess of D'Ubervilles because "I have so much more potential" ? So I never did get around to reading it and resented Wuthering Heights. Might need to read/reread both for some healing ?
