Saturday night.

Started this one today. So sappy and lovesick for a Stiefvater novel, but I‘m still fun and engaging. I‘m very interested to see how I‘ll feel once I‘m finished.

Blh87 I actually really liked this series...cheese and all. 3w

I wanted to like this book so much more than I did. The first half dragged on and on, and definitely could have benefitted from some additional editing. The story picked up in the second half though, and by the end I was definitely invested in what happened to Bo and the rest of Berkshire Academy.

This book has been on my shelves forever because I thought it was a fae story. I was wrong. It‘s a beautiful tale of love and family with a delightful addition of magical realism. I loved it.

I wish the pages within were as stunning as the cover. For a novel under 300 pages the story seemed to drag on and repeat itself. I did enjoy the final few chapters of the book‘s climax, though I won‘t be picking up book 2.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ I enjoyed this followup to Starflight, but not as much as I hoped I would. I think it was due to the fact that we switch to following two side characters from the original novel and I just wasn‘t as invested in their story. Still a fun space adventure!

This was a reread for me, but it‘s been nearly 3 years and I didn‘t remember much. Such a fun story filled with romance, adventure, space pirates and conspiracies! Planning to pick up book 2 for my Potions final. #OWLsReadathon2018

Needless songs aside, I enjoyed the story. The Peter Jackson adaptation is awesome, but I loved the extra details and character development. It‘s not without flaws - I think in today‘s editing world it would (and should) be trimmed down a bit, but overall a great adventure. 4🌟

I‘m not a fan of all the songs and poems (which is why I haven‘t attempted LOTR until now after reading the Hobbit years ago), but I actually really love this one.

I‘m really enjoying following along in my physical copies while listening to the audiobook. I think I will consume all three this way.

It was my dad‘s favorite story and I have fond memories of him sitting in the living room nursing his old beat up copies, enjoying is rereads over and over. I‘ve decided 2019 is the year I will read all of the Sherlock stories. Most of these will be new to me as I only have memories of reading The Hound of the Baskervilles in my youth, however I expect some to be familiar given my love of the BBC series.

Even though they are short stories, the prose is dense and I‘m reading them slowly. Here‘s hoping I can stick to one story a week🤞🏻

Anyone else in the US spend the day binge watching A Discovery of Witches while drinking tea or wine?

I have to say, I‘m pretty pleased with the adaptation. I feel it‘s fairly faithful to the source material while adding new dimensions to the story. I only read the book about 8 months ago, so the story is pretty fresh in my mind, and yet I still found myself on the edge of my seat awaiting what was coming. Looking forward to seasons 2&3!

DGRachel Where is it airing? I‘m not even sure I can access it. 😔 6mo
dizie_lizie @DGRachel it‘s streaming on either SundanceNow or Shudder. Both of them have a free trial for 7 days, and all 8 episodes are available at once so it should be easy to binge without having to actually pay any subscription fees. 6mo

Starting off 2019 with the clunker - 742 pages. This one has been on my tbr for a while, but I‘ve been putting it off because of just how big it is and the fact I‘ve never read anything from either of these authors. With the excitement of starting a new Goodreads challenge comes the determination to knock off a tome like this right out of the gate!💪🏻
