Jayber Crow: A Novel | Wendell Berry
post image

This is the first Wendell Berry that I‘ve read but certainly not my last as I loved this tale of Jayber Crow, the bachelor barber of Port William, Kentucky. Jayber lives his life on the sidelines with such grace and I enjoyed his observations and ruminations on the day to day life of the town and on the grand scheme of the universe. A quiet but beautiful read! #J #LitsyAtoZ2019

kspenmoll Great review! 1w

For #J I give you a bio on Joss Whedon. The man who made Buddy and Firefly possible.

#30JuneBooks #J is for my love for P.D.James. I read most of her books after ‘graduating‘ from Agatha Christie a very long time ago. I plan to reread them and so have been slowly collecting her books.

Cathythoughts I‘ve never read PD James. Which one will I start with ? Please & thankyou X 2mo
jenniferw88 @Cathythoughts it depends on which series you want. Adam Galgliesh is the more well-nown and has more books, the first is 2mo

jenniferw88 @Cathythoughts Both Death Comes to Pemberley & Innocent Blood are stand-alones - there may be more but these are the ones I'm aware of as not being part of a series. 2mo
jenniferw88 @Cathythoughts as you may be able to tell, I'm a huge fan. The tagged book got me into her (doesn't help that the cover is gorgeous!) 2mo
erzascarletbookgasm @Cathythoughts I‘m a sucker for reading a series in order, so start with the tagged book for Adam Dalgliesh (Inspector and a poet!) or like @jenniferw88 said, An Unsuitable Job for a Woman for Cordelia Gray series. (edited) 2mo
erzascarletbookgasm @jenniferw88 the other stand alone novel is The Children Of Men 👍 2mo
Cathythoughts Thankyou so much , I have tagged book stacked 👍🏻♥️& Thankyou @jenniferw88 I have loads of info to go on now !! Your 2 star bars 😘😘 2mo

Because I just got home from a Town Council meeting and would rather read than run up and down stairs collecting books to photograph, here‘s all the #J titles from my home library of actual print books. (I‘m sure I have some ebooks too, like Jude the Obscure comes to mind.) #30Junebooks @howjessreads
