Earl Grey Macaroon tea and trying to get two more books down this year so I can make my reading goal - I knew I was going to be insanely busy this year so I had a modest goal of 20 books (not including any texts or study/research related books) and I‘m sitting at 18.

This was my first Stephen King - and I really loved it. The short stories made it easy to have this be my nightstand book where I could come home and have a little treat before bed every night. My favorite story was The Dreamers. I‘ll definitely be reading more from him in the coming year.

Wrapped up this Krampus/Christmas novella. I loved this - it was exactly what you want in a short story. Enough detail to keep you engaged, but not so much detail there are loose ends left unresolved once you reach the last page.

Another Estate Sale treasure from yesterday, a beautiful illustrated edition of Animal Farm - missing the dust jacket but fantastic illustrations.

Look at what I found tucked in a closet at an Estate Sale this morning - I don‘t even know if these were ever read. 🤩

I‘m reading Jane Eyre for the first time and who knows, it could all work out for her I‘m only in the 28th chapter, but this woman has got me so annoyed just up and leaving in the middle of the night only taking some bread and cheese, absentmindedly leaving all her earthly possessions in the stage coach like this, torturing herself with the idea of never seeing him again all as she sleeps under a rock.

just making a note for anyone interested in this book - i have about 30 pages left but needed to take a minute to point out this is NOT a retelling of The Headless Horseman. This has a completely different plot and story even though it uses The Headless Horsemen motif - don‘t go into this thinking it will be a retelling.

Am kind of low key obsessed with these vintage mass market paperbacks.

Tossing out a vibes board for the #NaughtyListHolidaySwap this year - although I think these are my vibes throughout a lot of the year.

Even after finishing this I can‘t find it in myself to be upset by this trailer. First, how could Wuthering Heights be anything but a love story? Yes, there are other prominent themes but Heathcliff‘s entire existence and every choice he makes is this relationship. Was he troubled and cruel? Yes. But please remember to question the reliability of the narrator who has clear and biased options on everyone since they were children, this does change

I wanted to be angry with everyone so I started to listen to this at work (don‘t come for me I‘m slacking on some of the classics) and I‘m about 20 chapters in and am really loving it. And maybe I need to wait to finish the book and/or rewatch this trailer again…but the trailer hasn‘t really given me an ounce of rage so far…in fact, unpopular opinions but…

My next read - first publication of this was by Page Street Publishing Co. They‘re not too far from here in Salem, MA.

Not sure I‘ll hit my reading goal for this year, but I‘m trying to get a few more under my belt now that I‘m not in crunch mode for a license exam.

Pretty quick read - kind of leave you interested and wishing there was more once you reached the end. But everything really came together nicely and I didn‘t really feel like there was any large unresolved lingering pieces. And I loved at the end we get extra insight to all the characters, a play list and some nightcaps to enjoy as you pick out the next book off your TBR shelf (shelves, let‘s be honest).

This is the Modern Library Books 1953 Edition of Salinger‘s Nine Stories - minimal wear for its age.

Am looking to start using some archival sleeves for my prized books - has anyone ever used Brodart covers before? I‘ve never really thought about using them before but I do have some antique first editions that could probably benefit from some more protection.

This is the Bantam Edition published in October 1964, 3rd printing of Salinger‘s Nine Stories.

Started cataloging my library recently, I have a decent collection of modern, vintage and rare books and have started picking up some really fantastic editions and printings at Estate Sales this summer. Will show y‘all as I keep cataloging.

Scrolling through these filters wondering which one will make all this dog hair the least noticeable.

Next read - following with the mushroom cover theme, just wrapped up What Stalks the Deep and now this cute little novella.

Took one more sick day from work today for a little more rest. I have a woodwick candle flickering, cafe sweets scent swirling through the room, a protein chocolate cold brew and the next installment of #WhatMovesTheDead.

As you can see my ARC copy has definitely seen better days and I‘m glad this was the copy I was reading by the pool instead of my signed B&N Exclusive edition I have on the way! I loved this story - though I wish we would have found out more about some of the side characters this was a fun and spooky read to kick off this season.

I ended up packing this as a vacation book to read and devoured it before the plane landed - it was a short book to be fair! But if you‘ve ever read Blake Crouch then you‘re familiar with how immersive his books can be - I just couldn‘t stop reading. It may not have been my favorite of his works but I would recommend it!

Had so much fun picking out items for the #AllHallowsReadSwap & #ModernWitchSwap this year. Going to get these guys in the mail soon!

Was really tough trying to lay this out in one picture! I opened my #FFFS and it was packed with goodies from @TheBookHippie 😍 shelled pistachios are the best, I really do have to say! This is the second book I brought on vacation with me and I am absolutely loving it! I‘ve been happily floating in a pool with my book and my coffee this whole vacation.

I can‘t wait to see what everyone choosing it for their #BOTM thinks because they‘ll have early access to it too!

Most of us do this, I suppose. But do you ever feel like the guilt of not reading from your TBR but continuing to add to it will suffocate you…and then you wonder what you‘re even doing in your free time that doesn‘t allow you the luxury?

LOOOK what I got my hands on!! Trying not to stop the book I just started to start this one. 🫠📚

My #BOTM box came while I was on vacation over the weekend! I‘m so excited to get into this because of all the hype around it! This was an add-on book for me and my main book choice was “The Names” because I really love a good dystopian story. Kind of bummed I couldn‘t get the cover straight on without missing out on the edges of this beauty!

I really liked this little novella - this can be read as a standalone without losing anything by not having read the first book (📖 #WhatMovesTheDead ). The cover art is a stunner again, I love all the art associated with this series so far. I‘m really getting into T. Kingfisher and this series is a great intro if you‘re curious also.

Airport read, seeing as how I only made it 5 pages before being interrupted the last time I opened this baby, I‘m hoping to be able to both start and finish it during this long weekend in Dallas.
