The Woman in Suite 11
The Woman in Suite 11 | Ruth Ware
In this gripping follow-up to bestselling author Ruth Ware's multi-million-copy mega-hit The Woman in Cabin 10 - coming soon to Netflix, starring Keira Knightley - Lo Blacklock returns to attend the opening of a luxury hotel, only to find herself in a white-knuckled race across Europe. When the invitation to attend the press opening of a luxury Swiss hotel - owned by reclusive billionaire Marcus Leidmann - arrives, it's like the answer to a prayer. Three years after the birth of her youngest child, Lo Blacklock is ready to re-establish her journalism career, but post-pandemic travel journalism is a very different landscape from the one she left ten years ago. The chateau on the shores of Lake Geneva is everything Lo's ever dreamed of, and she hopes she can snag an interview with Marcus. Unfortunately, he proves to be even more difficult to pin down than his reputation suggests. When Lo gets a late-night call asking her to come to Marcus's hotel room, she agrees despite her own misgivings. She's greeted, however, by a woman claiming to be Marcus's mistress, and in life-or-death jeopardy. What follows is a thrilling cat-and-mouse pursuit across Europe, forcing Lo to ask herself just how much she's willing to sacrifice to save this woman...and if she can even trust her? Praise for Ruth Ware: 'A rocket ride that will satisfy the biggest thriller addicts out there' DAVID BALDACCI 'Deliciously dark and utterly addictive' LUCY FOLEY 'A breathless action thriller which packs an emotional punch' CLARE MACKINTOSH 'Hits the ground running and doesn't let up till the last chapter' ERIN KELLY 'Every Ruth Ware novel is a unique and unexpected gem and this one is no exception. A heady, tense, slowburn dream of a book, multi-layered and steeped in atmosphere and peril. I loved every page' LISA JEWELL 'Absolutely brilliant murder mystery - seamless, flawless, perfectly clued and utterly gripping' SOPHIE HANNAH 'Impeccably crafted and totally compulsive - you'll be sad to reach the final page and realise you have to say goodbye' JP DELANEY

It‘s been a hot minute since I read The Woman in Cabin 10, and I was a bit worried that some of this might be lost on me, but there were recaps on the characters and events from the first book. It was a fun ride! Although it may have been a bit too long and most people could probably figure out the whodunnit (at least partially), I still enjoyed it.

LiteraryinPA That‘s really helpful to know that I don‘t have to reread Woman in Cabin 10 beforehand. I was feeling daunted! 3w

Mehso-so

The cast of characters were few so I trusted Lo to not be among the guilty. Lo makes decisions so bad that her character could easily star in a Hallmark mystery movie series. It was all so hokey but that didn‘t stop me from wanting to know the resolution. It was okay - another author I just can‘t quit.

This was longer than it needed to be, but it finally picked up halfway through. Some lines felt repeated, and the protagonist got on my nerves sometimes. Usually, I like this author's works. This one went on too long. The extra twists became tiresome rather than thrilling.

Mehso-so

This is a low so-so. It was my least favorite Ruth Ware novel to date. I've loved all of her other work. But the women in this book were whiney, witless, and annoying, and I did not have the patience for it. Maybe it was better in print than audio. I love Imogen Church, but she can't do a New York American accent. The audio was over 15 hours long, and I slogged through it, leaving me disappointed.

Susanita Yeah, problems with accents take me right out of the story. 1mo
ChaoticMissAdventures I have found I am falling away from her. The last couple of books from her have not held my interest the way her earlier work did. 1mo

Ruth Ware is always a fun, easy mystery read! It was interesting getting to see familiar characters again (although it‘s been a while since I read the 1st book) and to find out what they‘d been up to and where they were hoping to go. I‘m not going to lie, the mystery was extremely easy to figure out, but I still had fun anyways. I went back and forth between the ebook and audio and I really think the narrator did an excellent job! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

RaeLovesToRead I can't remember everything from book 1 - do I need to re read or is this more or less a standalone? 2mo
candc320 @RaeLovesToRead I think you can pretty much read it as a standalone. They fill in the gaps for you if you don‘t remember. 2mo
RaeLovesToRead That's good. I loved the first one, but I've got many of hers to read still and I don't think i can be bothered to re-read it right now with so much to get througy 2mo

This was fun! But I have to say, none of it surprised me. I basically figured out everything that was happening. For me, that didn‘t diminish my enjoyment, but it might for others. I‘m also not a huge fan of Imogene Church as an audio reader, but she‘s perfectly matched with this book.

dabbe Is she next to the woman in cabin 10? 🤣 2mo

I can‘t decide if I should reread the first book again before I get into this one. Those who‘ve read this, do I need to?

PurpleyPumpkin I was wondering the same thing.🤨 2mo
Read4life I reread the first because it had been so long since I‘d read it and I didn‘t remember many details, just the big picture. For me, it helped because the storyline and characters are mentioned quite often. I‘m glad I read them back to back. 2mo
MaleficentBookDragon @Read4life Thanks! Maybe I‘ll audiobook it. 2mo

Littlewolf1 Yeah, I don‘t need it either but it‘s on my list. It‘s just in color, and color makes everything better. 2mo

You know it's going to be a good day when a new Ruth Ware book comes out! 🥳🎉🎉🎉

Now let's hope I don't have to remember a lot about the first book - because it's been many years since I first read The Woman in Cabin 10! 😂

Hooked_on_books I‘m in the same boat! (Ha ha!) I think Ware‘s a solid enough writer that she‘ll give us enough to not have to go back and read the first one again. 2mo
Eggbeater I went back and read Cabin 10 because I couldn't even remember the ending. It is a good read. I'm looking forward to this new book. 2mo
Branwen @Eggbeater I'm about 50 pages in and really liking it so far! 🥰 I really admire that you went back and reread the first book again! 🩷📚 @Hooked_on_books So far, I'm impressed! She's done a great job with the recap! 2mo
