I absolutely loved this book. Adult Fantasy Romance…. With a horrible cliffhanger. I should have waited for the second book to come out.

I enjoyed this book. I found it on TikTok. It was a quick read and I definitely will be reading the second one. This has some spicy scenes. I like the banter between characters and the ending really made me want to read the second one. Sadly, it doesn‘t come out for awhile.

I loved this book. It has some spice but I really enjoyed it. I got it from the library. I had to buy the second one because it was already OUT and it already had a hold on it. That‘s going to be my excuse when my husband asks. Lol NOW I need to buy the entire series. I can‘t just have the second book on my shelf.

nichollinlove The FBAA series is SO GOOD! I flew through that series the same way! I bought A Shadow In The Ember because I couldn't wait for it either 😆 2y
Zuhkeeyah I trying to patient with my library but I have a feeling I‘m going to cave and buy the whole series 😅 2y

I really enjoyed this one. I always give authors credit for writing a pirate book. It could be hard because majority of the time they are just on a boat and it could get boring. I didn‘t feel that way about this one. It‘s an all female pirate crew. It was very entertaining and I can‘t wait to read the next one.

I am always amazed what Neil Gaiman comes up with. I enjoyed this one. The ending surprised me.

Tomigirl44 You seem to have read at least a couple Neil Gaiman books (probably more than just a couple 😊); I have not read anything by him yet - what would you suggest I start with? 6y
398.2 @Tomigirl44 😀 Do you want to start with a graphic novel or one of his longer books? I know graphic novels aren‘t for everyone. 6y
Tomigirl44 I wasn‘t even aware that he had any graphic novels - I‘m probably most interested in a “traditional” novel, but I‘ll keep a graphic one in mind as well - how about one of each? 6y
398.2 Ocean at the end of the lane is really good. It‘s not long at all. American Gods is one of his longer novels but also good. Ohhhhhh......Check out the Sleeper and the Spindle. 😀 I hope you like them. @Tomigirl44 6y
Tomigirl44 Thank you! And as good fortune would have it each of the 3 was available on kindle from one of my libraries 😊 I guess I have my reading set out for me! 6y

Woah... this was a long audiobook. It was a slow start for me in the beginning because some parts didn‘t seem necessary. It picked up and a couldn‘t put it down. There were a lot characters that I really enjoyed. Wasn‘t a fan of the ending because I had some many more questions. I just need to start the next one. 😀

I absolutely love this book. It‘s a Alice Wonderland Retelling. Frank Beddor does a great job describing Wonderland and I love all of the action. This is my favorite book this year. Plus I just got my new Wonderland book sleeve. Isn‘t it BEAUTIFUL?!

LibrarianRyan Love love love this book. I love that it's fueled by imagination instead of magic and bloody enough for the toughest kid. 6y
398.2 Exactly!!!! You explained it perfectly. I loved that it was about imagination because that‘s what Wonderland is all about. I got this for 50 cents at a library sale and I am ordering the rest of the series today. Have you read all of them? @LibrarianRyan 6y
LibrarianRyan @398.2 I have them. I've read all the Hatter M graphic novels. I've taught this book a few times. I've worked in places where parents won't let their children read "Magic" books so this was a nice change. 6y

Snow White Retelling!!!! I love retellings because authors take an original story and add their version. That‘s not easy for any author. I really really enjoyed this one. It was something different. It didn‘t have the common elements like apples, prince or dwarves. I found it refreshing. I got it from the library and I wished I didn‘t because I have to give it back. That‘s the struggle I have with the library. Lol

I picked this up 10 months and I didn‘t like the way it started so I put it down. I am glad I picked it back up. It kind of reminded me of StarCrossed tv show a couple of years ago. A sea creature race is spotted and tries to take over. The author does stand up comedy and you see hints of that throughout the book. It‘s definitely a YA read but I found it fun. I am going to check out the next one to see where it goes.

FEMALE GLADIATOR! Of course I am going to read this. Love all the action and overall was good. There were parts that did hit the mark for me. I am not a big fan of books that have instant love. I am curious what other people think. Do you prefer love at first sight in books or do you prefer relationships to grow?

staceyfilak I just finished Blood and Sand by CV Wyk. Female gladiator, not remotely instant love, and an amazing story, if this is your thing. :) 6y

Finally getting to this book. Work and coaching tennis has taken all my time. Finally taking a vacation with my family and it's time to relax and read. I really like this introduction. My grandfather is on vacation with us and I love that I am so close to him. My family can't believe I plan to finish books at a beach house. Come on.....like I would go anywhere without books.

Mommamanzi Enjoy your vacation! 7y
Jess_Read_This What a gorgeous view! Enjoy your vacation and happy reading!❤️ 7y

Watching my Cubbies and reading the second book in the darkest mind series. So far it's really good... if the Cubs win it would make my Sunday even better. 😀

This was such a fun book. It's made up of short stories by different authors. Each author was given a "challenge" by a booktuber about a different example of villainy. I enjoyed some more then others. All time favorite was The Blood of Imuriv. I wish Renee Ahdieh would write a whole book about it. Soooo good!

zsuzsanna_reads Sounds like a great concept. 7y
398.2 @zsuzsanna_reads it was! It's interesting what the bloggers gave the authors and then see what the authors came up with. These authors imaginations are amazing. I was blown away by a couple of them. 7y

LazyOwl I loved these books, enjoy 7y

I got a BOM membership for Christmas. This was the last month of credit. I decide to pick a book that I wouldn't buy myself. I haven't read any kind of thriller so this was new to me. I LOVED this book. I only read it during the day because my imagination sometimes gets the best of me. lol I definitely recommend it.

BarbaraTheBibliophage I just got this book in one of my PageHabit boxes. Glad to know you liked it! 7y

I found the main character refreshing. Sometimes in books you get the "Mary Sue" effect. The character that has all the answers and is great at everything she does. This main character has doubts, isn't the best and doesn't even want to be queen. It's her passion that makes you want her to succeed. I really enjoyed this book and I can't wait for the next one. I should've bought it instead of getting it from the library.

BookFreakOut Loved this one, heard the author speak and she said she really wanted a girl whose true power was determination. 7y
398.2 @BookFreakOut She would be a good author to see. I am excited for this series I am curious where she's going to take the character. I love imagery in this book too. Loved the idea of them living in trees. ❤️ 7y
BookFreakOut @398.2 Yes, the imagery was fantastic! I usually have a hard time visualizing things but this setting was so easy to picture. 7y

Happy 4th of July! I work today but it's slow. My desk is filled with Captain America stuff. Someone heard that I liked it and now people get them for me to add my desk collection. lol I am excited about this book. I really enjoyed the movie The Librarian. I am hoping it's like that. Has anyone read this?

Redwritinghood No, but I have it on my Kindle. Like many things on my Kindle, I hope to get to it one day. 🤞🏻😊 7y

DuckOfDoom I really liked it, but don't expect a deep complex story - but fun! 7y
Karkar Little potato head captain America!!! Too cute! ❤️ 7y
Itchyfeetreader I have read it - its a great premise but I felt like it was always a planned as a series and so the world building is not as impactful as I like (that said I just downloaded number three so she's doing something right!!) 7y
398.2 @Redwritinghood Trust me I get it. This has been on my TBR list since it came out. I am a little bit behind myself. Lol 7y
398.2 @Librariana Thanks! I actually have one but it made its way to my house. Lol 7y
398.2 @Texreader Yes! Team Cap! 😀🇺🇸 7y
398.2 @Karkar It's my favorite. You can change its attachments to other heroes but I like the way he is now. 😀🇺🇸 7y
398.2 @DuckOfDoom Good! It has mixed reviews. I like it so far. Did you read the entire series? 7y
398.2 @Itchyfeetreader I like it so far. I like the concept but something like this the world building needs to be pretty good. 7y
Lmstraubie I really enjoyed the first one. I was excited to read the next two. They were okay. I was happy to hear another one, possibly two, are being written because I'm hoping they get a little better. Obviously I've been sucked in though. 😁 7y

Working the weekend again BUT on the bright side I was able to start and finish this book. I don't know why it took me so long to notice the cover. Lol That's clever. It was a pretty good book. I was glad it wasn't filled with Romance. I am not a big fan of Rhee but I liked Aly. He was entertaining. Sometimes it felt like a lot was going on and I had a hard time keeping track of everything. I would read the second book.

"Another one bites the dust. And another one gone, and another one gone. Another one bites the dust" Just knocked out A book of Thieves and The Darkest Magic on my TBR shelf just in a couple days. The series is told from multiple character point of views. I thought the author did a good job keeping things interesting. I didn't feel the need to jump chapters just because I liked a certain character more. The book jumps the modern world to fantasy.

mjdowens 👌👍👏 7y
Book.Life I saw it on the bottom shelf... How did you like Red Queen?!!! 6y

398.2 I met the author for second book tour and she was awesome! If you ever get a chance to meet her you should take it. I got my picture taken with her and my face was so red it in because how excited I was. Lol still love the series. I am just hoping that the third book picks up a bit. @Book.Life 6y
Book.Life Wow that awesome!!! @398.2 6y
398.2 I am curious you didn‘t feel the second and third book were lacking a bit? @Book.Life 6y
Book.Life Well honestly it's been a while since I've read the series, but while I was reading the third book I did feel like I saw a lot of the same thing happening again. I love her writing but I think maybe her story plot could be more interesting... I absolutely adored the ending of Kings Cage. 6y
Book.Life Oops sorry!! 6y
398.2 @Book.Life I agree about the ending. I am excited for the next one to see where it goes from there. I‘ll have to keep a look out for your postings. I am interested in seeing what your going to review next. 😀 6y

1. Chicago
2. I saw this Facebook post called "Great Apps for Book Lovers". It's become one of my most used apps.
3. I enjoyed reading Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. The movie was pretty good. Also loved the TV Show (NOT the movie) Series of Unfortunate Events and tv show Shannara Chronicles. Loved those books growing up.
4. No turtle. Not really a reptile person.

This book wasn't for me. It was my Book of the Month pick. It took me awhile to finish. I never like to give a bad review because authors put so much work into it. I always feel bad. It just wasn't for me. The conversations seem to ramble but at times it made it seem real. It had more paranormal then I thought it would which wasn't a plus for me. I thought it would focus more on the family feud kind of like the Hatfield's and McCoy's.

fanbookart Hmmmm... I tend to do the same... That's why I decided not to become a book blogger... Sometimes I'm biased and also sometimes i find myself "rearranging" my words when I review some books i'm not very into... I totally get you. 7y

Went to Lit Fest in Chicago. I have been going the last six years and always make a weekend of it. First day I had my "Reading is Sexy t-shirt". I bought that shirt for my all girls book club. I get comments on it whenever I wear it. Lol The top picture is all the books we bought. There's so many books I am always in a frenzy lol. I am really looking forward to Sleeping Giants.

Joelene The magicians trilogy is awesome and the Syfy show based on the books is pretty good too, one of the better adaptations I've seen. Themis files = amazeballs, pure greatness! I think they'd make for some awesome movies :) 7y
398.2 @The.Intentional.Reader I just started it and I am really liking it. I was a little bit worried if I would like it because of how it's written. I haven't had any issues keeping interested though. 7y

398.2 @Joelene I haven't started the show because I wanted to read the books first. I am excited for it. I picked up the first one and the second one for a total of $6. Super excited. I am really liking Themis files so far. I was worried with the writing but i am not having problems with it. "Amazeballs" is an awesome way to describe it lol 7y

This was my BOM pick for last month. I finally was able to get to it. I picked it for a spy aspect. I gave it a so-so because it's not what I was expecting from a spy book. Once I realized that it was a slow beginning for me but it started to get good and a lot of shockers. Now I want a spy book.... Does anyone have any recommendations?

Dragon Any of Daniel Silva's novels about an art restorer turned spy (edited) 7y
mjdowens YES! Gabriel the spy/art restorer. However, I had first dibs on him as my fictional boyfriend😂😂 7y
DGRachel I concur with Daniel Silvia/Gabriel Allon, but I also highly recommend John LeCarre's classic George Smiley series. This is the first one and it's short. 7y

398.2 @The.Intentional.Reader YES I am really liking it. I heard that they are also making a movie of it and the author just released a new book. I am going to have to hunt that one down too! 7y

398.2 @mcctrish Yes it is! The author is funny. I heard they are making it into a movie. That's exciting. 7y
398.2 @fanbookart I am a 90s kid too! I get most of the references but the ones I don't get I think the author does a great job giving cliff notes version of it. Lol 😂 7y
fanbookart @398.2 true! Probably one reason i don't some of it is because i'm an immigrant... So some shows i never heard of. But you're right about the cliff notes and the keywords he used helps too 7y
jackilynn One of my favorite books. It is so chock full of pop culture goodness. I enjoyed his other book Armada as well (though not as much as Ready Player One). I seem to be in the minority for that one though because not many seemed to like it. 7y
mcctrish I think the movie has great potential. His next book, Armada is good but not as great as this one. I have high hopes for his third 😂 7y
398.2 @jackilynn Ya I was looking into it. It looks like a lot people didn't like it. It sounds like a lot of people were comparing it to Ready Player One. A lot of pop culture... I am a 90s kid so I don't know some of it. It's still really good. 7y
398.2 @mcctrish Yes I am really excited about the movie. I am curious how the effects are going to look for the virtual world. 7y
