This book was really good! I can‘t wait to read the next one in this series
I finished this a few days ago, Kerri Maniscalco really killed it! This book had me captivated from the first page and I really flew through it (even if it didn't seem so). I cannot wait to pick up the next one!

I'm heartbroken that this series is over! I enjoyed the plots and the endearing characters. For those who enjoy historical murder mystery and forensics, I highly recommend this fantastic series!

I recently finished STALKING JACK THE RIPPER and I‘m now working on HUNTING PRINCE DRACULA! I‘m really enjoying this series. It has such a Sherlock Holmes feel, with a gothic spin. The two main character, Audrey Rose and Thomas Cresswell, are so entertaining! I can‘t wait to see what else is in store! These are proving to be the perfect October reads!
Stalking Jack the Ripper is a morbidly fascinating read. Not my typical genre preference, it was a Club Read selection for Bookbattle. I really enjoyed the blending of historical facts surrounding Jack the Ripper within a fictional tale and the strong heroine with a passion for forensic science that constantly challenged what society deemed proper. A Sherlock Holmesesque mystery with a scientific approach to the whodunit, I found it entertaining
Did a little photography over the weekend with my little sister, look at how stunning this picture is! 🥰😍 Love this series! Follow my Instagram @__jay.masters__ (2 underscores) for more great pictures and blurbs about my reads!
I‘m struggling with this book. It‘s my second go at it, I‘m 10 days into it, and am only on page 72. I‘m trying so hard because I want to get to book 2, Hunting Dracula. I‘m a huge Dracula fan. This one, though, just isn‘t keeping my interest. I think the MC harps too much about being a girl who likes bloody sciency stuff. Maybe I‘d like it better if that didn‘t show up on just about every page. I got it the 10th time, enough already.
"Wield your assets like a blade, Cousin. No man has invented a corset for our brains. Let them think they rule the world. It's a queen who sits on that throne. Never forget that."
Comin' in hot with the badass female empowerment quotes that throw me off, in the best way possible!
I have loved theme reading in October for years, mainly switching between Dracula and the Historian—2 of my fave books of all time. I gave up Stephen King-type horror in my early 20s. So, this October, I‘ve started this series and the Peculiar Crime Unit series. The Ripper book is almost too gruesome for me. Hopefully it becomes more mystery and less gross soon. I ❤️ the PCU books. Both series are well suited for this month.
"Death was not prejudiced by mortal things such as station or gender. It came for kings and queens and prostitutes alike, often leaving the living with regrets. What might we have done differently if we'd known the end was so near? I shut those thoughts off. I was wandering dangerously close to an emotional door I'd already locked."
So far, I'm really enjoying the first spooky book in my October TBR!
My favorite read of the month is tagged. It just finished it last night. Probably stayed up a bit too long. It truly loved every bit of it and want it all back again. I'm fighting am immediate re-read. It's a nice start to all things macabre I'll most likely get into as the temperatures cool. 💀 🌹 🖤 This was perfect.
I placed my thumb and forefinger on the icy flesh, spreading it taut above the breastbone as Uncle had showed me.

1. I really enjoyed the tagged book.
2. Large Marge became a thing after Pee-Wee‘s Big Adventure was released.
3. Guacamole, anything cheesy, fried onions in any form. I like food.
4. Working at Mom‘s tomorrow. Sunday I have a massage scheduled and then normal prep for the week activities.
5. Just one.
I've been really depressed since my surgery. Maybe it's the pain, or the exhaustion, or the meds. I just haven't felt like me, and sure haven't done much reading. Today, I said enough is enough. I decided to forgo my pain medication and take the kids to the library. Do I hurt? Yes. Am I tired? Absolutely. But now I'm settled in with my #teaandabook letting the kids run wild while watching their new movie. Most like me I've felt in days.
Who has read this book? I've heard conflicting reviews. Let me know your thoughts in the comments and tell me your most recent five star read!
Sigggggghhh....I just got super annoyed with this. I just couldn't.
I highly enjoyed this. Not my typical read but had me entertained with its characters and the story line. Even though the main protagonist is Audrey Rose I loved the character of Thomas Cresswell. He was charming and so witty and made me laugh out loud several times. I kind of new the ending right away but this book was still enjoyable.
This was fun, even if I did manage to guess the killer almost immediately. I was a little disappointed that it didn‘t totally live up to its hype.
In other news, I just spent an hour and a half laying in bed with a weepy, devastated toddler who left his blanket at Papa‘s house... it means I had time to finish this while I rubbed his back but probably won‘t be watching Game of Thrones like I had planned all day.
I'd have given it a so-so if I hadn't figured out the criminal within the first 50 pages. Whilst the setting is fun, knowing who the culprit was made getting through the book exhausting. I'm sad I didn't enjoy this as much as everyone else seems to, but even the ending just wasn't satisfactory for me. It just felt like it had all the right elements but none of them did it for me? I will give the sequel a chance, just to see if it's better.
Super distracted by life lately (in ways I don't even want to get into), but this weekend I had a few minutes of zen: reading my book, snuggling with our snuggliest cat, Beetlejuice on in the background. 🤓📚🐈
Been seeing a lot of people reading this Stalking Jack the Ripper book, so I wanted to see what the hype was about. Deciding if I will read Before We Were Yours because I also have it on hold on audiobook. Top 2 books I got on sale at B&N- 2 for $8! Kinda scared to read Room because it sounds uber depressing 😬 and I‘ve never heard of Fighting to Be Free but I‘m pretty sure it‘s a romance and I‘m all about that 😘 And of course doggo bookmarks 🔖
