My goals will be to
❄️ complete #buddyreads for #Bookedintime #Naturalitsy #Midwintersolace #Pemberlittens and #Shesaid
❄️ start a new series for #serieslove2024
❄️ update my #192025 list and plan some more books to read. Atm, my reading has been sporadic over the time period. It will be good to have a decade or 2 ticked off. @Librarybelle

#LittensLoveRomance Our January read is scheduled for mid-month! This one looks fun - here‘s hoping we‘ll start off the year with a good one. Please let me know if you‘d like to be tagged in my daily posts. All are welcome to join in!

gossamerchild Oh, this was such a fun book! I hope y'all enjoy it. 2mo

OriginalCyn620 Cool! I‘ll see if I can find a copy of the audiobook! 😊 2mo
Kshakal Can‘t wait to read this one!! 2mo
CatLass007 This looks like a fun book. Could you please add me to your tag list. I think I already am overextended when it comes to #BuddyReads, but I‘d like to know more about what y‘all are reading. 2mo
peanutnine Yay I was hoping for this one! Please tag me, looking forward to it ☺️ 2mo
Read4life I‘ve got my copy 🤓 2mo

BethM Library actually had this one today! 2mo
CatLass007 Is there a master list for the year or do you vote every month? 2mo
StayCurious @CatLass007 we vote every month 2mo
CatLass007 Okay, that works. Thank you. 2mo
Skygoddess1 This sounds cute, please add me to your tag list 2mo
LiteraryinLawrence I have a logistical question. Do people usually read along at the same pace (so not starting til the 15th) or do they read it before the 15th? I know there‘s not one “right” way to participate, but I‘ve never done #littensloveromance before and am curious! Thanks! 2mo
StayCurious @LiteraryinLawrence hi! You can read it however you choose! But if you want to read at the same pace as me, I‘ll be starting Jan 15. There may be spoilers in my posts so if you‘re not caught up, best to avoid the daily posts. 2mo
Julsmarshall I finished this early because my library hold came in. Fun on #audio ! 1mo

Our January #buddyread (tagged) starts on the 1st of January.
I'm reviewing #Naturalitsy and would appreciate some feedback 😊
❄️ We choose our monthly #buddyreads through group recommendations, then voting. Are you happy to continue this way, or would you prefer a full list of the year's books chosen by me.
❄️ Do you participate in the solstice solace events?
❄️ Do you want an annual challenge?
Cont. ⬇️

AllDebooks ❄️ Is there any other activities you would like from the group? 2mo
AllDebooks ❄️ Any other thoughts/comments? 2mo
AllDebooks Thank you for your participation and for making #NaturaLitsy what it is today x 2mo

jlhammar I‘d be more than happy to have a full #NaturaLitsy list for the year ahead chosen by you. I love to plan my reading in advance. Looking forward to some wonderful reads in 2024! 2mo
IndoorDame I definitely participate in the solstice events. I find them very grounding. I‘m likely to pop in and out of buddy reads during the year whichever way you structure them, so I‘ll let the group decide that. 2mo
Chrissyreadit i do have a possible idea- (but ultimately am ok with anything you choose) maybe ask for recommendations, add your books have everyone select up to 12- then those 12 will be the ones used in your order? a little bit the best of both worlds? 2mo
TheBookHippie I like a list of the whole year 🤣 it‘s easy to have the books that way. I like @Chrissyreadit idea!! Pick a list top 12 win. The solstice events are the best! 2mo
BookwormAHN I like @Chrissyreadit idea for choosing books, but ultimately I prefer them planned ahead of time. I'm enjoying the #MidWinterSolace. I find them relaxing. I'll partipate more when the winter games are over. Any consideration for something around the summer Solstice? 2mo
Larkken I enjoy the low-keyness, and even the challenges for midwinter solace have been relaxed and kind to my brain and emotions 😌 having the books ahead of time might make it easier for me to get them in time, but maybe not since I can be a bit scattered. I appreciate the time you've put in so far, so I'm in as long as the changes are something you're up for! Thanks for hosting! 2mo
MegaWhoppingCosmicBookwyrm I like the suggestion by @Chrissyreadit Either way it would be easier to plan my reading if I knew the books for the whole year ahead of time. I look forward to and participate in the solace events as best I can. I have noticed quite a few posts escaping my attention because I don‘t think to check, so I just need to be better about that. An annual challenge could be fun depending on what it is. Thank you for all the work you put into this group! 2mo
vonnie862 @Chrissyreadit I like this idea too. Any books you suggest are great. I did not participate in the solstice event but maybe I can next year. 2mo
wanderinglynn Having the list in advance would be great because I check out from the library & many months, didn‘t have enough time because of hold times. I like Chrissy‘s idea too. Ultimately, whatever works best for you. I loved the winter solstice events, particularly the card swap—it was low key and I didn‘t feel stressed about participating. I‘m also happy to help out if you need help/want to expand for the summer solstice or fall/spring equinoxes. 2mo
Graywacke I‘m not sure what would best. Tricky because you want buy-in but also high quality and most of us probably don‘t know what the better books are. (I never do with these nature-themed books.) 2mo
Deblovestoread Having the year planned is a huge help as I participate in so many buddy reads and pop in out depending on that month‘s book. I have no preference to how the books are chosen but like @Chrissyreadit ‘s idea. 2mo
Bookwormjillk I agree with the crowd that having the list ahead of time would be helpful. I‘m new to this group but have enjoyed participating in #midwintersolace 2mo
Faranae I'm completely new and only joined with the MidWinter event. I'm looking forward to next year (all of it!), since my participation this month got a bit derailed with life events.

I like Chrissyreadit's idea, but I also like the general idea of knowing the books for the year ahead of time so I know which month's I'll be joining the buddy reads and which I likely won't.

I like the solace event! And I'd probably enjoy annual challenges or bingos!
yourfavouritemixtape I would like a list for the whole year - chosen by you or the group. I am not taking part in #MidWinterSolace because I was a bit hesitant to commit to something in this busy time. But I am looking from a distance and it all looks very nice. So I might take part in the next event. 2mo
jenniferw88 A list in advance would be helpful. But open to anything! 2mo
AllDebooks @Chrissyreadit This is a great idea. I'm happy to sort this out as I prefer to have an annual list of planned reads. It will be a bit of work initially but then it's set up for the year. 2mo
Soubhiville Hi! I am fine with books being chosen any way! I tend to only join reads when I have the time due to being in several bookclubs 🤪📚. I don‘t do the winter/solstice challenge or events, and I probably wouldn‘t participate in one here, again just due to time. I have enjoyed reading along and chatting about the ones I‘ve read! Thanks for organizing! 2mo

ElizaMarie I love the idea of knowing books ahead of time so I can schedule them in. But also, I am not the most huge participator when things get super busy. But that‘s why I want to plan things better 2mo
DebinHawaii I am new to the group with #MidWinterSolace as I was looking for a quieter, easier group to join in & help brighten the holidays which it did immensely, so thank you for that. I would like to continue & join in the readalongs & always appreciate knowing titles in advance so I can plan & source books. How they are chosen is not as important to me, I will join in on those I haven‘t read. I would also be up for other events throughout the year.💚 2mo
Read4life I like knowing the books ahead of time so I can get a copy. 2mo
Hooked_on_books I agree with the crowd about the benefit of knowing the books in advance. Especially new, popular titles with long holds (like the January pick, which I can‘t get in time). I don‘t participate in the other activities and don‘t expect to and I‘ve already overcommitted myself to challenges for next year, though in general I do think challenges are fun. 2mo
Bluebird @AllDebooks whatever works best for you is fine for me. 😀 I appreciate all your efforts in organizing these. Even announcing the books quarterly will help in planning. I too get most books from the library so I often have a 1-2 month wait to get the loans. I am trying to limit my commitments this year in order to bring down my TBR list, but I‘ve enjoyed reading along with you all when I have the time. 2mo
julieclair Like others, I enjoy having the books planned out for the year. And I like Chrissy‘s idea for choosing the books. I love participating in the solstice solace events! The winter card swap was especially fun and meaningful. 💙 2mo
kspenmoll Can you add me to your list? I loved the activities etc for #midwintersolace- grounded me to nature & slowing down- transformed my negative attitude toward winter. Would like to continue all year! I felt so much joy. As to books, I am up for anything- a list for 6ths, year helps w library holds. (edited) 2mo

@StayCurious I see that there are nearly 7000 posts with the #PemberLitten tag, so I‘m guessing the group has been in existence for several years. But it looks like the #JaneAdjacent tag goes back only to February 2023. If I make book suggestions, I not only don‘t want to duplicate what the group already has read, I don‘t want to miss out on books of which I might be unaware. I see that you went through a #ReadingSlump this year and I‘m (cont)⬇️

CatLass007 glad you‘ve overcome it. May I be nosy and ask how you accomplished it? I‘ve had reading slumps in the past (fortunately not this year), and I don‘t remember how I got out of them. I would appreciate any suggestions you or anyone one else reading this post might have. 2mo
BookwormAHN I suggest audiobooks especially one with a full cast. Good luck 🩵 2mo
CatLass007 @BookwormAHN Thanks for the suggestion! 2mo

Crinoline_Laphroaig Hi! Pemberlittens started during the Pandemic. We came together to read original Austen books with Chapter a Day Readalongs. Whenever we finished a book. The next month we'd do retellings of that book. It's evolved over time and #JaneAdjancent became a thing . Just thought you might be interested in history of group. 2mo
CatLass007 @Crinoline_Laphroaig Thank you! I haven‘t read much of her work so I decided I needed to remedy that. I‘m listening to Emma right now. This one is narrated by Jenny Agutter. 2mo
StayCurious Hello! When @BarkingMadRead and I took over the #Pemberlittens group last year, we went off into two branches - one to read classics and one to read retellings or books linked to Jane. Now we‘re evolving to include other classic retellings as well. I saw your comment on Sherlock retellings. I‘d be interested in co-hosting with you but would want to check with @dabbe and @Cuilin who are hosting #NoPlaceLikeHolmes. Ladies any plans to do retellings? 2mo
StayCurious @CatLass007 I was in a huge reading slump last year and honestly, Buddy reads (and committing to host them) helped me read again. Having other like minded readers around me helped so much! 2mo
Cuilin @StayCurious I think we should collaborate!!!! Yes. I love retellings. @dabbe thoughts? (edited) 2mo
dabbe @Cuilin @StayCurious Sounds intriguing! I think there are 3 types of Sherlock's out there: 1. The original canon, which is what @Cuilin and I are doing at #NoPlaceLikeHolmes. 2. Pastiches, which are completely different stories with completely new plots (Ex. The 7-Percent Solution). 3. Retellings, which reimagine an original story in the canon or refer to it (A Study in Pink, SHERLOCK, Ep. 1/Season 1). ⬇️ 2mo
dabbe We've already sort-of-unknowingly collaborated with #NoPlace reading A STUDY IN SCARLET and #JaneAdjacent reading A STUDY IN SCARLET WOMEN. #howcoolisthat I'm open to any other ways to collaborate as well! The more Sherlock, the better! 🤩🤩🤩 2mo
Cuilin @dabbe @StayCurious @CatLass007 well now I need to read A Study in Scarlet Women. Since the Sherlock novels/stories are short if we read them in order and add in a relevant adjacent read per month? 2mo
CatLass007 @StayCurious @dabbe @Cuilin I had no idea that #NoPlaceLikeHolmes even existed. I usually just happen upon #BuddyReads as I scroll through my feed. I have been listening to audiobooks exclusively for a couple of years. Vision problems. So I only have looked into what Audible has available for #JaneAdjacent and #HolmesAdjacent books. There are so many of each! But there are others available only in print, both paper and ereader. I listened (cont)⬇️ 2mo
CatLass007 to A Study in Scarlet before listening to A Study in Scarlet Women and I‘ll find #NoPlaceLikeHolmes and ask to be added to the tag list. I‘m not sure what next steps to take to co-host a #HolmesAdjacent #BuddyRead. Please let me know. (edited) 2mo
Cuilin @CatLass007 I added you to the list. 2mo
CatLass007 @Cuilin Great! Thank you. 2mo
StayCurious @Cuilin @dabbe @CatLass007 perhaps we could start next month and do a relevant adjacent book for the next in the Sherlock series. It could be completely optional to read both. We could do just a discussion at the end of the month rather than daily posts so it is more in keeping with your original group. Let me know how that sounds. I‘m happy to work with you all - this sounds fun! 2mo
Cuilin @StayCurious this does sound like fun!!! We‘re reading The Sign of Four in February. Do you have a list of adjacent reads or do we need to do some research? Here‘s my email if you want to share suggestions, cuilin3 at gmail 2mo
CatLass007 @StayCurious @Cuilin @dabbe. I found it quite enlightening and entertaining to read the original Conan Doyle before I read the first book in the Lady Sherlock series. The Sign of Four in February sounds great! It‘s in the collection I have and it‘s narrated by Stephen Fry. Just Marvelous. I don‘t have a list of adjacent books but I have taken screenshots of the first book in the different series. It‘s just easier for me to remember. (cont)⬇️ 2mo
CatLass007 @StayCurious @Cuilin @dabbe I would be glad to compile a list for you. Would it be possible for one of you to look for books that are not available in audio? My email is catlass007 at yahoo. This sounds like a great time! 2mo
Cuilin @CatLass007 I‘m interested in audio too, so yes. I also listened to Stephen Fry‘s Sherlock narration. 🩷 2mo
CatLass007 @Cuilin He really is a wonderful narrator. Do you have an Audible subscription? When I looked for Sherlock adjacent books, all I needed to do was enter “Sherlock” and it brought up many standalones and series. (edited) 2mo
Cuilin @CatLass007 yes I do. I‘ll try that. 2mo
CatLass007 @Cuilin Sounds like a good idea. 2mo
dabbe @CatLass007 @Cuilin I don't do audio, so I'm not much help in that department. Anything I can do? 2mo

I was surprised to see so many negative reviews for this one; it seems that the title and cover promise holiday froth and it doesn't deliver. I'm just as happy with lesser froth and I enjoyed the meatier themes and complicated relationships.

Also, a used book seller and a gardener, how could I not love that combo? I used this for a “job you'd love“ square and I don't know which one I meant. 😁

#BuddyReads #WinterGames #HollyJollyReaders

Laughterhp I‘m still waiting on my hold from the library for this one. I feel like a lot of books by this author are holiday adjacent and are meatier and deeper like you said. 2mo
Julsmarshall I really liked this one too! 2mo
