I was in virtual meetings most of the day today. It was like a weird 2020 flashback. I made just a little bit of progress on my books. Long drive tomorrow- I should be able to finish my audiobook and even start a new one. #ShelfSweeper

The tagged book is my second book read for the #ShelfSweeper Readathon @Tove_Reads #4Elizabeth

This book has been sitting on my shelf for more than 10 years. It tells the story of a wife who is awoken in the middle of the night to be told her pilot husband has been killed in an aeroplane accident, and goes on to tell his back story with no doubt some surprises along the way.

mcctrish I read this so many years ago and I remember it was an Oprah‘s pick and I was mad because I loved The Weight of Water so much more 9h

So this one is a low pick for me. While I liked the characters, it needed a stronger plot. This book is all about the smut. Which is OK, but I need a good plot to go along with it. I may or may not read the next book in the series. It will depend on my mood. 3.5🌟 ##SeriesLove2025 @Andrew65 #Read2025 @DieAReader #LitsyLoveReads @Read4life @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks #ShelfSweeper @Tove_Reads

Day 1 of the #ShelfSweeper Readathon. It was a busy day but I remembered to use the little cracks of time to read instead of scrolling. I made progress on my audio, kindle, and physical books that way. Thanks for hosting @Andrew65 and @Tove_Reads thinking of @eanderson

Andrew65 Scrolling is definitely the enemy of reading! 😂🙈
Well done on the reading you did get in!

I actually finished a book! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Started this one about 9 days ago. This was an enjoyable murder mystery set in 1896 London with a mother who is also a private detective. A lot of information in this book, and covers the Dreyfus Affair, as well as anti-semitism.

There are a few others in this series and I‘d hope to get to them at some point. This one has sat on my bookshelf since 2014. #SeriesLove2025 #ShelfSweeper @TheSpineView

emz711 I've never heard of this! 1d
Andrew65 @emz711 I hadn‘t either, we picked it up years ago in a charity shop. 1d

Andrew65 @emz711 No but definitely didn‘t spoil my enjoyment of the book. Will now seek to search out the others in the series. 13h
Andrew65 @rabbitprincess Totally lost my reading habit recently and feels good to be trying to get that habit back and the joy of finishing a book. 12h

May kind of snuck up on me. I have two books I want to finish today from April. The plan for May is to work on challenges, buddy reads, book series I have started but not finished and reading books that I own.

Setting off on the #ShelfSweeper readathon running throughout May by reading the tagged book set in 1896 and featuring a mother / private detective investigating a murder of a Professor in a library at King‘s College London.

Been sat on my shelf since July 2014.
