This is the first book in the The Lost Bride Trilogy. Sonya is starting over after ending an engagement and leaving her job when an unexpected visitor tells her she has been left an inheritance by her father's twin brother. She is stunned by this news since her father has passed away and had no known siblings since he was adopted. She moves to Maine to live in the manor left to her and begins to learn about her father's strange family history.

I love Nora Robert‘s 📚!! Enjoyed her interview on “Sunday Morning”! (You can find it on YouTube) It really ties in with Nora‘s introduction to Inheritance!! Can‘t stop listening!!! Deception, heart break, new discoveries of family tree, thrown in with an old haunted house! You just have to love Nora‘s ability to weave a fantastic story!

I binged this in a sitting and a half 😄. The character development isn't super great, and there was something weird about the paragraph formatting that confused me, but I love NR. She tells a good story. And omg do I NEED the library she describes in this book! Can't wait for the next one.

Book 1 of the Lost Bride Trilogy, this is a dual timelines story revolving around a centuries-old curse (yes, a real witch) that has claimed seven brides from the Poole Victorian mansion on the coast of Maine.
Sonya, our current-day heroine, is a graphic designer who is anticipating her wedding only to discover a betrayal that leads to a canceled wedding. When she is then contacted by her late uncle‘s lawyer (an uncle that she did not know 🔻

robinb existed) and learns that she has inherited his estate if she lives there for three years, she seizes the chance to freelance and moves to Maine. As she becomes aware that the house is ghost-ridden, with both benign and frightening happenings taking place, she enlists the help of her friends (both local and back home) to help her in researching the history of the house/brides in order to break the curse. I enjoyed this book 🔻 (edited) 6mo
robinb but did have two issues with it. First, the attraction between Sonya and Trey (the lawyer‘s son, and an attorney himself) felt a little rushed to me. After a few platonic meetings, Sonya basically seems to become impatient with the relationship‘s progress and moves things along at a fast pace. Second, while I understand that this is the first in a trilogy, the ending seemed rather abrupt, and the cliffhanger felt rushed and out-of-the-blue to 🔻 6mo
robinb me. However, even with the irks, I enjoyed this beginning and am looking forward to the rest of the story playing out. 4.25/5⭐️ (edited) 6mo
