⭐⭐⭐.5
Barely a pick, so much potential...the mass shooting and the aftermath were very interesting. I enjoyed characters Simone, Reed, Mea, Chaz and most of the others. The The Reed/CiCi dialogue was too much; along with the talk about wiches and New Age stuff.

This was a cute chick flick style romance. I think what threw me is that I didn‘t connect to the main character enough. She has ideas of romance that are very traditionally romantic, almost story book. It was a bit much for me at times, and made it feel less realistic. But that‘s just because I have different ideas of the type of romance I want in my relationships.
I am interested in reading the next two to learn about the other friends.

I loved the setting, all the horses ❤, and the female characters. While it mostly follows your basic NT plot line, I enjoyed growing stronger with two of the women, I found the male characters fun, esp the neighbor, and the atmospheric descriptions have made me want to visit a state that I would never have considered.

Fireheart Thanks!! 2d

Two novels in one volume - both were fun. The Playboy Prince wrapped up the ongoing terrorist storyline in a satisfactory manner. Cordina's Crown Jewel was my favorite of the series, skipping to the next generation of characters and unexpectedly taking me to Vermont for #ReadtheUSA2020 and #SeparatedbyaPondTour

Andrew65 Thanks, need to start researching some US states. Just finished a book for Virginia. 2w
TheAromaofBooks @Andrew65 - I figure for a few months I'll just read like normal and see which states I can check off that way. I should be able to get a lot done just from books I own!! 2w

The second book in the series - another enjoyable Roberts romance with a dash of suspense. While these books somewhat lack the friendship-building of some of Roberts's later books, they are still good fun if you are looking for a semi-mindless romantic retreat!

After a lot of intense/emotional reading, I was ready for something a little fluffier. I've had this Nora Roberts series sitting around for a while - a quartet of books about a (fictional) royal family. Relaxing, gently entertaining, and nothing stressful - just what I was looking for! Not her best work, but still enjoyable. And who doesn't enjoy a good family tree?
