I loved this! It‘s an homage/retelling of And Then There Were None, so if you‘re a fan of Agatha Christie, you‘ll love this. However, it does have some twists and keeps it interesting in its own way too! I really loved it.

Daisy Darker's family were as dark as dark can be. When one of them died, all of them lied and pretended not to see...
I loved the twist ending. A good book to read on Halloween, very atmospheric. I am so ready for Autumn.
Yes, another fantastic Feeney masterpiece. I started to figure out Daisy‘s character early on, but there were enough twists and turns to keep the story interesting. Who doesn‘t love a dysfunctional family full of dark secrets, a scary house on a secluded island, a roaring storm, and a murder mystery?!
Book #48 in 2023
Wasn‘t crazy about the twist itself, but loved the structure/setup as an homage to Agatha Christie.
Adding July‘s pick. Wasn‘t a terribly strong month but was a fun read, but don‘t expect it to go far. #readingbracket2023
This was a fun ride. A locked room mystery told from the perspective of Daisy Darker. Daisy and her family are invited to the matriarch‘s birthday dinner at her secluded house by the sea. When the clock strikes midnight they start dying one by one. While I figured out the big twist pretty early one, I was still trying to workout the whodunnit until the reveal.
Starting this one today…love a good house diagram at the beginning
My God, I love Alice Feeney. I declare June, Alice Feeney month (since I seem to be able to only read Alice Feeney books right now). She deserves the official key to the city, the parade, the billboard photo, and all the recognition.💫
I've been reading more murder mysteries than usual lately. Not usually my thing. I have a problem with all the dying. Call me crazy but reading about terrible murders is kind of depressing. However, this was kind of a different spin on the usual. It felt like a murder mystery game with fun poems with hints in them thrown around. I enjoyed this book! It helped noone really acted emotionally devastated with some of the dead bodies. ⭐⭐⭐⭐
33/23 This book 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄 I guessed immediately what was going on. If I didn‘t love my Kindle I would of thrown it across the room. Just awful.
This is the second book I‘ve read by Alice Feeney. I liked one as much as the other. This particular book had me guessing until the end. I loved the setting where this book took place. Being a loner, I‘d love to live in an area you can only get to during certain times. I didn‘t love all of the characters, but I wasn‘t supposed to. It‘s not that kind of a book. I look forward to reading more by this author.
There are a lot of And Then There Were None retellings out there & this is a good one. The narration style is intriguing & the I really didn't see the twist coming, though looking back there are definite hints there for careful readers. Things moved very quickly & it was one of those books that you sit down with on an afternoon & then just don't want to walk away from. Though it didn't really blow me away, it was absolutely a great binge read.
The Darker family are having a reunion for Nanas 80th birthday. Together one last time, the tide comes in and they are cut off from the rest of the world for one night. At midnight, Nana is found dead, an hour later so is someone else. Someone is killing them one by one. Will they find out before sunrise?
This book alternates between current day and the 1980s. Filled with twists and turns, a dark, clever read and a definite page turner.
My library hold arrived on my kindle today. Let‘s see what all the hype is about!
I listened to the audiobook via BorrowBox,
I really enjoyed this one!
Read for reading challenges
5/5
Almost finished this one. Started off strong, but it slowed down quite a bit for me in the middle.

Oh, May. How you have utterly kicked my ass. 😅
My reading has been productive, but completely all over the place. I never know what I‘m in the mood for, and I‘ve been DNFing books like crazy. Pictured are all the books left from my original TBR, but the only one that I need to read, is the only one not pictured — Daisy Darker.
Goal for #20in4 is to read whatever I want, and actually post some updates this time! 🥸😆😳
Amazing. Love love loved this book. Great characters, great neurotic family dynamic..so relatable. Fab twist at the end. I was gutted when it was over.
I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join in if you want!

Sunbathing has taken on a whole new level 🥰
Finished today and I quite enjoyed this one. Dysfunctional family ✅ atmospheric location ✅ murder ✅ creepy rhymes ✅
I saw one twist coming but that final one was a surprise; maybe it allows for too much but for a book taking a spin on an AC novel, I'll allow it.
I always enjoy Alice Feeney. This one has felt a bit tedious so far but I have a feeling I‘m in for a surprise.
📺 We watch several tv shows together at night! The Masked Singer, The Voice, The Unexplained, The Bronx Zoo! Who knew there was a 265 acre zoom in the Bronx?!
🎥 anything by Alice Feeney and Freida McFadden!
Wish You Were Here by Jodi Picoult, The Collective, Flicker in the Dark, Things We Do in the Dark, The Golden Couple, The Bookish Life of Nina Hill, The Girl with the Louding Voice. I could go on and on!! The Velvet Hours, The Lost Wife!!
This was a fun “And Then There Were None” type trapped murder mystery. At first the book‘s phrasing seemed cliched to me, a little cringey, but once the murders start happening, I really enjoyed the plot. (What does this say about me?😂) An estranged, really horrible family gathers together to celebrate the grandmother‘s 80th birthday at an isolated estate and one by one, on the hour, they start dying.Yeah, I figured it about 90% out whodunnit.Fun
1* A tie between the tagged and All the Dangerous Things
2* Another year of life (March 1), oldest grandson‘s Livestock Show/Rodeo, @geodynamical_nonfiction birthday (daughter), visit from nephew, youngest grandson‘s 6th birthday and more.

Finished this one last week! The ending is what made it a so-so for me. Other than that I really enjoyed the suspense and buildup as the characters kept being killed one by one. I was surprised by the ending and not in the best way. I will still read books by this author as I have a couple of her other ones. I really enjoyed Daisy as a main character. An overall fun locked room mystery.
Guilty! Lol. Bookstores are my favorite places on Earth!
Ever since my first Alice Feeney book, she has been an autobuy author for me and this book is another perfect example of why that is. What an addictive, dark read, I was spellbound from start to finish, I also recommend going into this one blind like I did...so don't even read the synopsis, if you can resist..it will be so worth it!! If I haven't already made it clear, I loved this book, Daisy still haunts me and I finished it in January. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I was enjoying this chapter through chapter, but I was not prepared for where it would go!!
This book is a twist on Agatha Christie‘s novel And Then There We‘re None with a touch of Shirley Jackson‘s We Have Always Lived in the Castle. Daisy Darker and her family gather for their Nana‘s 80th, prophesied, last, birthday, maybe? I found myself hiding the last paragraph of each chapter so I didn‘t peek and spoil the next reveal. This was an eerily fun read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I really enjoyed this book, it kept me gripped until the end and I didn't see the ending at all. The Darker family return to their Grandmother's house for her birthday party. Basically most of them are not very nice. Then it starts to go wrong. I have liked all of her books.
I NEVER saw the ending coming! 5⭐️
#20in4
I feel a little let down. I didn't guess who was committing the crimes but I guessed the truth about Daisy almost immediately and kept waiting for *more* but it never came. I was a little bored. I would have quite liked to see how things played out once the authorities got involved though.
Daisy's Nana's menus do not sound good to me. 😝
This was my first by Alice Feeney, and I was darn disappointed. The twists were so glaringly obvious that I was certain they were just the top layer of a more elaborate plot.
Nope.
Unfortunately, the characters and the writing just weren‘t good enough to redeem this one. The backstory should have been gripping but somehow it just felt flat. I think it comes back to not really finding the characters engaging. 2/5 ⭐️
Think I‘ve read too many thrillers.

I knew that this one would be a difficult one to figure out, and I was determined. I was also wrong. I didn‘t figure it out, L O L! Lots of books seem to get smooshed together in my mind and I can‘t remember details, but I think I‘ll remember this one.
Catching up on #12Booksof2022…
2022 was a weird reading year for me. 😅
January: It Happened One Autumn (of 8 books)
February: Finlay Donovan Is Killing It (of 26 books)
March: I Must Betray You (of 43 books)
April: Spy x Family (of 59 books)
May: Devil in Winter (of 57 books)
June: I read two books and didn‘t like either of them.
July: I didn‘t read any books.
August: The Bodyguard (of 39 books)
September: Daisy Darker (of 87 books)
This was my last book of 2022. Paired nicely with my new candle. I think this book would be appreciated more if you are already familiar with And Then There Were None.
Honestly I loved Nana‘s general vibe and rationale maybe that makes me problematic 😂
I was hoping for an epilogue showing what conclusions the police draw, but I understand why we don‘t. Fully enjoyed the ride only wish I had read it on Halloween as it is a key date.
I‘m a sucker for anything that remotely resembles And Then There Were None, even though I‘ve been severely disappointed in the past. I was utterly surprised by how much I enjoyed this! Even with the unlikeable characters that usually kills thrillers for me, this was compulsively readable and I got invested quickly. I‘m not sure how I feel about the ending, but it was a good time getting there!
