New obsession ⬆️⬆️⬆️ My only regret is that I waited until too late in the year to start it, it‘s perfect for a snowstorm read by the fireplace.

I could not put it down. There was so many twists and turns and everyone had their own secrets. Not your usual trapped in a cabin book. I love Alice Feeney‘s writing.
Adam has facial blindness (which is fascinating; people really have that!). He and his wife, whose marriage is struggling, decide to take a weekend at a remote chapel-turned-cabin. But the two of them have secrets, and someone has even more sinister plans. I had the twist about halfway figured out pretty early on, and another twist wasn‘t too surprising since I had been questioning things about it. Overall, fast read, fun twists, I recommend!
I bought these from PangoBooks and they are in mint condition and arrived quickly! Only $20 bucks! One book that I bought isn‘t in the photo! I forgot it! As if I needed more books! 🤣 If you haven‘t checked them out you should! 📚❤️📚

I LOVE a twisty unexpected book and this author never fails at that. I had no idea what was coming and then when the twist was revealed there was another one!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you like No Exit you will like this thriller. The pacing bothered me at first. Kinda felt like bumper to bumper traffic. Eventful spooky cliff hangers, then brake hard to the happy past. However, all the twist at the end made everything make sense even the pacing. Would make a good movie.
Another great story from Alice Feeney. Set mainly in Scotland but with flashbacks to London. The chapters are told from three POVs, Adam, Amelia and Robin. As you would expect there are lots of twists and turns.
Absolutely loved this one! Has everything I love - dogs, affairs, stalking, murder, estranged family, riddles - and excellent writing!
I finished this taking down these disgusting pantry shelves. Now to find my next read while I patch holes, sand and paint 💪🏻 I have never read Alice Feeney before and I‘m hooked! Maybe I would have seen some things coming reading in print but listening I was surprised every time as it all dawned on me ❤️
I have never read any books by Alice Feeney before this one but I definitely plan to change that! I loved this book! It kept me guessing and wanting more and I had no idea what was going on until the very end! I definitely recommend it!
Amelia and Adam win a weekend at a converted chapel in Scotland. It seems like perfect timing since their marriage has hit a slump. However, when they arrive the vibe is more spooky than romantic. Sure enough creepy things begin to happen and secrets are revealed. This was a fun read with a wicked twist.
Fun thriller!! I want to read her backlist now too
Bringing the oldest home from uni means I get to listen to my book while I drive there and back
Started yesterday and planning some audio ironing today ( thank god for audio books making life interesting)
Promising-ish plot, but at abt 30% I couldn‘t deal with the animal cruelty/negligence described here. To me, it was unnecessary. Yeah you can make someone work in a serious or depressing field to make a point, but it‘s like saying she was a social worker and then describing all the horrible shit that happens to kids out there. Is it relevant to this story? Plus, I do work with animals and the way she talked abt it just didn‘t ring accurate to me.
Wow what a book , this had me second guessing every page I was reading . Didn't see the plot twists coming and couldn't put it down . Psychological thriller that leaves you wondering. 5 star Read ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I‘m genuinely surprised how good this was! In the beginning I thought it was going to be predictable and it wasn‘t at all. This is a wild ride until the very end. Told in alternating perspectives, and through letters, it tells the tale of a marriage gone very wrong. Hoping to save their marriage, Amelia and Adam embark on a weekend getaway that they literally can‘t GET AWAY FROM. So twisty. #thriller #mystery #spooky
This book was creppy AH, and I didn't expect that. Its a good listen but Maybe not at night. Nice twist and great narration. Pick it up.
Finally finished my first book for the #MarvelousMarch #Readathon, also part of #KickTheSlump. Rock Paper Scissors was an excellent psychological thriller that I think was better than The Paris Apartment. There were a lot of twists, some that I guessed, but not the major one at the end. My one complaint would be that I didn't think the final chapter was needed, but that's it.

Looks like I should finish this tonight. So far I'm still very engaged and I'm about 70% through.
I‘m in my growlery reading this passage from Rock, Paper, Scissors.
1. Rock, paper, Scissors
2. Fahrenheit 451
3. North anger Abbey

Adam and Amelia are trying to save their marriage by spending a weekend at a remote Scottish home. The stage is set for a twisty thriller, I don‘t want to give anything away. I spent every free moment reading this ebook so I think it‘s a pick.
What are you all up to this morning(or evening depending on where you live)? I'm #readinginbed
This started off slow for me (I thought I might have thriller burn out) but now I can‘t put it down.

So much fun!! Loved it too that I had to switch to the paper copy because it allowed me to see the chapter illustrations, and the formatting of the Word of the Year. Feeney‘s writing is great, I wrote down a good number of great and clever sentences. Really enjoyed this one!
Had to switch to the book since my audio expired. “Nobody should promise to love somebody else forever, the most any sane individual should do is promise to try.” (Adam)
Walked through a winter wonderland this morning with this story in my ears. Wonderfully fun sentences like “There are forests less shady than my wife” and even better because they are read by Richard Armitage.
Ugh. This one had potential, but I was so disappointed. There are a lot of twists (though if you‘ve read many thrillers, you‘ll likely catch on pretty quick) I wasn‘t a fan of the writing style - there were a lot of cheesy lines like “secrets are only secrets for the people don‘t know them yet.” A lot of what happened seemed highly implausible and just didn‘t add up.
All in all, it was a quick read, but I didn‘t particularly enjoy it.
My #bookspin number 5 was a #BOTM pick. I chose the tagged book. My February #doublespin is Hench.
I‘m looking forward to both and plan on getting to both this month. 🤞
⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2
Twisty turny thrillers aren't my favorites, but this one was unexpectedly good. And the audio was extremely well done.
I forgot to post a review of Rock Paper Scissors!
I was pleasantly surprised by this but I must say my expectations were low since I don‘t typically read books like this. I genuinely didn‘t expect the twists and although the writing wasn‘t stellar it was still an entertaining read.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
"If every story had a happy ending, then we'd have no reason to start over again. Life is all about choices, and learning how to put ourselves back together again when we fall apart."
I Ioved the twists in this book. Amelia wins a weekend away with her husband to a secluded church turned home in Scotland. Things get creepy and wrong almost immediately ❄️

This was a solid read. Was it the best writing? No. Was I entertained? Yes.
There were twists that flew by me, if you hate unlikable characters this is not for you, only one likable character here and that is Bob (if you know, you know).
This feels a lot like a Ruth Ware read and is going in my purse to give to my hair stylist!
I could not put this book down while reading it! It had so many twists and kept me at the edge of my seat. I read this in two sittings. First 5 ⭐️ read of the year! Book 4/52 #52booksayearchallenge
Cold night here in New England, time to hunker down 🥰
First 5🌟 of the year!! I love Alice Feeney‘s novels and the way she drops little hints throughout that you forget about until they comes back to bite you. There were so many twists and turns I didn‘t stand a chance of guessing them all. I‘m still not sure who was telling the full truth and all that actually happened now that I‘ve finished. I love that! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I finished this one a couple days ago and loved it! It had such a good winter atmosphere and it was really easy to get through. Kinda creepy and mysterious, and I‘m proud to say I figured out the plot twist💁♀️📚
Could not stop rolling my eyes. Found most everything annoying—the characters, the twists, the writing. Not for me. #BOTM
#3 well, I know everyone has loved this book, and I enjoyed it. But I didn't love it. Yes, the twist at the end was great and I did that see it coming, but I sort of got annoyed at times with the characters during the story. Maybe we're supposed to. But is was good and did keep me reading to find out what was going on. Another good, snowy read for January.
Book read last week. I really liked this thriller. So many twists that I didn‘t predict. Those characters are the worse people in the world and yes, unfortunately, you can find people so selfish and sociopath (legal term) or antisocial (psychological term) like them. Oh yes! Go blind with this. 4.5⭐️ First novel I read about a person with prosopagnosia condition. Interesting what the author mentioned in her note about this condition.
