My kids are loving this series. If you like Elephant and Piggie then you will like Narwhal and Jelly. Fun fact we learned: a group of Jellyfish is called a Smack.

Ben Clanton‘s charming self-illustrated picture book for children aged 5+ (the first in a series) is a cute story about friendship, envy and imagination and includes some cool facts about narwhals and jellyfish such that both adults and kids will get a kick out of it.

Thank you for the tag @Ashley_Nicoletto 🤩 Here‘s my #top6reads so far this year, and because I cannot follow directions, I threw in the tagged book as a bonus. 😆 I‘m still waiting for that special book that just blows me away and that I won‘t be able to stop talking about for years, but I haven‘t found it quite yet. Tagging @ljuliel @Serotonin @Shakespearience @dsfisher and anyone else who wants to play along. 😘

Ashley_Nicoletto I also LOVED The Huntress and it belongs in my top 6. The Kingdom of Copper is on my TBR. Maybe I need to push it up! 5mo
Kaila-ann The Huntress made my top 6 as well. 5mo
MallenNC I really liked A Deadly Divide; that‘s a great series. I have The Huntress and would love to read it soon. 5mo

batsy @readordierachel Me too ❤️ It's a runner up in my list 😁 5mo
Avanders lol i had a hard time sticking to the instructions too 😁😁 5mo
DGRachel @Ashley_Nicoletto @Kaila-ann I was surprised by how much I enjoyed The Huntress and really glad I forced it on my work book club. Nina has to be one of my all-time favorite characters. 5mo
DGRachel @MallenNC Ausma Zehanat Khan is one of my favorite people and I will read anything she writes! 5mo
DGRachel @readordierachel @batsy It‘s definitely not for everyone, but it is a book that will stick with me for a while, like Ania Ahlborn‘s Seed. I can still picture where I was when I finished that one and the ending still haunts me. *shudder* 5mo
DGRachel @Avanders I feel like top whatever lists are made to be broken. 🤣🤣 5mo
Kaila-ann @DGRachel Nina was my absolute favorite character in the story but I had a soft spot for Tony too. The beginning was a little slow but I‘m glad i stuck with it because I ended up loving it. 5mo
MallenNC @DGRachel I love her detective series but I still need to read The Bloodprint. 5mo

I love my #indiebookstore #parkroadbooks. Sherri ordered all of the Ben Clanton books for me and found this accessible book on Emmett Till. Best of all, everyone shared my enthusiasm for Narwhal and Jelly and #nojudgement for the fact I bought them for myself. I don‘t have kids or even have nearby friends with kids. These puppets and books are all mine! 🤣🤣

Haven't gotten a lot of reading done this week because I've been too busy running my son's elementary school's book fair. Our PTA provides a voucher to every child so that no one goes home empty handed. It's so much work, but also the most personally rewarding thing I've done in a long time. :)

fandom_hellspawn99 Wow I wish any of the schools I went to did that, it was both my favorite and least favorite time of the year because we never had the money 😂😅 10mo
AutumnRLS @fandom_hellspawn99 there were many years I went home empty handed as well. I'm so glad we do this 10mo
TabbyGibby Ooo, I'm a PTA President and I'm intrigued by this voucher system. It sounds wonderful... Is it for a certain amount of money (like $5?) Or for certain books they can choose from? 10mo
AutumnRLS @TabbyGibby We give K-2 $5 and 3-5 $7. We take all our earnings as scholastic dollars instead of cash. This gives us a higher % on each sale. When we have extra $ left over we let teachers pick out books for their classroom and supplement the school library's collection. We run three sales a year. Two regular and one BOGO. Look up who your local rep. is online and they can get you started. It's a great way to encourage literacy! 10mo
TabbyGibby @AutumnRLS That sounds amazing. We hold one book fair a year and while some kids are able to bring in money to buy books, we have lots of kids who can't. I'll be talking to the rest of the board about doing something like this next year! Thanks! 9mo

1. Before I could really read it was Snow White and Rose Red. After I really started reading it was Nancy Drew books.
2. My first dog. She was the best friend I've ever had.
3. Picking up black walnuts in the yard.
4. I really liked to play games(still do), and my aunt had this game called Masterpiece that I loved.
5. I love this series.

It's also book 83 on #MountTBR.

The showable #bookhaul.

Ever since visiting the Natural History Museum in London my daughter has pestered me with "Can I have a real unicorn?" Since narwhals make bad pets, this is a good substitute. She's even happy that it's in English.
I caved and got the illustrated Gaimans. Just "Odd" left to get.
The stack of four books was a total impulse buy. I wanted to get one book for a swap box and well, you know how it happens.
#noteworthynovember

I have an unhealthy obsession with Narwhal & Jelly. Add that it's written by a really cool author (who happens to be a fellow Ravenclaw) and that there are matching temporary tattoos? You'd better believe I'm going to sell you this book. (Make that five copies of this book. Or twenty. Yeah, 20 sounds good.)

This is an adorable way to introduce even the youngest kids to graphic novels. And it was wonderful. Narwhal and Jellyfish start off believing each other is an imaginary friend. Fun is had in every page, and now all kids will want to be a unicorn of the sea.
