Hello #GroupO for my pick, I went through my Goodreads TBR list and picked some of the top rated novels that were on there. Which would you all be most interested in? I will tag the novels in the comments as well — all are fiction, two are historical based and I believe one is YA. #lmpbc

Shakespearience @jenniferw88 The synopsis made it sound like “A Death” was the first one 🤔 guess I should have dug a little deeper. 1d
jenniferw88 @Shakespearience you can probably read it as a stand alone but thought I'd warn you just in case you wanted to start at the beginning! 😀 1d
ladyneverwhere These all sound great and I'd be happy to read any of them! But my top two choices would be, we were the lucky ones and this is how it always is 😊 1d
Jerdencon I‘ve read we were the lucky ones ( it‘s great!) so any of the others sound good. 1d
LiteraryinLititz Just to chime in as someone outside your group, I read This Is How It Always Is and really loved it! 21h
RavenLovelyReads The Serpent King or We Were the lucky ones sound good- Bill I‘ll be happy to read anything 😇 3h

So after some poking around Goodreads and Amazon these are the four I have narrowed down to, if you would like to help me pick. #GroupU #LMPBC
1. Relish by Lucy Knisley (cooking AND comics, yes please).
2. Nimona by Noelle Stevenson (adventure!)
3. Lumberjanes V 1 (awesome girls, friendship, weird things in the woods)
4. The Prince & The Dressmaker by Jen Wang (a new fairy tale)

TheBookHippie 4-2-1-3 my likes in order 📖❤️ but any is fine ! I‘m so excited! 2d
Shakespearience @TheBookHippie I know! They all sounded great to me! 2d

LibrarianRyan I have read all of them but Relish. However, the Prince and the Dressmaker is such a wonderful tale. I tell everyone under the sun to read it. It's a Litsy award winner (i wont lie, nominated by me), it has won other inclusivity awards. I would so read it again, and again, and again. But Pick any. None of these are bad. 2d
Shakespearience @LibrarianRyan good to know! It sounded wonderful when I read the synopsis. It will likely end up being The Prince or Relish. I am a big foodie so that one really spoke to me. 2d
DGRachel I've read Lumberjanes and Nimona (I actually have a subscription to Lumberjanes individual issues!), so I vote for Relish or Prince, but I could totally reread the other two, as well. :) 2d

I LOVED this book. 💜 I stayed up late finishing it last night. I don‘t think I have ever read a book like it. Friendship, mystery/thriller, and one girl‘s quest to save the 👸🏻 princess aka her best friend. I enjoyed not having any romances to worry about and it was just a purely fun read! I might need to find more by this author. #vhsreads #viloniareads #yalit #friendship

One of the book‘s for this month‘s LGBT 🏳️‍🌈 Book Club that I am part of in AR. Once again I got to read a book that I never would have picked up on my own. This novel was really ahead of its time (it was originally published decades ago). A coming of age novel that tackles life as a woman trying to succeed as well as being a lesbian. There was a lot of humor and truth here. #lgbt #vhsreads #viloniareads

Being with English teachers all week means I also start adding to my #TBR list. I also just saw a post on Facebook about this book (it was a list of women in war time books or something to that effect)...so clearly if two places are telling me to read it then I should, right? #womeninlit #history #war

This book is the June Book for my local LGBT 🏳️‍🌈Book Club! I just joined a few months ago and had to miss a few recent meetings, but I am excited to be getting back to it. We meet monthly at a local brewery and it is a pretty fun group of people. I am also starting this book while reading essays for the AP Lang exam in Tampa (because who travels without a book?). #viloniareads #vhsreads #lgbtreads

Mehso-so

The Love Interest was an interesting twist to the spy thriller genre. While I enjoyed the ride, there wasn‘t a lot of depth or backstory to the organization or some of the main characters. Ironic considering this is about breaking stereotypes like “love interest”, “Nice guy”, or “antagonist.” It felt a little flat still and the ending was rushed. #vhsreads #viloniareads

Not a bad read. I wasn‘t a fan of some of the back and forth with the dog‘s POV and her human handler. I can at least say that it has a happy ending, maybe even a little teary as I finished. I don‘t usually read dog books, but this was pretty good. It does kind of make me want to learn more about the use of dogs in war... #vhsreads #viloniareads #dogbooks #historicalfiction

This was a book recommend by a student and my librarian at the high school. It is okay, but I really can‘t get over how they named this poor German Shepherd “Cracker”. Why? That is not the name of a dog...much less a German Shepard. It is a little better that the full name is Firecracker...although is is worse when you find out that as a puppy the dog was named “Magnificent Dawn of Venus”. #vhsreads #viloniareads #dogbooks #names

A short, creative graphic novel that made for a good break from my normal reads. Besides it was about time I got it returned to the friend that loaned it to me. I like how unique the characters are and the way the neighborhood kids came together. Just finished this book on a lazy, rainy Sunday. I had seen the movie first, so perhaps my expectations were already a little higher. The movie and book are different, but I like that we get a little more of post-relationship Simon here. It was well balanced in terms of the portrayal of teenage drama. I probably would have enjoyed it more if I were the target audience. #viloniareads #lgbtbooks #vhsreads #ya
