Sunday morning reading
A gloomy October Saturday morning: ideal weather for curling up with coffee and a stack of books!
I'm about halfway through the tagged book and hoping to finish it today.
Well I don't know what to think. I enjoyed this book im general - it was interesting for sure. But I didn't think it was scary, and honestly, I'm not sure I totally understood what was happening all the time! But I'm pleased that I got through a 700+ page book in 3 days!
4/5 ⭐ This was such a page-turner! I'm on vacation this week and I managed to read this in one day. And then I kept thinking about it after I finished. So well written and structured. Definitely recommended.
3.5 ⭐ / 5. This was mostly fun and sweet but the writing style didn't always work for me and the storyline with Nina's boss annoyed me.
I didn't totally love it - I think it was maybe too whimsical or cutesy for me. But it was a nice distraction from real life this week.
The #libraryloot keeps coming! I loved Caite Dolan-Leach's DEAD LETTERS when I read it in 2017, so as soon as I heard about this new book, I put a hold on it at my library!
I feel like this doesn't get a ton of great reviews, and I can see why it isn't for everyone, but I really liked this book. I could not put it down. It was gritty and showed how dark and nasty high school and teenagers can be, but I was so invested in these girls and their friendship (or frenemey-ships).
I love Courtney Summers' books and this reminded me of her books a little.

This was a fun read! I don't really read cozy mysteries but this was a nice change of pace for me. I was annoyed at someone's reason for not telling the police information that could have made them less of a suspect, but generally I thought the mystery was well done and I liked Lana, the main character.
I'll be adding book two to my TBR.
3.5 / 5 ⭐
This was a real page turner, but the ending felt rushed and I predicted everything, so as a twisty thriller it wasn't all that satisfying for me. I like when a book can surprise me.
But it was dark and entertaining enough. I've seen mixed reviews and I understand why, since I'm somewhat torn on my feelings about it. 3.5 / 5 ⭐
