After many, many months, I actually listened to an entire audiobook! Thank you Litsy friends for helping me past the initial yearlong reading slump hurdle. Scarlett Johansson's voicing of the different characters was unexpectedly entertaining. One can't go wrong with an outstanding audio version of a children's classic. #classics #children #YA

What in the world? I've seen the Disney movie once, when I was a child but thought I should read the classic as an adult. So weird. Wonder if the manuscript was submitted today if it would even make it out of the publisher slush pile.

Anyone who knows me knows my love of quotes. I keep a commonplace book full of them. So I thought, add a couple to my junk journal page regarding Alice in Wonderland. The concept started with the mini book (I have several duplicates of the Zaru Mini Book ones) and morphed from there. The two quotes, I printed off and matted and the jewel is a charm from Hobby Lobby. Think I might take more duplicates and work up pages for them as well

Loved the throwback to when I was a child. I have to say I do prefer “wonderland” to “through the looking glass” but both are such beautiful dreamy fantasies!

To start when I finish the great Gatsby. There has been so little reading time this week. Or journalling time. Or craft time!

“Curiouser and curiouser!“ - Lewis Carroll

I have the book in a pop up version from my childhood and it is my favorite! I read it all the time and it helped build my creativity.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland“ is a fun way to encourage kids to think outside the box. It's full of strange characters and places that encourages creativity. In the classroom, it's great for discussions about imagination and unique perspectives, and I will definitely use it!

You never know what you're going to find in Provincetown.

Day 18. Queen

For this prompt I leaned more character than title. The Queen of Hearts makes an appearance in Alice‘s Adventures in Wonderland.

Last read it about 10 years ago. Difficult to read without visualising the Disney version to myself.

I have this quote hanging up in front of my treadmill but besides making me chuckle when I attempt to exercise I think it perfectly sums up my everyday anxiety and stress. #aliceinwonderland #redqueen

I worked there for 13 years - glorious times... 😊
Still longing to get back to theatre - but under the current directorship it's not possible in Stuttgart where I'm homebased...

The Quick and Pithy of MY READING MIND
This is a fast little story, and more like a game of 52-pickup. It‘s no wonder people in the 1960s liked to read this story while high. Actually, perhaps this is the only way an adult can live-ily see the sense of this beautiful dream (kids get it instinctively; their sense of wonder hasn‘t yet been weighed down by society).

Fantasy

This book won the Kate Greenaway Award. This is about Alice who follows a rabbit into the woods. The rabbit goes down into a hole and Alice follows. She soon finds out that she is in a complete different universe than what she is use to. She then has many experiences and meets many new things and creature along the way.

This was a favorite book and a favorite Disney movie when I was a child.
