I‘ve been buying a lot more books than usual lately (mostly used) so I‘m curious about everyone‘s habits.

I‘ve gradually shifted more from #2 to #1 over the past year and a half, and generally only indulge in #3 if it‘s something I don‘t have access to borrow.

Patchshank Im not much of a rereader so I'd say 2 and 3. 1y
Cazxxx All of the above! 1y
TheAromaofBooks I tend to be a strong 1, with a dabble in 2 haha However, any time I can get books for under about $2-3, I'm willing to give them a try - so I go on a BookOutlet binge from time to time and scavenge the library discard rack and yard sales. 😂 1y

ImperfectCJ Mostly 1, a little 2, but I also buy books as part of Book Riot's Tailored Book Recommendations and (at least this month) for Aardvark Book Club. I used to only buy books if I couldn't get them from the library, if I wanted to write in them, or if I wanted them on my shelves always, but lockdown shifted my habits and I haven't shifted back yet. 1y
EclecticBookLover Somewhere between 1 & 2. I do re-read some favorites often and when the old strikes so it‘s easier to have them on hand so I‘m ready when the mood strikes me. I also own a lot of biographies because I like the way they look, mostly actors and musicians I like, but I‘m not likely to go back and read them. Number 3 comes into play with used books and digital sales. 1y
wanderinglynn All of the above! I‘m an eclectic buyer. Although I tend to keep books that are either from my fave authors or ones I want to rereads. 1y
eeclayton With print books, I'm mostly #2. With ebooks, I tend to be a bit more adventurous, esp. when I find something I'm interested in in the sales. 1y

mabell I read 3 books, a number of picture books, and 1 GN. A couple of new authors, and 1 from my TBR. I have a handful of books and audiobooks in progress, too! 😊 I have to say Guess the Book was my favorite! It‘s a good thing it was of limited duration, or I wouldn‘t have gotten anything else done this month! 🤣 Thank you so much for hosting! You were a perfect team captain! I appreciate the amount of time and commitment you put into this!! ❤️ 4y
Kimberlone 1. I read six books 2. Two were from my TBR 3. Yes, four were new to me 4. The shared experience with fellow littens! Yay, Team Fozziwig! 4y

🌼 Circe by Madeline Miller
🌼 This Is Kind of an Epic Love Story by Kheryn Callender
🌼 I‘ve just started The Great Believers with my book club, and I really hope I love it.
🌼 I set a 60-book goal on Goodreads, and it says that, at 27 books read, I‘m two books ahead of schedule! 💪

JoyBlue Ooh—nail polish—yes! I collect that, too, but never think of it that way. 😉😎 5y
Clwojick @JoyBlue I had over 500 before I purged my collection, and gave some away. I‘m probably closer to 250-300ish now 😅 5y
JoyBlue @Clwojick Cool! What‘s your brand of choice? I think I had close to 300 OPI colors until I purged them all a few years ago in favor of Zoya. I‘m too comfy right now to get up and look at how many Zoyas I‘m up to now. I have 6 new colors coming this week. They have a great Earth Day offer every year. 😀💅🏼 5y

2. Finishing Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas - finally!
3. Popcorn
4. From the time I could sit up as an infant, my favorite thing to do was to turn the pages of a book.

"Even in a moment of distilled pleasure (stress minus stress equals pleasure, by definition), I thought about how I could distill it further, with a photo or text, and felt guilty for that. But why was sitting, enjoying nature, or something like it, better than creating some representation of it? I never thought that way about it in the past, when it was a disposable camera, or an easel and watercolors."

It's been such a busy week (and weekend), that I've barely had any time to read, let alone check in on Litsy or participate in any photo challenges.

But I'm still alive (and relatively well), and taking a moment to post a pic of my mini #bookhaul from the small press table at @strandbookstore - I actually bought these Friday, but hadn't even had time to take them out of the bag until now.

We had 24 excellent nominations for February's book - A Classic Romance. Now we need YOUR HELP to rank them! Make sure you rank each book from 1 - 5 with 1 being the book you least want to read and 5 being the book you want to most want to read. These votes will close Sunday morning. There are descriptions of the books in the survey itself, but they are also tagged in the comments below. Have fun!

So I'm listening to Blood Oil, which is very heavy and textbook-y, and I need something light to balance it out while I drive. Please take my survey and let me know what #Henry and I should listen to on our way back to SC! Yes, I'm using the help to cover a mess. 😉😉😱
