I am in love with Einstein ❤️🐾❤️📚
I know this is an unpopular opinion and I am SO sorry! I just went back & forth with this one. I wanted more of Einstein and The Outsider. The end was honestly so good. I really did love Einstein so much. I just didn‘t need to be hammered with all that detail and I could‘ve used less Travis/Nora. (Again, I‘m not big on romance.) So I‘m just not sure how I felt about this. I didn‘t love it, but I didn‘t hate it either. #PBSGreatAmericanRead
For the first half or so, I thought this might be a 5-star audiobook. This is a fun listen: exciting, original and engrossing; the writing is good, and the monster is terrifying. It‘s pretty dated, with far too much time spent on distemper.
Do you know that thing that happens when some male authors try to write female characters well and they end up being perhaps unintentionally sexist and eyeroll-inducing? This book has that thing.😬
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
I might bail on this book. It‘s not really my type of book. Sometimes it just doesn‘t make sense to me, and sometimes it does.
1. Lean on Me was my favorite song as a kid! I loved to belt that one out.
2. I'm thankful for a low key summer, with time to read and enjoy the simple things.

Decided to reread one of my favorite Dean Koontz books in honor of his new book coming out next week! 😀📚💕 Also drinking some tea while Moukou is enjoying some afternoon cuddles! 😻 #catsoflitsy #littenkitten #moukou
This I really enjoyed it is definitely going to go into the read again pile and is on my list of favourite books
This is truly a story that stands the test of time. Einstein‘s tale is a riveting thriller with many twists and turns, that keep the reader on the edge of their seat throughout. It‘s been many years since I have read a Dean Koontz book and I am so glad I chose this one.
This is always a good read. I listened to the audiobook this time.
“Except for the head, there were no signs of violence in the kitchen. Of course, the head was bad enough. It was in the center of the table. On a plate.”
Got to the “A reread of a favorite book” category in the 2019 Popsugar Reading Challenge so I‘m reading one of my personal favorites. Tonight I got to my favorite excerpt (dark I know, but it‘s just so well written and perfectly placed within the story to increase the intensity).
Another #GreatAmericanRead book read, and as generally is the case with the books on this list, I really liked it! I can imagine this would make a great movie. Lots of action and adventure, with even some romance thrown in.
A quote from another review sums it up quite nicely:
"Cross Lassie with E.T., add a touch of The Wolfen and a dash of The Godfather, and you get a sense of some of the ingredients in this supernatural thriller."
This was the first Dean Koontz book I ever read. It was recommended to me by my dad, who also loves to read. I‘ve read this one a few times. I still love it.

Okay #groupv #LMPBC (which I had definitively said I could not do this round 😳🤭)... here are my thoughts on a #creaturefeature at this time... I looked most of these up! I only own 1 of them, but I‘ve read none. 😁
Let me know thoughts!!

Remember that old commercial with the panther sitting on the dresser in a couple's bedroom? Well, here's my little panther Hades watching (over?) me.
Of course, he has that look on his face like he was up there reading The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty that's right behind him. 😸

Definitely one of my top favorite Dean Koontz books

Continuing the 80s theme.....loved this book and author. But stopped reading him not long after this one as they became a bit ‘samey‘. Any comments on his more recent stuff - worth a read?
So good!
Finally can call this one complete. I struggle to see how it earned a place on the list for the #GreatAmericanRead. It was just ok. Perhaps I had trouble suspending disbelief as a member of the veterinary community, but I just couldn't buy it. #GARBingo #GAR #MakeAmericaReadAgain @4thhouseontheleft
Started this book 2 weeks ago and still only on page 61. Is it the book? Is it me? Is it life getting in the way? I'm not sure. I've just been having a hard time settling into it and becoming invested in the story. If I can't get into the groove today, I think I'm going to have to bail. It's for my #GARBingo card, so I really don't want to give up on it. #GreatAmericanRead #GAR #MakeAmericaReadAgain @4thhouseontheleft
It's a lovely morning to sit on the front porch with a cup of tea and an old, beat-up library book. I've decided it's time to focus on my #GARBingo card. #GreatAmericanRead #GAR #MakeAmericaReadAgain @4thhouseontheleft
This took me an unusually long time to read. Not because it wasn‘t good, but because life got in the way. I read this for the #greatamericanread and I‘m so glad I did. I‘ve read one other Koontz and it was good, but this was better. Dog lovers, pick this one up if you haven‘t already. Also, it was surprisingly thought-provoking, I thought. #garbingo #gar #pbs
Ps—I‘m loving The Great American Read! Loved that first episode.
His books can be hit or miss, but when they‘re good-they are GOOD!!

Gorgeous summer feeling weather here in my neck of the woods. I‘m outside under the Apple tree with my littlest babe. He‘s toddling around in the freshly cut grass and I‘m sneaking in a few pages of this dusty old paperback for the #greatamericanread #pbs #garbingo
• Another beautiful day. I hope they keep coming!! •

Babes and I are on the couch together. I‘m using this moment to read on my phone. I‘m stranded without my physical book 😔
That‘s ok, Watchers is interesting! #libby #ebook #bookandbabe
Starting my own bingo. I‘ve seen you all do it many times here on litsy, so I thought I would give it a go 😊 #greatamericanread #pbs #garbingo #blameitonlitsy
Just started Koontz‘s Watchers. Not my usual type, but I thought I‘d start off with something a little less challenging 🧐
1. Idaho originally but now in Nashville, TN
2. Watchers by Dean Koontz
3. The Black Dagger Brotherhood series by JR Ward
4. Breakfast at Tiffany‘s
5. Supernatural
6. Willy Braun (Reckless Kelly)
7. Purple
8. SciFi/Fantasy
9. Gaylord Opryland Resort
10. Sadly, no.
2-5 were hard choices but that‘s what I‘m feeling today.

I find myself not looking in mirrors sometimes to avoid finding imperfections to obsess about 😔
• I‘m so very glad I don‘t have to talk to people on my quiet-time transit rides home. I love that most people in the world seem to understand that when THE BOOK is out, your mouth should be SHUT. People just exhaust the pants right off me most days •

Can't properly review because it's not in the database. Let's call it so-so. Enjoyed the first half. Drifted in the second. Only my 2nd Koontz read. The first was 25 yrs ago. The ricochet moments reminded me of fun in-class writing assignments.

• I think I read this book years ago in high school but I can‘t remember what it was about! a man and his dog? got this borrowed paperback copy for easy on-the-go reading...ready to go at any moment—it‘s been staring at me for several months. as if I‘m not busy with enough books as it is; I don‘t need my books giving me the side eye and attitude! 😒😉 •
Great story telling and great story. Koontz's writing style keeps you captivated throughout the story and wanting to read more and more. It's hard to put his books down. Although the ending was predictable, it was still very well written and fun to read. I definitely recommend this book!
Ricochet Joe, a Kindle Short, by Dean Koontz. It's a Kindle in Motion as well. This illustration has straw movement (and a cameo by Diane Lane, apparently).
My second Kindle in Motion. The first being a Kindle Unlimited bail by Patricia Cornwell. I have nothing against KiM; it's an addition akin to vibrating seats in a theater.

#17booklove Day 22: Subject I Love. My favorite subject is HORROR. I love all things scary! Stephen King, Dean Koontz and Bentley Little are just a few of my favorite horror authors. I love books that will keep me up at night and stick with me for days after finishing. I just like to be scared. I thoroughly enjoy horror movies, as well!
#17booklove Day 5: Fiction Love. I decided to interpret today's theme as "love within a fiction book"; and since fur baby love is better than human love I chose Watchers! There is a relationship between the main character Travis, and a mysteriously smart golden retriever, Einstein. There is human love in this, but it's nowhere near as endearing as the love between a man and his dog.
Many moons ago I read everything Dean Koontz published and remember this being my #firsthorrorbook. I still love the dog.
#Allhallowsread
I know Dean Koontz is not everyone's cup of tea, but I read this book as a kid and I couldn't put it down. I would have done anything for a dog that could talk back to me! Einstein was everything in this book. Thanks, Dad, for always passing me your paperbacks when you were done with them no matter how age-inappropriate they were. #catsvsdogs #dogswin #octphotochallenge
I remember reading this when it first came out. One of those few books that I still feel like ... like I can feel the ripples of. In me. Like, I would have gone on to be somebody else, without this one. So cool to find a little library hardback of it at Goodwill. I have good will about this book. Maybe need to read it again, even. I read a waist-high stack of Koontz, looking for a repeat of this experience, too.
