Listened to this weekend for #Scarathlon this short horror story worked well as we wonder how much of it is the MC‘s grief-filled #Delusion

Good creepy vibe & the narration was great. This is the 2nd #CreatureFeature selection from Amazon that I‘ve tried.

Set in a world where the ocean has overtaken most of the land, North is part of a traveling circus that she performs in with her bear and Callanish lives on an island alone where she performs burial rites for those who die on the water. The writing is beautifully descriptive and the world building intriguing but the plot seemed to get increasingly muddled. #creaturefeature #fourfoursin23

Lying Cat sure qualifies as a #creaturefeature in Saga Volume 10 (everybody loves Lying Cat!), and Ship Wrecked is a perfect fit for #romanceexpanse , being a slooooooow burn romance set over many years. #readingchallenge

Imagine being a supernatural of the vampire, witch or demon variety, and having people telling you what to do, always. I can't imagine vampires would want to live forever with this sort of bureaucratic bullshit dominating their lives. I listened to the audiobook. The narrator was adept at the various accents but the weird way she drags out her "twooo"s grates. A book this large would benefit from having a second narrator of the male variety. ⬇️

I loved the idea behind this story. Loved Addie. Loved the writing style. If it hadn't bogged a little bit in the middle - 3/4ths section, it would have been a 5 star read. As it is, it was still a terrific book.

As it‘s 10:30pm here Halloween night, this will be the last full book I get through for #screamathon & #scarathlon. This has been a crazy, wild month. I haven‘t finished so many books in one month before! Let‘s just hope that I‘m as productive in November for NaNoWriMo. 🖋🎃☠️

There are 15 stories by 15 different authors in this anthology. I expected at least some of them to feature Sookie, but she was only briefly in one of them. Of the lot, 3 of them were moderately enjoyable. The remaining 12 varied from so-so to pointless filler. A waste of an audible credit. ☹
