This was a clever play on the original story, but I found it difficult to like Holly & root for her. 1st chapter is unnecessary, & I could have done without the time skip. Some interesting twists, not all that I predicted, & fun side characters.🌕🌕🌕🌑🌑

pickThis was a fun take on the classic Christmas Carol story. Holly Chase was a failed teenage “Scrooge” before she becomes the Ghost of Christmas Past for a new Scrooge each year. Five years in things change and end up going in directions she, and the reader, could never expect. It was really sweet, although I didn‘t really like Holly as a person until the end. This is perfect reading for the holidays! 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Overall I liked it. It kept me entertained, an easy read, and I enjoyed the story despite the predictably & plot holes.
Plus, it almost gave me a blackout bingo. Who knew in 2 holiday books that reindeer wouldn‘t be mentioned?! Minced pie, on the other hand, will probably be a bigger challenge.

pickThis was a funny and well narrated retelling of A Christmas Carol. I loved seeing Holly's POV and her developments. The pacing was fast and I liked how Ethans actions reflected on Holly. I loved how the original Christmas Carol elements were incorporated into this unique afterlife world. The ending was absolutely perfect, aside from the plot twists it was slightly predictable but still heartwarming and happy, such a good Christmas story!
pickThis was a great redemption front the last four books I read! I was hooked from the first page and never wanted to put it down. I loved the characters and noticed their steady growth throughout the book. I totally was not expecting any of the end twists, and because of the biggest one at the end I really wish the author was writing a sequel! 5🌟

This one started out a bit shaky for me and I almost DNFed. I stuck with it a little longer and it finally began to pick up 40-ish% through. The second half was so good! Holly and Ethan's twist was done beautifully, as was Holly's individual ending. Glad I gave this a second chance; I was pleasantly surprised!

pickI know it isn‘t even Thanksgiving yet, but I love Christmas and this time of year. So yes I have brought out my Christmas books already and started reading them. I was looking for an upbeat non-lovey dovey book and this 5 ⭐️ read checked all the boxes. It is a modern teenage tale of the Christmas Carol that left me feeling in such a Christmas mood when it ended. If only I could get my husband to let me put up the tree already 🤣.

pickBeen meaning to read this for ages - glad I finally got around to it! Speculative teen Christmas fiction is I guess how I'd describe it. Teenage girl was a scrooge 5 years ago, but didn't reform and died. Now she's working at Project Scrooge as the ghost of Christmas past, but when another teenage scrooge comes along, and he happens to be cute, she falls for him. I find Cynthia Hand's writing to be so entertaining and fun, a good brain candy pick

I did get into the last one hundred pages and I really liked how it ended. It was a fun Christmas read after all.
