Movie: Yesterday
I love my new bookmark 😂🫶🏻
So far this is a very interesting mind twist of an introduction!
Book 142🎧 4⭐️
This one is quite a mindfuck😂😵💫
Super interesting, very futuristic!
Beaten up on the way home one night, Jason finally wakes up to find out his wife is not his wife and his son was never born… 😬
Dark Matter is a sci-fi action-adventure flick in book form. Unfortunately, action storylines *really* aren‘t my thing, no matter what format they‘re in. My chances of liking this better as a movie would‘ve been higher, though, especially if it were a visually stunning film with a killer soundtrack. As it stands, the only appreciation I can give it is to say that the ending was well-done. It‘s just not the type of writing I want to read. 🤷♀️
First day of staycation from my library job? Visited a different library and got a stack of books. Of course. 😅 I was picking up the tagged, which is my book club book. But you all know it‘s impossible to leave with just one…
Isnt it funny when all your holds come in at the same time. I already had two books I checked out yesterday. I got alot of reading I have to do. #libraryhaul #bookaholic
2023 week 2 wrap up:

Do I look at the world differently after reading this? Absolutely
Book 2 of 2023! It took me a couple of years to come back to this one but I'm super glad I did. A nice sci-fi book with an incredible message ❤️

I really enjoyed the combination of horror elements, physics and a love story all wrapped in one. Jason‘s Doppelgänger forcefully trades worlds, he must fight through the multiverses and multiple Jason‘s to get back to his family: the glue keeping him together. The descriptions, writing style and constant questions kept pulling me in deeper. Intense and thought provoking, worth the hype.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I loved this book! I found it super absorbing and fast paced. The story was really intriguing. It‘s one of my husband‘s favorite books and now I see why. I‘m interested in reading more Blake Crouch!
I feel like this might be an unpopular opinion but i didnt thought this book waa the amazing book everyone talked about. Yes it was interesting and a very quick read but i felt like it was missing something. Everyone talk about how great of a book this is but for me it was just meh. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
I'm on vacation and have read 3 books so far. I enjoyed this one. His writing reminds me of Michael Crichton (but maybe only because they're both sci-fi?).
Oh my God I could not put this down. It‘s one of the most unique books I‘ve ever read. I can‘t say I can quite rap my head around some of the concepts, but it‘s not for lack of explanation, just the ideas being pretty unimaginable.
Saw a comment from Blake Crouch in regards to the 'Dark Matter' tv series that's being made. Did he just say 'first book'? Is Dark Matter getting a sequel?
“… used condoms on moldy carpet …” is about the grossest description I‘ve ever heard. 😷

There are books you recommend. Then there are books you want to go out and buy twenty copies of and give them to everybody like, ‘You have to read this now!‘
This is one of those books.
This is repeatedly popping up in my search for comps for my own novel. Pretty sure it isn‘t going to quite fit my needs, but it sounds too good to pass over.
About 2/3 of the way through this book I thought it was running out of steam and basically over bar the wrap-up and couldn't believer how much there was left to go, but then an unexpected twist, which nevertheless perfectly cohered with what had gone before, came and the last third was just as much of an enjoyable ride as the earlier parts of the book had been.
What a total mind f*ck and I loved it! A real page-turner with lots of action and tension. I will definitely watch the Apple TV+ series when it comes out!

Wow. I love when a book is entertaining and thought provoking. Definitely had some late nights both reading and thinking about what I just read.
Gripping, thought-provoking glimpse into what it might be like to encounter some of our infinite other selves in the multiverse. Poignant, fast-paced thriller with a rewarding ending.
This was an alright and quick read. I think I was mostly a little sad, because I thought there would be more to it than there actually ended up being. I had this hyped up to me, so I thought it wouldn't be as straightforward as I found it. However, I did enjoy the concept and execution of it. I will also say that I don't usually read first person pov, so that might have contributed to my experience.
🕰A page turner. Loved it! ⚛⏰

A little mind-boggling for me. I can‘t say I know anything about quantum theory and multiverses, so who knows how accurate this was. But it was a fun, suspenseful read!
⭐️⭐️⭐️
My daughter, for one, will be very excited to see this news. I imagine this is also true for many of us on Litsy. This book was a fun read and a series adaptation should be a lot of fun. Plus, Uncle Owen…I mean Joel Edgerton.
Yay Twitterverse with the fun news!
HOLY MOLY!! Wow wow wow. This year has been filled with good books, and this is definitely gonna be somewhere on top. 📖
Everything is about choices. Every time there is an option new universes open. So what happens when you try to reach the same goal a hundred different ways?
This was a journey into the lives that could be, whether Jason wanted them or not.

Ultimately kinda predictable, but still a really good and unique story. If you don't want spoilers, just read it 😌
A mind boggling journey through physics and an exploration of reality and memory. Physicist Jason Dessen invents a device that allows access to all the other versions of ones life branching off from all the minute choices we make on a daily basis. He needs to discover the truth and find his wife and child in a crazy battle in the metaverse. Hard to explain but a good read, makes you think....
I enjoyed every moment of this! It was such a fast-paced, exciting read with some twists that I absolutely did NOT see coming! Great pick, @rsteve388 !!!!

Got some book mail from @DGRachel today and I can't wait to start it! #lmpbc @rsteve388 @suvata
I clearly have an #unpopularopinion here, but after struggling through more than 100 pages, growing more irritated by the minute, and checked out some of the low reviews from Goodreads, so I know I‘m not alone, just in the minority. I found all of the characters annoying and struggled with the pacing. Crouch failed to give me a reason to care about the MC or the plot, so I‘m cutting my losses.
"So if the world really splits whenever something is observed, that means there's an unimaginably massive, infinite bumber of universes - a multiverse - where everything that can happen will happen."

Prompt: Face/Off
There are numerous parallels between the movie and the book. They both are Sci-Fi thrillers with a small dose of love on the side. The main characters trade places with another person or self.
Let‘s see how this goes. I‘ve been bailing on all the audiobooks I‘ve started lately.
