K.A. is an auto-buy author for me. I'm not sure how I feel about this one. It is her first foray into adult horror. The creep factor was there, and it was certainly gory. However, I expected more from the ending.

Although the book dragged in a couple of places it had the perfect "creepy/spooky" fall vibes I was looking for.
@Deblovestoread - thank you for the AMAZING #FBTBS package!! I can't wait to read The Shadow and Bone Trilogy and the Oregon bookmark is an awesome new one for my collection! The entire package was so thoughtful and made my day! The post it notes are already in my work bag for tomorrow! @Bookgoil
I was hesitant to read this one as it's everywhere with a lot of hype. Oh boy is it worth the hype! I could not put it down! Fantastic cast of characters and a great storyline. Love!
@TheLudicReader - how are you making out? Did you have to stay inside yesterday away from the smoke? Been thinking of you!
What a page turner! I went into this book expecting an unoriginal "only one survives" scenario, and I was pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong! This was a fresh take and an interesting mix of reality with a hint of the supernatural. Couldn't put it down!

I will make a collage for #hhs this week. I've never attempted one on my phone. I've tagged my fav fall/Halloween book that I read every October and the photo is a super cool coffee house I visited in Lethbridge, AB. When I think Halloween, this is my vibe. @wanderinglynn
My fav book of the series so far. I love Louise Penny's unique blend of "whodunit," mixed with character development, moral questions, actual history, and poetry. It's a seamless blend of so many genres into a fantastic fictional series.
Now this is the way to end the day. Sunshine, iced coffee, good book and my dog ♡
What a page turner! Really enjoyed this fictional book about people going missing in a national park and what might be the cause.
1. The Blair Witch Project
2. The original Scream movie - I've never viewed a bathroom stall the same.
3. Poltergeist - TV static *shiver*
Thanks for the tag @TheLudicReader and @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks .
Wanna play @DinoMom , @DebbieGrillo
I'm still collecting my thoughts on this one. It's propulsive and entertaining, but I'm not sure how I feel about the ending.
Thank you for the tag @TheLudicReader .

While on vacation in Lethbridge AB, I visited the amazing local indie bookstore Analog Books. While there, I met author Genevieve Graham, and she graciously signed a copy of her book and posed with me for a pic!!
Don't forget to sign up for @DinoMom 's awesome #athingaday giveaway!
Hi @Pogue - did your address change? The #litsylove letter I sent bounced back saying insufficient address info but it matches the Litsy Google doc :(
Conclusion of the Kingdom of the Wicked Trilogy. I enjoyed this book as much, if not more, than the previous two books. There is a satisfying conclusion while also leaving room for secondary characters to explore their own stories in further books. This series is auctioned packed with wide open door romance. An entrataining read.
This review will be ironic as the premise of this book is that a woman writes a poor online review of a book and then gets stalked by the unhappy author.
This book was not good. Extraneous gore, underwhelming writing, unlikable characters. The author tries to throw in every trope and plot twist you can think of related to murder.
100% would not recommend.
What a great book! Couldn't put it down. World building that is interesting but doesn't take pages and pages, interesting characters to root for and mystery and action to keep me turning pages. I've already ordered book 2!
While I enjoyed the premise - women coming into powers at middle age and kicking ass- the book felt way too long.
Non fiction. I enjoyed learning about New York's complicated first responder system and what a shift actually looks like for EMT's. The author was deeply affected by both 911 and Covid and her experiences are eye opening.
It took me 3 tries to get into this book. Audio was the magic choice. I did not feel interested in this book in the beginning, but by the end, I felt like a friend was giving me a hug.
Coffee, baking, music, magic, and found friends. A wonderful adult fairy tale.
Highly recommend to managers in the vet field. This book is choc full of examples from the vet industry and reviews issues unique to the field. Loved it so much that I've convinced my boss to purchase a copy for each of her clinic managers, and I'm going to host a book club about it!
I'd held off on reading this one as it had been posted everywhere, and I usually do not have good luck with really popular books.
This one was a great surprise! The characters were interesting, the storyline was fun (and at times made fun of itself), and the romance is full open door.
Would recommend!
This was very dry. I did enjoy the scientific research. They were able to prove that incivility impacts productivity, causes the loss of focus, and creates organizational instability. The most interesting part? Employees only need to witness incivility to have these effects!
Page turner! I enjoy it when I don't figure out "whodunit" until the end of a book.
Andrew's wife went missing six years ago. Everyone thinks he murdered her but they cannot prove it. Suddenly, she is spotted at their old house. Is it her or a decoy?
A great glimpse into The Darkling's past. I hope the entire series is adapted into graphic novel.
What a page turner! I started this book not realizing it was a sequel. It was still great as a stand-alone. The characters were really interesting, and the story was fast-moving.
Some parts of this were really funny and others were "meh." I loved the illustrations. They 100% made the book.
I've been down and out with a gastro bug the past couple of days and I needed something to read that would keep my attention without requiring too much thought. Coven fit the bill!! I loved the color palette and illustrations in this graphic novel and the story of teenage found (witch) family was interesting. I also really liked that it kept both my attention as an adult and my 11 year old was able to enjoy it as well.
When you are only on chapter 8 of a book and the author has already used the word "fecund" 6 times.
What a bright spot in my day! Thank you for the lovely cards @TheLudicReader , @KateReadsYA , @Deblovestoread
Apologies for the late posting @TheKidUpstairs - thank you for my lovely mug and tasty coffee! #muglove23 , @cinfen
Came across this one when @Andrew65 reviewed it. Classic "whodunit." I enjoyed the setting of the rural village with lots of questionable characters. Soft pic for me.
What a page turner! The subject matter is heavy - violent death, child death, non-consentual sex and prison. There were many times throughout this book that I felt yucky finding the writing so propelling. It's a pick but one I would only recommend to certain people. So many trigger warnings.

This is one of my fav self photos. I volunteered at a cat show this fall and got to meet this darling girl.
The best thing to happen to my family in the last 5 years is our.dog Raven.
Is anyone watching Will Trent? I am really enjoying it.
The first third of this book (science) was captivating, the middle third was really hard for me to get into (the politics of creating and passing bills in the US govt) and the final third was very interesting (court case).
This book delves into the US pharmaceutical medical compounding business and its surprising lack of safety checks. It is scary how many people have died due to contaminated medications.
What an excellent book. "A gut punch of a memoir by a doctor and comedian whose job it is to keep people alive by putting them to sleep."
We join Ed on his journey to becoming a doctor, deciding on a specialty and how covid turned the medical world upside down.
This book is honest, humorous, and sad at times.
I continue to love this series. Volume 4 is an important look at a teen realizing he has a mental illness and his boyfriend's experience loving someone who is battling a mental illness.
I continue to love this series of graphic novels. The author deals with heavy subjects (sexuality, mental health, peer groups) in a way that is very relatable to late middle grade and YA audiences.
