Most of this is just ICK! 🤢 My lowly number is almost all the beverages and cakes. All you pumpkin spice folks are welcome to all those things. Give me all the Apple, gingerbread, candy corn and real s‘mores.

If there is water to be found I will find it. Ocean, river, waterfall, stream or creek. And if possible my feet will be in it at the very least. I was very fortunate to live right on the Pacific Ocean the year before and during my parent‘s separation and divorce. The ocean and I spent hours together. The ocean held all my tears, all my screams. Water is where I go to process, to heal and for solace.

What is your mood today?
I started my day with awesome articles sent by friends and coffee. Ready to hold on to my joy with both hands and not let the f*ckers get me down.
#GoodNewsSunday
Tagged book is releasing Tuesday. In our current time where the federal government is doing their best to white wash history this book may be a necessary antidote.
The blurb about the Baillie Gifford prize caught my eye due to Yiyun Li‘s memoir. I read an interview and was so fascinated.
I love seeing the book world ban together to promote children reading. Find ways to help get books in the hands of children.
The tagged book is my first memory of loving a book. I still have my childhood copy. Unfortunately it shows some wear and that I possibly wasn‘t as kind to books as I am now 😢

#5JoysFriday
1) I am starting to get a bit of my reading mojo back.
2) Visiting my library is full of joy. Pleasantly surprised to see the book I mentioned in #GoodNewsSunday on the new shelf. Also that it supports the ACLU.
3) Pippin showing off his teeth.
4) Lunch dates with friends this week.

I realized I did last week‘s survey and never posted my results. I don‘t remember the exact number but I was thrilled it was more than half. Today‘s result is 26 out of 45.
Favorites are The Goonies, Hocus Pocus and Moonstruck.

We do care that you were kind enough to stop to allow us to cross the street. We do not care that you think we should move faster. Inching towards us does not help. We now have the right of way and you can‘t make us run.
Denise, it is not letting me tag you. So annoying.
#WeirdWordWednesday
A certain someone‘s voice is cacophonous to me. While in the literal sense of the word I might be wrong but the physical response I get when I accidentally hear it makes it seem so.
@CBee
Between yesterday and today I got all my #FallCardSwap cards mailed and I have received a few but haven‘t opened any yet. I think I am going to open one a day with my morning coffee starting tomorrow.
@TheBookHippie
I was only going to participate in one fall swap but then FOMO happened and here we are. There‘s a couple of days left to sign up for the #ModernWitchSwap hosted by @BookwormAHN . Sign ups for #AllHallowsReadSwap hosted by @MaleficentBookDragon are open until the 21st . Both of these swaps are lots of spooky fun. To join in go to their feeds for sign up links.

Last week was a bit tough. I was down in the dumps and struggling to find light. There is always light even if it is elusive at times. This week is starting off better. Share your mood today, good or bad.
#GoodNewsSunday
The tagged book sounds great with content from a multitude of authors, artists and others.
I haven‘t purchased anything from Kind Cotton but thought this is the kind of business I want to support. You might be interested as well.
And in other news a win against book banning in Alberta Canada. The full article can be found at the New York Times.
We all need good news, bookish or non in the current climate. Share yours. 💙

God, I‘m so tired of being American. Where money, control and power are all that matter. I want to believe in the American dream I was raised with but those in power want that dream only for themselves, to get richer and richer on the backs of the rest of us. The Cheeto even wants to take away today as a holiday because God forbid we aren‘t toiling to make them more money. Sorry my mood is very black today.
Favorite Zen Bookstore. If you have visited the tagged store you might not think it a place of Zen. It‘s huge and always busy. But once I‘m out of the lobby and am roaming the stacks it is heaven. A couple of hours later I finally find my way back to the front with an arm full of treasures.
@TheBookHippie #SereneSaturdays
#GoodNewsSunday
I have yet to read Firekeeper‘s Daughter but her newest, out on the 2nd, sounds good.
And thanks to @CBee I am getting good news in my email and found this article. The bookstore is People‘s. Book in Takoma Park, Maryland. If you visit tell them I said Well Done 🙌🏼
Share your good news, bookish or not. We all need reasons to smile and celebrate good things. Tag me if you do so I can smile with you.
Good mail day. Received a lovely card and bracelet from @maich from the #LitsySummerCardSwap. It is so pretty and a perfect fit ❤️. @TheBookHippie
And my #FallingForFallSwap box is on its way. Due to arrive Thursday. 🍁 @Avanders @Chrissyreadit
I used this collage, maybe last year, for some challenge on Litsy. It‘s what sprang to mind reading the quote
“I saw that she stood on the shoulders of a woman far older than she, who stood on the shoulders of a woman even older, who stood on the shoulders ….”
The b & w pics are the women who have raised us up, my grandmother(right) and stepmom who are intrinsic to who I am and some young women today who I want to support on my shoulders.
#WeirdWordWednesday
Ok, Dilly Dally is two words and not that weird but I loved the image and message so here we are.

#WeDoNotCare #WDNCW
We do not care that you call yourselves the party of family values. Your actions speak louder than words. You vote for gun toting lunatics, against mothers receiving life saving medical care, for people who abuse children, against children having food and the list goes on and on. Take your kindness and shove it.
#MondayMood
And all you Trumpers sitting in the warm glow of your guy being in the White House need to know that others are out there doing the work to keep children fed (including your children) CHILDREN will go hungry because of your vote. CHILDREN will be abused because of your vote. CHILDREN WILL DIE BECAUSE OF YOUR VOTE! Hell is too good for the lot of you. Christians do not let children go hungry! Think about it!

The tagged is a medium low pick for me. I am always fascinated by dwindling island population stories. A short book with short sections that sometimes left me wanting more.
@Read4life @Librarybelle
#GoodNewsSunday
Not too many books releasing Tuesday but I love books about books and secret societies so this might be fun. I know lots of us are also interested in Katabasis by R. F. Kuang
It is always good news when money flows into libraries to promote the FREEDOM TO READ.
If you have some good news please share it.

Another fantastic birthday week.
1) My brother and I gift books on our birthdays. Last year he brought me two books from Switzerland, both of which I already had. This year he brought me KL and was sure I hadn‘t heard of it. I had to tell him I just finished Book 2. He asked where I heard about it and said from my Litsy family. His response was “I hate those people”. 🤣 I am thrilled to have a physical copy.
2) Guilty pleasure ⬇️
@Chrissyreadit
Happy Happy Birthday! I hope today is filled with love and joy and every little thing that makes you feel special!
OMG, Donna! I unwrapped the middle guy in the photo and it brought tears to my eyes. What a fun, joyful box to unwrap and wonder over. Everything melted my stodgy old heart in the best possible way. Thank you so much for thinking of me. What a lovely surprise to brighten my day. @MemoirsForMe

I prepared this board this weekend and it is probably a good thing as I woke up grumpy this morning.
Share your mood, good or lousy, and tag me.

Three, out of 33, books that are releasing Tuesday that have my interest. And some good news against book banning and freedom to read movement.
Happy Sunday!
As the tagged is the only book finished this week it is the favorite of the week. Not quite as endearing as the first, it was still an enjoyable listen.

1) A lovely anniversary dinner Tuesday with a Prosecco toast starter and a butter cake dessert. 37 years ❤️
2) Our short 1 mile hike to Lower Soda Falls
3) A lovely package of goodies from @TheLudicReader and gifts from @dabbe The sand in the hour glass is a perfect match on my mantle. Thank you both so much ❤️
4) Lovely HB wishes from this community and my #BBB peeps
5) Salmon for bday dinner
Lots of joys this week.
We do not care that last night we needed socks to cover our toes that were as cold as ice cubes and today we hiked specifically to the waterfall so we could put those toes in ice cold water. First of all, manufactured cold is different from mother nature cold and secondly, it isn‘t necessary that you understand my choices.

Picked up some fun things at the post office. Thank you @TheLudicReader and I‘m assuming the mystery Amazon box is from a Litten but I‘m obeying (something I rarely do 😂) the instructions. Hope you don‘t mind that I open a day early before I leave town for the weekend Thursday afternoon.

My daughter took me to a fused glass class. These will eventually be wind chimes but are in their pre kiln state in the pic. Her‘s is the kitties on the left. So adorable. Mine on the right. I DO NOT need another craft in my life but it was so much fun. I would definitely go again.

I have been pondering kindness lately. We‘ve all seen the quotes reminding us of the importance of kindness but I find most kindness to be superficial, at best. True kindness promotes inclusivity and diversity. Here‘s some info I found regarding the different types of kindness.

I haven‘t read The Book of Doors but the description of the tagged gives off The Librarians vibes. Out on Tuesday.
In book news three library levies passed in Washington. Keeping libraries open and funded is so important. My hometown library‘s collection is 100% funded through donations and fundraising. Check in with your library to see if they need help.
And a bit of national news to share esp. for disaster prone areas.

I love when random things pop up on my IG that I fall in love with immediately. This is Mathilde. The song is A la goire des femmes en deuil. I do not speak French. I could not find any other English translation so here‘s the link to IG

@TieDyeDude Funny you mentioned French pop music and this pops up on my feed.
As our Cheater-in-Chief continues to destroy lives, tear up history, and make things harder for us to make ends meet it is no wonder many of us are reeling. It is a daily assault against those of us who believe in “liberty and justice for all”. Those of you who aren‘t bothered or support this crap need to find your souls.

Two books releasing on Tuesday that have caught my eye. There are so many Austen related books being published this year honoring her 250th birthday.
And I love seeing that Bookshop.org is thriving.
Sharing good news in the onslaught of daily shit news creates hope. Share yours, bookish or not.
I LOVED this book. It created some anxiety but the way it‘s told gives relief from the intensity. I only have one small quibble. Seaside used to be a bit tatty back in the day with its arcade, carnival rides and snack booth at the end of the turnaround. And we avoid it like the plague in the summer but I think it‘s come along way from tatty.
Looking forward to the discussion next week.

Hanging out in my sewing room. Music or audiobook on, working on or planning a project or reorganizing my space. I was recently given a label maker so my next job is to label all my project totes.
@TheBookHippie
Still not reading as much as I usually do but loved everything I read this month. Not pictured are Under the Painted Sky and Death of the Author.
I‘ve thrown the towel in on almost all challenges and am letting my mood take me where it will. Luckily the #CampLitsy books are working for me.
#WeDoNotCare that we have 1000+ reading choices at home. It is important to support our local library and support authors who are fighting the good fight plus a couple Booker nominees.

Hope you had a good flight and are having the best time! @dabbe
My last BOTM box sorted. I haven‘t been thrilled with many of the choices lately but wanted a free b‘day book. Will cancel when it arrives.

We live on the same street as a fire station and they have to go past us to get to a large retirement community so daily sirens are a thing. Sirens are Pippin‘s worst thing ever. I combat it with having music on almost continuously. On the light classical channel this came up and I love it so much. There‘s something about choral music that fills my soul even when I don‘t know the words.
