panThe last 400 pages were a decent read, the first 800 not so much. Tons of characters were introduced apparently to allow Author to dive into some obscure obsession and then they were gone. On the other hand, in a city the size of Paris when one character was attempting to hideout there was a ridiculous number of coincidental meetings. Jean valjean, the Bishop, and Gavroche were great. Marius was a moron and Cosette insipid. No more big books!

My three new B&N collectable editions came todsy! I grabbed these during the 3 for $25 sale. I really really wanted to get six but it's harder to hide six massive tomes 😂😅
I've been wanting to replace my old bind up of Poe for years, and I am so in love with the filigree on both Sherlock and Les Miserables 😍😍

Day 3 of #requiredreadingredo... I‘m so so sorry about this one... I LOVE Les Mis the musical. Almost obsessively. It‘s playing in my car now in fact... but this book was hard and heavy and I read it very young. I also didn‘t “read” and instead listened to the audio book, so that could have contributed to my dislike. #lesmis #24601 @ErinSueG

Last night was a gorgeous night for reading a few chapters outside! Yes, I‘m STILL reading Les Mis. I‘m probably close to 3/4 of the way through. Ah! Little Cosette is now with Valjean and all is right in the world.
While Book Second on the Battle of Waterloo was rough, I feel like Book Third was the reward for having made it through. Valjean‘s role as Cosette‘s redeemer is just perfect.
Also, I can‘t stop hearing the songs from the musical keep going through my head. 😂🎶
