Despite reading for almost 11 hours, I have been awful and not finished a book. I did however find a couple DNF options and finally start and make it half through the next Land of Stories. Anxiety kept me out of work today so I'll read a bit more

The book was well writing and very imagenatory. This book is very good book to expand your mind to and believe and things that you have never believed in; like frogs that talk and pigs that fly. I will not spoil the book for you , but if you love fantasy and want to live it through a book just like those fairy tales that your mom read to you? Then this is your book .

Listened to it at work. Entertaining.

this book is a fantasy book about all the fairytale stories that we heard as a child becomes a reality. two kids enter the fairy tale land where everything is perfect or is it?

Genre: Fantasy
Book started: Sep 17
Book finished: Oct 2
Why did i choose this book: because i read the first one in the summer and i really liked that fantasy and how it ended with suspense. Fairy tales were a big thing for me in my childhood

3⭐️—— this book was good there were points where i was frustrated with the characters but it wasn‘t drastic and didn‘t ruin the story. It was a pretty simple storyline but it is for young readers and i liked that the second books stakes got higher than the firsts

Chris Colfer still suffers from a case of telling instead of showing, but I could see his growth as a writer in this book. It was an enjoyable read; I liked it more than the first one, and it ended on an interesting note that left me excited for the next book in the series! Mother Goose is such a fun character, And it sounds like we will see more of her in the next one!

Maya is at Y camp this week. I should be getting some work done, but decided to take a mental health day. I love my family, but I desperately needed alone time!

Lots of reading, another awesome 🚲 ride with another personal record (ended up 20 output points over my PR from a few days ago!), & a protein/greens recovery drink to keep my healthy eating on track - I almost reached for 🍨. 😂

And maybe I‘ll finish a book today! #bfcr3 #teamfitlit

AmyG I certainly understand. Enjoy you time. 3mo

LapReader The children wouldn‘t survive if I didn‘t get alone time. 3mo
4thhouseontheleft @AmyG I did, thank you! @Tamra Definitely! @LapReader Now that my daughter is older (she‘s 11) it‘s not bad, since she is pretty self-sufficient. But I do really like to be alone in the house every once in a while! 3mo
Balibee146 I hear you about alone time.... I'm almost never totally alone at the mo.... Need to go for walks without dog (oh the sad puppy face 🐶🐶) to achieve it occasionally. Nicely done 👏👏👏 3mo

I finished this one last week and forgot to review it. It is the second in the series and it was a fun one. There are some great new characters introduced-Mother Goose is awesome! I will say it took Alex and Connor a little longer than I would have liked to get to the Land of Stories but their quest once there was a great adventure. Again I highly recommend the audiobook-Colfer does a fantastic job narrating.

Ericalambbrown I love this so much! I love that you have a 5th grade reading buddy 💕 I had to look it up - I had no idea that he wrote books! (edited) 1y
LibrarianRyan This is great. There is a program at the local middle school where they match kids with an adult and they read a book together and journal back and forth. My only problem with the program is that the kids don‘t get to pick the books. They are picked by a teacher based on what they have two copies of. Great program but ugghhh on the book selection. I would love to read this with one of them. 1y

JoScho @LibrarianRyan I love the journal idea. I only teach this kid once a week so it is hard to talk about the book with him. It would be better if the kids got to pick books they actually wanted to read. This just fell into place but I kinda love how passionate he is about the books. 1y

Listening to this audiobook (such a cute series!) while I enjoy a piece of pumpkin pie. I‘m still eating soft-ish food since having my wisdom teeth out a few days ago, so pie is a good choice. Not that anyone needs an excuse to enjoy some pie. 😉

"I feel like reading something light and happy to take my mind off everything going on in the world. Oooh, an epigraph! I love epigraphs! What's this one say?"

Nice try, me.

SauerPatch "The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in a time of moral crisis." This one was at the beginning of Dan Brown's Inferno, which I tried to start reading during the American election season last year. It was unsettlingly poignant... 2y
Laalaleighh @SauerPatch I got about halfway through inferno and never finished it for some reason but I do remember that epigraph. I can't imagine reading it during the election season. I was nothing but nerves and frustration and fear and tears last year. Unsettlingly poignant is a perfect description. 2y

In honor of his new book (Stranger Than Fanfiction) I'm sharing photos from the time I slept on a NYC sidewalk for 24 hours just to give Chris Colfer a bear I'd made as a thank you for helping me through some bad times. This also happens to be my favorite book in this series, which you should read if you haven't! They are very Narnia-esq in terms of magic and adventure (without the religious overtones). 💜 Cannot wait to read his new YA book!

BookFreakOut 24 hours on a sidewalk, that's hardcore! 😱 Were lots of people doing that? 3y

LittlePixels I've never heard of these books, but my daughter *loves* the Narnia series. Would the be appropriate for a 10 yr old? Also, that bear is adorable!! ❤️ 3y
CatLadyBibliophile @LittlePixels Thank you! My dad taught me to make them ? They're middle grade/children's books so I think they'd be great for a 10 yr old. They are big but most of the language is geared for young young readers. The later books get a touch dark (nothing outrageous but there is a "war" for a kingdom throughout the series). 3y
