Battling a sinus infection so I‘m up early, have taken my medicine, and I‘m trying to relax long enough to get through a portion of this book, and a bigger portion of the Girl Scout cookies 😲

EvieBee Oh no, hope you feel better! But your “medicine” sounds perfect. 🍪 2y
BeckaroniAndCheese @EvieBee thanks! It really was the perfect medicine 😛 2y

Loved the elephant facts peppered throughout but boy, I never saw that twist coming! I thought I had it all figured out until the last few chapters. Thumbs up for this one. 👍🏻

Hump day = hard time getting started this morning. Maybe a few chapters will give me the energy to get dressed and get to work. ☕️📖

Buechersuechtling It‘s funny that you‘re one of the many people that seem to find Wednesday to be „the hardest day“ of the week. For me it has always been getting up on a Thursday. Because of this„the-work-of-the-week-is-almost-done-but-not-quite-although-I-definitely-could-use-a-rest“-feeling. 11mo

We've traveled over 2,400 miles in the last few days. On the home stretch now back to warmer temps and ocean views. Having someone to share the driving responsibility has allowed me the chance to dive into my first book of 2018. I can't wait to get home and get some laundry started!

umbrellagirl You mean it isn‘t just a video game 🤣 2y
BeckaroniAndCheese @umbrellagirl Nope 😉I'm only a few pages in but I think it's going to be a good one. I have family that has wagon wheel ruts on their property so it's one that hits close to home. Can't wait to dive into this one in earnest this weekend. 2y
umbrellagirl Sounds interesting. My US family plonked themselves down in PA and never left. 2y
BeckaroniAndCheese @umbrellagirl That's a good place to be! Mine did not - some joined the Mormon Trail, some headed to Southern California during the Civil War to fight, and some ended their journey in German settlements in the Midwest. We have some of their journals and even a glass pitcher that crossed the country in a covered wagon. People are resilient. 2y

It's stupid muggy and hot in San Diego this week. Without air conditioning, most of us don't know how to deal with "real" summer weather. My goal today is not to sweat my ankles off, and hopefully find a cool place to read after work and other errands.

I know a lot of you liked this book but I have absolutely no idea what's going on. Maybe it's because it's audio and I'm missing things I would have seen in print. I think I might have to ditch this one.

Redjewel_7734 I could see that this one could be hard to follow in audio. I enjoyed reading the print version-you may want to give that a shot before completely bailing 😊 2y
BeckaroniAndCheese @Redjewel_7734 I think that's the plan. I don't hate it, it's just not making any sense on audio. I'll find a print copy later. 2y
Cinfhen I actually hated this book, but I'm in the minority and I did the print version 🙈 2y
