This was my third Discworld novel and it cemented my love for Pratchett. This one works well as a stand alone. In it, con man Moist von Lipwig is saved from hanging by Lord Ventenari and subjected to an even worse punishment: he is tasked with bringing the moribund Ankh-Morpork post office back to life. Throw in Golem‘s rights, a little romance, and a lot of humor and voila! Pratchett deftly skewers corporate greed and much more.
