Despite guessing some of the mystery, I really enjoyed this ride. There was a lot going on, but it didn't feel convoluted, and I liked the main character. She was engaging and so was the story.

#FirstLineFridays I have been on a thriller kick for way too long, but I can't seem to stop. They're addictive, and this one is no exception!
Wow. This author just became a one click buy for me. This book was excellent. I could not put it down. I did not remotely guess the ending. A few twists were on my radar, but I was truly shocked at how this came together. Excellent writing, excellent story. This is a new favorite for me that I will be recommending to everyone.
I cannot remember the last time I read an entire book (that wasn‘t a novella) in one day. Needless to say this story was excellent.
Twenty years ago, Naomi, Olivia, and Cassidy spent their summer days playing in the forrest, until one of them is stabbed 17 times and left for dead.
This book was a lot darker than I was expecting (ok I know it's about a kid getting stabbed but I wasn't quite prepared for the additional trauma that was weaved throughout).
Did some #audiocrafting to this book and finished this little dude #litsycrafters #littenlisten #scarathlon #BatBrigade

“What Lies in the Woods” is a creepy and dark mystery that is full of lies, betrayals, and misdirection. I anticipated one of the plot twists that occurred earlier on, however I didn‘t have to worry about that happening again as the plot/backstory became a bit too convoluted. This was an interesting read with an interesting premise, however it did not stand out very much with me.
Look what arrived in the mail! Thank you, Misty @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks for the spooky October surprises! I‘m feeling the #Litsylove 🎃❤️
It‘s been a crazy week, I thought I‘d be a lot further along in my #bucketlist 😅 Oh well I guess that means I have more to look forward to this month! #scarathlon #batbrigade
Not far into this story, I was convinced this would be a meh kind of thriller because even I had figured out who the ultimate bad guy was going to be. Then the twists came and kept coming until the twists turned into a cat 2 tornado. And again I‘m forced to admit I suck at guessing a good thriller‘s ending!
4/5 ⭐
Another great read. Even if it was were predictable, it was an interesting read. The story pulls you right in and I could barely put it down.

Naomi, Olivia and Cassidy had a terrible secret when they went into the woods as young girls 22 years ago. Naomi is carried out with multiple stab wounds. They identify a serial killer as the attacker who already being sought by the police. This OK thriller recounts the adult Naomi‘s search for the truth behind her horrible attack, and death/danger is stalking them again. Lots of red herrings but the big reveal is not a surprise.
This is one of the better thrillers I have read lately. Almost until the end I kept second-guessing what I thought was happening.
This was a great mystery/thriller. Couldn‘t turn the pages fast enough and was guessing until the end. Will be seeking out more books by this author.
Hubby fishing…🎣 I am on the sandbar reading 🇺🇸❤️💙
Finished my usual 7 books. Five were library books. I‘m easily swayed by the new and shiny while books sit on my shelves. 😜 But all in all a good month

While I enjoyed this book, I very early on the truth of what happened in those woods when they were eleven; there were quite a few aspects that reminded me of some true crime cases. There were some surprises along the way and I still found myself in the grips‘ of the story. I enjoyed the audiobook as well. Vacker creates suspense with her pace, inflection, and the emotion within her voice. She brings the characters to life, as well as the story.

The reveal wasn‘t a huge surprised but it was over all an entertaining story!
A little girl stabbed 17 times, but she miraculously survives and identifies her attacker. A serial girl who took countless other girls. But almost 2 decades later someone shares a secret…
This is a weird story about 3 girls who went through a tragedy together. Naomi, who was attacked and almost killed, while her two friends hid, has gone back home to meet up with those friends after the man that attacked her has died in prison.

I loved this twisty thriller. Guessed a few things, missed some others. It was one enjoyable wild ride.
The man convicted of nearly killing Naomi when she was 11 has died, prompting her to go back home. But she starts to wonder if he was really her almost murderer. This mystery takes off from there on a very satisfying ride. I was able to guess some twists but not others. Engrossing read!
I really enjoyed this thriller. There were so many twists and turns that kept me on my toes. Just when I thought I had things figured out, another one came along. #BOTM
This is a very quick thriller- it reminded me of the cadence of a YA novel. I read it fast to verify my ability to identify the killer. That being said, I could list it‘s faults, but I did read it in a day. It‘s a perfect beach book, maybe not a book club book.
Soft pick! It definitely kept my interest; but with all the hype, I thought it would be better. It may be a ‘me‘ problem though. I‘ve read too many thrillers in a row.
Three girls played in the woods as children and one of them is almost murdered by a serial killer. The friends identify the man and he‘s put in jail for the rest of his life. In adulthood, we realize that maybe all three girls lied about what happened that day.
This isn‘t like the best thriller ever, but I enjoyed it. I have not tired of the old case/someone has a podcast/serial killer thing going on in some books. I did have what I would say was the big twist figured out and I knew another thing almost instantly, but not the rest of it. Especially one moment which surprised me. Could this review be more vague?
I am either a mystery guessing wizard or books are just getting easier to figure out 🤣. It seemed pretty obvious from the get-go who the “big baddie” was, although I will say it was a wild ride full of twists and turns that I wasn‘t expecting on the way to the biggest reveal (the one that was easy to guess). It was unique enough that I still enjoyed it, I just really wish I could find a book that completely surprises me 😔. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
The intensity of tween female friendship forms the basis of this twisty but somewhat predictable thriller.
This book is about the lies people tell, both to protect and harm, and what people do to protect those lies. It's also about finding trust and honesty within oneself. I guessed most of the ending, but not the why. 4 stars

Ooh, I actually really liked this one! Twisty in a way I wasn't anticipating. I had suspicions (some right, some wrong), but overall I was just hooked and turning the pages as quick as I could to get to the bottom of it. #BOTM has picked a lot of mediocre thrillers, but I personally *don't* consider this to be one of them! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
February has been a slump for me. This is only the second book of the month. I did, however, make the throw that lies under the book. The 1st I have ever made. It isn't perfect, but I love it.
The book took me 3 weeks to read, but that had more to do with me than the book. I never settled on who the killer was before it was revealed, but I did figure out other things.
