I decided to go back through some of my books that I received in swaps. I'm so glad I finally read this Beauty and the Beast retelling! it's been 4 years since I received it. #betterlatethannever

I don't know why I'm surprised by enjoying French's book the most for the first half of the year, but I am. Seeing that it was published way back in 2007, I'm rather late to the show. #betterlatethannever 🤩

Stop 3….. the movie theater… a little time to read before the previews start

This is very much a #summer book. Aside from some backstory information, it takes place from mid May until roughly September. There are thunderstorms and baby animals and an exuberant growing season. I started it in winter and finished in late spring. The pace of my listening corresponded with the leisurely pace of the book, and I especially liked the birdsong between chapters.

A friend recommended that I watch a TV movie about the widow of Richard Carlson. After watching, I decided to look for the copy of his very popular book, which I knew was in my TBR piles. Found it, and finally read it! I found it kind and uplifting with easy strategies to help bring happiness into your life. Actually, I am now thinking of buying copies to give for Christmas gifts! #betterlatethannever

Hard to read for content- one has to be in a place to receive this story. Organizationally I was unsettled between storylines and point of view. Worth a read, skip the audiobook as there are text features and graphics that you will miss. #julydoublespin #betterlatethannever

I think I liked this more the first time around. You can see Alina trying to come into her own more which I great but she's still very much in the background when it comes to Mal. I'm hoping she finds her way to becoming the badass I can see her being 🤷‍♀️
