The Kind Worth Killing
The Kind Worth Killing: A Novel | Peter Swanson
Shares a lot of Gone Girls hallmarks but cranks up the volume . . . Entertainment WeeklyOn a flight from London to Boston, Ted Severson meets the stunning Lily Kintner. Over martinis, the strangers play a game in which they reveal intimate details about themselves. But what begins as playful banter between Ted and Lily takes a turn when Ted claims, half-seriously, that he would like to kill his wife. Then Lily surprises him by saying that shed like to help.Back in Boston, Ted and Lily forge an unusual bond and talk about the ways Ted can get out of his marriage. But Lily has her own dark history shes not sharing with Ted. As Ted begins to fall in love with Lily, he grows anxious about any holes in their scheme that could give them away. And suddenly the two are pulled into a very lethal game of cat and mouse, one in which both are not likely to survive when all is said and done.[It] would have made a great Hitchcock movie.Fort Worth Star-TelegramExtraordinarily well-written.Nelson DeMille

The first half of this book was ok and then it became dull and unbelievable. I liked the stories from the past better than the main plot.

A solid, relatively fast-paced thriller that was very easy to read. Most of the characters were unlikeable and I guess that was on purpose. It didn't leave any big impressions on me but I enjoyed it nevertheless.
Second and last book finished for #24in48.

With more than 6 hours passed reading ever since the start of the #24in48 readathon, it seems highly unlikely that I'll be able to reach the target of 24 hours. So my goal is to finish the 2 books I started by the end of the readathon: The Kind Worth Killing and Poet X.

Kinda last minute, but I just found out about #24in48 and decided to sign up! I don't have high hopes about achieving 24 hours but any amount I spend reading will be considered a win. I also don't have books planned out, I'll just wing it 😁

Ted meets Lily in Heathrow airport bar, where both of them are waiting for their flight back to Boston. They also share the same aisle in the #airplane . After a drink too many, they hatched up a plan to murder Ted‘s wife.
An enjoyable read with a few good twists. 👍

Another well done psychological suspense mystery from Peter Swanson. Lots of twists!

The premise in the beginning was a bit far fetched for me, but as the story continued it all started to fall in line. Suspense at every corner - along with a few unsuspected turns! I love when a story can do that and it still flows. The multiple POVs and altered timelines gives this book an extra jolt of thrill. As a redhead myself, I found I quickly fell in love with Lily. Heck of an ending too!

This has great reviews and was highly recommended by a colleague of mine, but I really didn‘t like it. I can get down with unlikable characters but all of them were just so... boring! Lily was the least boring but her motives were baffling and entirely lacking nuance. So this was more like The Kind Worth Skipping for me 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is an excellent thriller! As soon as I turned to page one the chase was on! There are quite a few twists in the story that sometimes you have to put your brain on pause and say, "WTF?!". LOL I love a great anti-hero and Lily is definitely it. I know I was rooting for her to get away it. Simply put, I loved this book. I cannot wait to see the movie! ?

I liked the way each chapter was each main character telling the story and it was a page turner. Totally fiction of course and that was part of the appeal, some unrealistic events. Hated the ending.... ugh left me feeling... ugh!
