FINALLY finished this one after reading it for 3.5 months. It was so good and well researched, just heavy and emotionally difficult to read in some places. It is well worth any reader's time.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I was honored to be able to read this. Hamby gives such value and justice to these devastating accounts of hard working miners who were affected by Black Lung Disease.

Mexican Gothic | Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Just WOW! This book was both parts fascinating and terrifying. It was exactly what was looking for and I definitely need more novels like this. I can see how this book wouldn't be for everyone, but holy cow, everyone should at least give it a try. This bizarre, twisted tale of a dysfunctional family, romance, murder, and ghosts will certainly take you on a different ride than what you were expecting.

This series is fantastic. Hours pass while I'm immersed in this world losing all track of time. This author has an amazing ability to put her characters in the worst situations ever and write the most amazing, hateful villains. The portrayal of war and genocide almost takes it out of the YA genre, but so well done. #highlyrecommend #mustread

The wonderful thing about #ThingsInCommon April challenge is I‘m blowing through my personal backlist of unread books/audio 😁

Clwojick Woohoo! You‘re crushing it! ❤️ 2mo
Cinfhen It‘s been fun @Clwojick I‘m literally letting the books guide me 😁and there‘s still another 10 days to go!!! 2mo

BarbaraBB I love your associations! 2mo
TrishB I loved Assembly, very moving. 2mo
Clwojick I know! I‘m definitely going to have to do this challenge again! I planned most of my reading ahead of time, and it‘s helped me prioritize my NetGalley and Chirp audiobooks. I have a bad habit of hoarding my digital collection just as much as my physical collection. 🤣 2mo
Cinfhen I‘m not feeling Assembly @TrishB so it‘s going on pause and I‘m making a new association for Eudora @BarbaraBB @Clwojick - a #NetGalley #ARC #MustRead - and both authors are named Annie 😁 2mo

Eating Animals | Jonathan Safran Foer

This was educational and eye opening that has lead me to look into where my animal products come from. This is an important read for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. He doesn't so much push vegetarianism as take an anti factory farm stance encouraging people to learn where their.meat comes from. This was written pre COVID and I would #highlyrecommend for the section on pandemics and WHO'S comcern for the next one. It is 100%accurate. #mustread

I have no words to describe this book. It‘s a fun and fast read and you find that the main character is quirky, naive and likable. Two thirds through the book, omg!!!! I can see why there‘s a movie already in the making. Good job Nita, good job. I applaud you 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻 #themaid #nitaprose #goodread #soontobemovie #mustread

“…told with such exquisite humor and illustrated with such wonderful, biting drawings that, in spite of its darkness, I savoured every word, and every picture. A treat.” ~ Uri Shulevitz

This book is sooo good! It reminded me of 1984 for modern times. The idea of what would happen if big brother combined with big business. The author has executed it so well it feels possible. The comparisons to Amazon and Walmart were there and I feel like I could get more from this story from a reread because it is so clever. #pop22 #popsugar #highlyrecommend #mustread

Happy #memoirmonday! Listen you guys! This book came out in November. But I didn‘t buy it until yesterday. I didn‘t jump right into it because honestly I didn‘t think it was going to be that good. I thought it would be just “ok”. Well listen here…this book is goood!!! I can‘t wait to finish work so I can go read some more. Porsha is spilling ALL her tea☕️ regarding her romantic relationships. I‘m loving it😆! #memoirs #mustread #blackbooksmatter
