A copy of Little Women for my mom for Mother‘s Day (I don‘t think she‘s ever read it??? But we saw the Greta Gerwig version in theaters together when it came out) and a couple for my own pile because 🤷🏻♀️ #bookhaul
Tag, everyone!
1. Flying to Texas to see my mom, returning on Easter Sunday to eat candy with my kids :)
2. I haven‘t really had one yet, but several three-star ratings. The level of the sex scenes in The Kiss Quotient was way too much for me, though. I‘m not a hardcore romance fan.
3. Little Women! I read it over and over again, and also several of Alcott‘s other books. I still have my Little Women series hardbacks from childhood.
Here ya go, @eeclayton our list for the year! If anyone would like to join us for these buddy reads, let me know. Be warned, my hashtags are often ridiculous and always chapter spoilers, so you should read the chapter before you read the hashtags! I have a master list that I use before we start each book, and then a book specific tag list that I use for each book. #hashtagbrigade #pemberlittens
Hi, I‘m new here. Starting the new year with a new #readingjournal (old one isn‘t full yet, but I needed space for my #tbr and #readinglog )
I Plan to finally read #littlewomen through the App serial reader. Any recommendations for other Classic I should read this year?
Little Women is one of many.
This is on my mind since I saw the movie last night.

Finally saw this version. Starz says it's a Holiday movie so I am counting it! 😬😉

This article appeared in the July 7, 2023 edition of The Guardian. A scholar has found several stories that may have been written by Louisa May Alcott.

This was the first (of three-ish) classics I‘ve read that I‘ve actually enjoyed. Despite how long ago it was written, the writing flowed smoothly and didn‘t feel crammed with unnecessary descriptions (cough-Dickens-cough). 4.5⭐️
Visited Louisa May Alcott at the National Portrait Gallery.
Been wanting to read some #classics but they're not easy to #read (or interesting 😂). I initially felt the same about #LittleWomen, esp since all the characters kind of had similar personalities/they didn't stand out. But Jo. Jo really carried the story!
That said, I think the story didn't age entirely well. Not good, not bad
I was young when I first read 'Little Women'. I think I enjoyed it more this time. Of course, now I am in my fifties and it read differently than when I was younger. We follow the 4 March girls to womanhood, Meg, Jo, Amy and Beth. It is a great journey with sadness and happiness mixed in, just as life often is. If it has been awhile since you have read it, I think you ought to reread it and witness how you have changed.

Amy in the second half is 🔥🔥
“Amy's lecture did Laurie good, though, of course, he did not own it till long afterward. Men seldom do, for when women are the advisers, the lords of creation don't take the advice till they have persuaded themselves that it is just what they intended to do. Then they act upon it, and, if it succeeds, they give the weaker vessel half the credit of it. If it fails, they generously give her the whole.”

Here is my #SpecialEditon of Little Women. It's a pretty pale blue cover. I won this on Instagram a few years ago 🩵

This book had comforting atmosphere: while they had struggles there was always some sugar-coating.
Every chapter is like it's own story and this didn't have the best imaginable flow that books can have. Time has also done some things and when nowadays readers can make their own conclusions here everything is told to you and there is no room for own thoughts.

Bath 🛀 time reading 📖 that cosy relaxing time between Christmas and new year ☺️
Just finished my #doublespin for December. I really enjoyed this book and see that the newest movie adaptation is the most like the book. @TheAromaofBooks Hey Sarah. I need a link to sign up for #bookspinbingo for 2023 please.
#WinterReadathonDailyChallenge #ChristmasDecorations as they‘re described in Little Women always reminded me of holidays growing up Jewish. There are a few minor holidays that included physical decorations (sometimes including Hanukkah) but religious holidays (like Christmas was for far more people in the time of this book) were mostly marked by big feasts and fancy tables. @Andrew65 @DieAReader @GHABI4ROSES

What a beautiful prompt. Very cliched, but I would love to be a part of the end of Little Women, when it ends with Christmas!

1. Nothing in particular! There isn't really a holiday beverage as such in India
2.I love the Carol of the bells, Jingle Bell Rock, Fairytale of New York,Slade's It's Christmas!!

This book was published in 1868, and is considered one of the first books for children. This book follows four sisters; Meg, Jo, Beth, and Amy in their journey of growing up. This is a great book, and I would definitely recommend it, however I am not sure if I would use it in my classroom, because it is very long and a bit difficult to understand in today's world.
The memes of Florence Pugh in Venice are all top-tier, but this one takes the cake, no doubt. 😭 #JusticeForAmyMarch
I hope it is fav book of many of you🥰💐
My next choice is Little fires everywhere. #alphabetgame #LetterL
A personal takeaway from this book was how interesting it was how the author was able to take all of the different girls and make them all very different from each other but also show how important they were for each other and how all of the different characters types complemented each other. I think that the way that this author wrote the book in a way that is very similar to how it would happen in real life is interesting.
I just discovered this adorable Little Women fabric last night and I think I have to make a quilt now.
This book has been on my TBR for ages, and I‘m glad that I had the chance to read this book! This was an outstanding book about the story of some sisters which has amazed me! I have to say, it took me longer than expected to finish this book, but I thank you @Reyzl for inviting me on this journey!
I never wanted to go away, and the hard part is leaving you all. I'm not afraid, but it seems as if I should be homesick for you even in heaven.
I am not afraid of storms, for I am learning how to sail my ship.
Watch and pray, dear, never get tired of trying, and never think it is impossible to conquer your fault.
My next read is an amazing book, gifted from my wonderful and extremely kindhearted teacher, @Reyzl . All I have to say is, you are an amazing person, and I thank you immensely for inviting us to this journey! 😊
Really lovely book, the March sister's bond was so great to see, it was so heartwarming that it felt like you belonged to that family too.
They were so nice to everyone around them and it was so cute to see them treat Laurie like family after finding out he felt lonely because his only company was his “uptight” grandpa.
The sister's character development was great but I‘m very biased towards Amy because she had the best one and she is a cutie.
