The Hobbit | J.R.R. Tolkien
Pickpick

I really enjoyed it, more than I was expecting to.
I loved how descriptive everything is, it really helps you imagine such a beautiful world more accurately.
What I about the book was how Tolkien left his own little opinions and remarks throughout the story, it felt as if he was telling Bilbo‘s story in a this is a story I‘ve heard a long time ago type of way and not in an I‘m a writer making up a story type of way, loved it.

I enjoyed it more than I thought I would, really loved Wren and her story, can‘t wait to see more of her especially now that she has so much power.
I wonder why Jude and the other sisters were so against her and Oak being promised to each other years ago, I guess because of her family, hopefully, they‘ll see how worthy she is now, although I don‘t want her to go too easy on Oak that would be too boring.
There‘s barely any JudeCardan content tho

Having a little bit of Cardan‘s side of the story was amazing, I wish it had more chapters, I think I could totally reread the whole trilogy in his pov.
Not him and Jude having bubble tea in the last chapter, that was quite something

The Lost Sisters | Holly Black

“You‘re awful.” He said it as though he was delighted. “And the worst part is that you believe otherwise.”
Cardan pretty much described my opinion on Taryn.

The Testament of Loki | Joanne M. Harris

First book was way better, this one was too modernized for my taste.

The Gospel of Loki | Joanne M. Harris

I liked to see things from Lokis perspective, that was fun, but overall it didn't captivate me as much as I thought it would since I like Loki so much.
I recommend reading Norse myths before reading this book because it has a lot of references but it doesn't tell them fully so it's way better if you understand the full picture the book is trying to paint.
My Norse Myths recommendation would be "Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman, it's an amazing book.

I really loved this book, the criticism to the mainstream views on feminism were a eye opening type of moment to me.
Equality between the sexes can never be achieved unless men are equal themselves, which means we can't be feminists and ignore the other problems our society has.
The only "flaw" for me was how North American centered this felt. Still made a great job to help us see from many povs.

It was alright.
I was really looking forward to read the tales of an author who inspired so many of my favorite directors and writers, but it was a bit of a let down.

Bram Stoker's Dracula | Bram Stoker
Mehso-so

I‘ll be honest, I expected more of this book.
Everything is told in a diary pov and there‘s barely any count Dracula in the whole book, it‘s mostly about catching Dracula.

quote

When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“Thank you, Michael, for letting my son love her first.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“This was heaven.
This was bliss.
This was something he‘d never dared hope to feel, something he never could have dreamed existed.
This was love.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“It was because she loved him.
This thing between them, this bond—it wasn‘t just passion, and it wasn‘t wicked.
It was love, and it was divine.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“She didn‘t have to love him. But she did have to feel free. Free to be happy.
Because if she wasn‘t happy…
Well, that would kill him. He could live without her love, but not without her happiness.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“Francesca,” he said, and he had no idea why he was saying it, just that her name was the most important thing in the world right then. Her name, and her body, and the beauty of her soul.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“He gave his head a little shake. He was turning into a sentimental fool. His heart had always skipped a beat when he saw her across a crowded room. Anything more, and he didn‘t think the organ could take the strain.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“She felt cherished.
Worshipped.
Loved.
It was humbling.
It was exquisite.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“He was her husband.
It was so hard to believe, and yet it felt so perfect and right.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“Why? It‘s because I love you, damn me to hell. Because I‘ve always loved you. Because I loved you when you were with John, and I loved you when I was in India, and God only knows I don‘t deserve you, but I love you, anyway.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“Michael wanted her—badly, she could see quite visibly. But he would stop if she just said the word.”

I swear nothing is hotter than a respectful man.

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“And he needed the yes. He had loved her for years, dreamed about touching her for so damned long. And now that the moment was finally here, he just didn‘t know if he could bear it if she didn‘t really want it. There were only so many ways a man‘s heart could break, and he had a feeling his couldn‘t survive another puncture.”

We love a respectful man.

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“Now that it had finally happened, now that he had tasted perfection, he was in more agony than ever before. Now he knew exactly what he was missing; he understood with painful clarity just what it was that would never be his.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“She stared at him, licked her lips, and waited…
Waited for the moment, the first touch, because as terrifying and wrong as it was, she knew it would feel like perfection.
And it did.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“Were you watching me?” she asked.
His lips curved, not quite into a smile, not even into the beginnings of a smile. “I‘m always watching you,” he said grimly.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“Marriage to Francesca. Good God. Everything about it was wrong.
Except he wanted it so badly.
It was hell watching her, hell speaking to her, hell living in the same house. He‘d thought it was difficult before—loving someone who could never be his—but this…
This was a thousand times worse.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“He would never escape her, this woman. He would never escape her, and he could never have her.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“Tell me something wicked,” he said again, more slowly this time. “That was it. You rather liked me when I was wicked.”

quote
roronoazoro
When He Was Wicked | Julia Quinn

“It was something in the way she moved.
Something in the way she breathed.
Something in the way she merely was.
And he didn‘t think he was ever going to get over it.”

I enjoyed it but I expected a bit more, I feel like I would like it more if I didn‘t watch the show first.

I loved this book a lot, but Benedict‘s book is my favorite (for now), so since I loved Benedict‘s so much Colin‘s book felt a little bit underwhelming.
Only because in my head I keep comparing the books, if that wasn‘t the case then I would be completely OBSESSED with this book.

quote
roronoazoro

“I love you. I adore you. I worship the ground you walk upon.”

quote
roronoazoro

"I love you," he said, his voice low and fervent. "I love you with everything I am, everything I've been, and everything I hope to be”
"I love you with my past, and I love you for my future." He bent forward and kissed her, once, softly, on the lips. "I love you for the children we'll have and for the years we'll have together. I love you for every one of my smiles, and even more, for every one of your smiles.”

quote
roronoazoro

“Home was in Bloomsbury. Home was with Penelope. Home was anywhere with Penelope.”

quote
roronoazoro

“She was beautiful. Utterly, completely, soul-stirringly beautiful. He didn‘t know how he hadn‘t noticed it all these years.”

quote
roronoazoro

“Unrequited love was never easy, but at least Penelope Featherington was used to it.”

quote
roronoazoro

“Always,” he interrupted, raising her hand to his lips and kissing her palm with a fervency that sucked her breath away. “Always.”

quote
roronoazoro

"Excellent," he murmured. "Now then, I'm going to leave. And you have only one task while I go. You will stay right here, and you will keep smiling. Because it breaks my heart to see any other expression on your face.”

quote
roronoazoro

It was odd, and he was almost afraid to analyze
what it meant, but he needed to know that she was safe and protected more than he needed her for himself.
.
.
He captured her mouth with his, swearing to himself as he did so that if she said no, if she made any sort of indication that she didn't want this, he'd stop. It'd be the hardest thing he'd ever done, but he would do it.

quote
roronoazoro

Until Sophie
Unlike the lady in silver, she wasn't someone he could hope to marry, but also unlike the lady in silver, she was here.
And he wasn't going to let her get away.
She was here, with him, and she felt like heaven. The soft scent of her hair, the slight taste of salt on her skin- she was, he thought, born to rest in the shelter of his arms. And he was born to hold her.

quote
roronoazoro

"I can live with you hating me," he said to the closed door. "I just can't live without you.”

quote
roronoazoro

"I think I have to kiss you," he said, looking as if he couldn't quite believe his own words.
"It's rather like breathing. One doesn't have much choice in the matter.”

quote
roronoazoro

“But mostly he just enjoyed being in the same room with her. It didn't seem to matter if they were talking or if she was just sitting in a chair, leafing through a book while he stared out the window. Something about her presence brought him peace.”

quote
roronoazoro

Sophie turned around slowly. "Are you this charming with everyone or only me?
"Oh, only you." He grinned. "You do bring out the best in me, Miss Sophie Beckett.”

quote
roronoazoro

“She cried for the memory of when he'd held her in his arms at the masquerade, and she cried because she was in his arms right now.
She cried because he was so damned nice, and even though he was clearly ill, even though she was, in his eyes, nothing but a housemaid, he still wanted to care for her and protect her.”

quote
roronoazoro

"I want-" His voice dropped to a whisper, and his eyes looked vaguely surprised, as if he couldn't quite believe the truth of his own words. "I want your future. I want every little piece of you.”
