I'm just going to have to vent here: I miss the heck out of my best friend. I ended my 5 years relationship in October and my best friend died in December. Now I have been looking for a place and no one seems to have anything. I'm trying my best to keep a level head. But literally all my best friends are dead, I'm single, and I refuse to vent to my children. I'm tired of crying everyday
i have had the best time with this group!
Meh. Protagonist is a hired killer who stalks his victim on a luxury expedition cruise to Antarctica. The pacing is steady but sluggish in places. Characterization is good for the protagonist and some of the secondary characters. But the climax happens off-camera and is told in an abbreviated flashback - oh yeah, by the way, I killed him by throwing him overboard when he was drunk and buzzed on marijuana. Not one of my best reads this year.

I will be stepping away for a while. My last living best friend has died. I just need to process this. It was just her and I left. The craziest part. I had to find our on my own. Through looking in the paper. She passed away the 18th. She was my rock, like my little sister. Now it's just me left on this 🌎. I had three best friends. Two killed to domestic violence and. Idk how shemika even died. I understand I had covid at. The time but. Smh
We got an amazing surprise in the mail. We can‘t wait for Christmas. This is half the crew. I‘ll update for the whole clan when I get them all home together. Thank you so much @UwannaPublishme
Book two in the Lancashire Cotton Saga. A great addition to the series. It was lovely meeting up with some of the characters from the first book, Song of the Shuttle, to find out how they‘re getting on. It‘s an interesting and enjoyable tale containing a bit of all sorts, from family drama, to adventure, to murder with a sprinkling of romance. It‘s written in an easy to read and engaging style. Highly recommended for historical fiction saga fans.
Renna's Crossing by Geordie Morse
A very strong beginning, but slowly began having pacing issues as in two steps forward one step back. The chapter transitions were a bit clunky. The writing, world building and character development were great. There was a satisfying twist that I did not see coming but the end left me with unanswered questions. A unique story and a promising author!

I wonder why the grass is green,
And why the wind is never seen?
Who taught the birds to build a nest,
And told the trees to take a rest?
O, when the moon is not quite round,
Where can the missing bit be found?
Who lights the stars, when they blow out,
And makes the lightning flash about?
Who paints the rainbow in the sky,
And hangs the fluffy clouds so high?
Why is it now, do you suppose,
That Dad won't tell me, if he knows?
