Ancco made a name for herself in Korea when she started publishing diary comics in the early 2000s. The comics in this book, a collection of vignettes from/inspired by her life, meander through the highs and lows of adolescence, family, friendship, love, and the process of growing up. Render in start black and white art, the book offers a fascinating & intriguing look at contemporary life in Korea. An entertaining read.

A very fun read about a girl who just starts her freedom in college from a bad family situation only to seemingly fall into a video game with frequent possibilities of death. Beautiful art in this manhwa along with a fun story. 4.5⭐️

Book 3 of #12booksof2023 was the 2 volumes that comprise Yeon Sang-Ho's Hellbound, read back-to-back the middle of February. Hellbound (now a Netflix series) has a life prior to being published in book format as an animated series. The animated series appears to have diverged quite a bit from later versions. The 2 volumes are a translation of the innovative webtoon about a world where people are dismembered in (cont.)

My dogs expression is mine too. This is a very very dark horror manga about a man who stalks the cool guy he has a crush on and falls into a much much worse situation. It does do a job of giving you extreme dread throughout, but I can‘t say I liked it. 3.25⭐️

I fins I'm somewhat partial to Korean manga only because their manga are in full color which does honestly add to the reading experience. This was a cute story and I will definitely being looking for the next volume to see how this plays out. Very easy read and I can say I'm officially a fan of Japanese and Korean manga and this form of storytelling. #bookspin @thearomaofbooks

This is the series the popular Netflix show is based on. It's a lot of fun...a whole lot of ridiculous...but entertaining in the end. This is volume 1 in a series.

I adored this light novel series so I'm excited to now read the manga version. Full color graphic novel and the artwork is so pretty. Fast and easy read.
