September: Calendar Girl Book 9 | Audrey Carlan
58 posts | 7 read | 1 to read
"Be prepared for a serious book hangover as you embark on a year's worth of sexy heroes and wild rides!" Meredith Wild, #1 NYT Bestselling Author of the Hacker Series Synopsis Vegas, Viscous Exes, and Ventilators. My life felt like a fast ride on a too short highway. Coming home should be roses and rainbows, but nothing that comes out of the desert blooms free. I was most certainly not free. Id missed my payment to Blaine, owed the last client a hundred grand I didnt have, and my father was on his deathbed. To make matters worse, Wes was missing in action. As in, no one had seen or heard from him in three weeks. Devastation didnt begin to explain where my mental state was at. Like anything life had thrown my way, I pulled on my big girl panties, not the sexy lacy ones I enjoyed teasing my guy with, but the kind that said, This ass means business. I had no choice but to make the decision I made. My ex, the man that ruined the concept of love for me, put my father in the hospital, was about to get everything he ever wantedat least thats what I led him to believe. *** In the ninth book of the Calendar Girl serial, Mia rushes back home to Las Vegas, Nevada. Things have taken a turn for her father, putting her into debt up to her eyeballs. Each installment in the Calendar Girl Serial will release every month throughout 2015. The stories will feature Mias journey as an escort to twelve clients in twelve different locations.

I won‘t finish Horseman tonight, so my September reading ends here, with 11 completed works and one of the worst monthly stats I‘ve had in several years - tons of bails and many days where I didn‘t even want to open a book. 😭 The highlights, though, were Small Angels, Black Water Lilies, Thirteen Reasons Why, Twig, and an early start on my October TBR with multiple versions of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. 🖤 #septemberstats

I always try to read until the last moment but I really don‘t think I‘ll finish a new book by tomorrow so here is my September #BookspinBingo results. Still feeling kinda slumpish so finishing 7 books is not too shabby.

#SuperSeptember Wrapup

450 of 500 page goal read. (So close)
1 book finished (A Hard Day for a Hangover)
Made progress on two other books.
Overall not my most active readathon but not too bad for a slump.

Andrew65 Great, thanks for playing along 👏👏👏🙌🥳🍾🥂 2y

Tentative plans for September (from left to right) are to finish my carry over book from August, the Litsy chapter-a-day reread of Jane Eyre, a NetGalley September release, my next work book club selection, 4 library books, the last 3 McIlvanney long list titles, and an audiobook for #readingafrica2022. I will probably throw a few more audiobooks in there, but I don‘t know what, yet. #septembertbr

3✨Not a favorite in the series, but so happy she found more family and they built on that relationship in this month. Also glad that a few things were able to be resolved so other things can be explored. This one did do some repeating and typos were in this as well. I have 3 more months to go! 😍😭 I don‘t really want it to end. I really like these characters.

These are my #ReadingGoals for September. I didn‘t read much nonfiction in August, so that‘s a main priority. I also have several books from the #MMD summer reading list that I‘d still like to read, and, I‘m just ready to mark off some more of my challenges before the end of the year gets too busy! #SelfImprovementSept

OriginalCyn620 Great goals! 😊 5y

Reposting for @arlenefinnigan and @Cinfhen - this month‘s music challenge is all about the county of Lancashire....

If you‘ve enjoyed exploring Yorkshire in the #ayupaugust challenge then why not broaden your horizons to Lancashire too?! (Psst - Yorkshire is better though! 🤣)

Post a picture of a book that fits with the daily prompt above, use #redroseseptember and tag your hosts @arlenefinnigan and @Cinfhen - have fun!

MallenNC @britt_brooke I have started doing that with the giant sized classics. The audio format really helps me connect with the story. 6y
britt_brooke @MallenNC This is the first massive classic I‘ve listened, too, and I agree. I‘ll definitely be tackling some others this way. 6y

This wasn't that good of a reading month for me. I'm not sure why, but I got into a big reading slump all throughout September.

I only read 5.
The Hazel Wood, Grace & Fury, The Knife of Never Letting Go, The Selection, and Royal Bastards.
4 print books and 1 ebook.
Grace & Fury, Knife of Never, and Royal Bastards were 5🌟, The Selection was 4🌟, The Hazel Wood was 3🌟.
Longest was Knife of Never, shortest was Grace & Fury.
Total pages: 1879

Bookaholicforlife I gave the hazel wood about the same rating 6y

InBooksILive @Bookaholicforlife those are the parts I liked too, beginning and ending but like you said the middle was just ughh! So disappointed about it 6y

I won‘t finish another book this month so here‘s my reads for the month. It was great. I also bailed on like 4-5 books. None of these were amazing. Killing Floor was probably the best and the rest were okay to good.

I need 23 more reads to hit my goal of 100 this year. 3 months. I thinks it‘s doable!

Repost for @CaliforniaCay :
I'm horrible at keeping up with prompts, but since September is my favorite month, I decided to shake things up a bit and make my own prompt! I'm not sure how consistent I'll be with posting myself, but I would love to see how you other littens (if anyone else participates) interpret these different daily challenges. So feel free to repost share and tag me all month long! 🤗 #SisforSeptember

TK-421 I think there's been some confusion here... I tagged @LitsyHappenings to repost @CaliforniaCay's photo challenge, but this text is about a buddy read ? Original post re: #SisforSeptember here: http://litsy.com/p/N2J1ZXBEVlRC 6y

Andrew65 @EadieB Very busy working with staff analysing results and identifying priorities we need to move forward on . No children but still did 7.30 am to 6 pm! More training tomorrow (maths) then children back in Wednesday. Like I‘ve never been away but so missed my reading and the sea! 6y

Andrew65 @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks Last September I managed 13, so unlikely to get to them all with work. 6y

Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Aiming to do it next week (w/c 10th September) just need to look at other commitments and decide what day I will start it in. 😊 (edited) 6y
Tove_Reads I‘ll be in London this coming week, so 10th onwards would work for me! Reading The Chalk Pit now! 6y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads Enjoy London and The Chalk Pit. I am back to work tomorrow. What about either starting Tuesday 11th or Wednesday 12th. Looking at the length I would suggest reading it over 5 or 6 days with work commitments. 6y
Tove_Reads Sounds good to me. I have it as an ebook, so haven‘t even looked at it. 6y
Andrew65 @Tove_Reads I‘ve got it as an ebook too, but amazon has it down as 576 pages (paperback). 6y
