Next book goal-marked and ready to start!! #ReadingGoals

Day One: #ReadingGoals
My reading goals this month are mainly to focus on and finish my in real life book club book before the next meeting! Tomorrow is our meeting for the tagged book and I‘m only 23% of the way through— not because it‘s not good (I find it quite interesting), but because I‘ve been devoting all my spare reading time to Priory of the Orange Tree 🧡 (it‘s a tome, so I‘m only about 30% through that one!)

MollyJCover2CoverCafe What version Kindle is that? Regular or Paperwhite....??? 1mo
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks 🙌🏻📚🧡🖤 1mo
Chrissyreadit I hope you‘ll share what you think of this book. I‘m very curious about it. 1mo

hermyknee @MollyJCover2CoverCafe it‘s the newest kindle paperwhite! @Chrissyreadit I will! 1mo
staci.reads I love Falling Leaves, but it made me want to punch someone through the pages at times 😡 It used to be one of the selections for our autobiography unit book clubs. 1mo

#ReadingGoals for September: read 6-7 books (pref. ones I can count towards #LitsyAtoZ2019) so I have a shot at completing that, along with my #GoodreadsChallenge. It‘s been a stressful year & I haven‘t been reading as much as I usually do. Even after knocking 20 books off my original goal I‘m still behind! Here‘s a few I might read this month. It‘s hard to plan ahead when you‘re a mood reader! #SelfImprovementSept

Nebklvr A Darker Shade of Magic! 1mo
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks I hope 2020 is better for both of us 😘❤️ 1mo

#SelfImprovementSept | Day 1: #ReadingGoals

I'm not good at planning a reading list more than a book ahead at a time (sometimes not even that much) but I definitely want to read this one this month. Sometimes I have to push myself to set aside the dragons and spaceships for something literary, but I'm always very glad when I do!

Suelizbeth I am not enjoying this book as much as The Secret History, so I've set it aside, for now. I will get back to it eventually, but there are other books that I really want to read, and this is not one of them, at present. 1mo
j9brown @Suelizbeth We're all too short on free time to stick with a book we're not enjoying! I haven't read the Secret History so I'm not sure what to expect. Maybe I'm just getting sucked into the hype around the movie 🤷‍♀️😁 1mo
Mindyrecycles I loved Secret History and only liked Goldfinch. 1mo
cathipink Can't wait to hear what you think 🙂 I'm so excited/nervous for the movie. 1mo
j9brown @cathipink The book is almost always better! The trailer does look really good, though. 1mo

My #ReadingGoals for September. These are the eighteen books I hope to get to this month. No doubt one or two I won‘t get to and others I will get to which aren‘t on this post. #SelfImprovementSeptember

OriginalCyn620 Awesome! I loved Evelyn Hugo too! 1mo
Crazeedi Is the next "sister" out Andrew?? And Evelyn is good! 1mo

Crazeedi Ahhhhhh! You're going to enter the world of Venice too!! Yes!! 1mo
Moony Wow! But I know you can get it! Can I ask you something? How many hours do you read a day? I only read 18 books a year. 😂 1mo
jillrhudy I am listening to Evelyn Hugo right now; having trouble tearing myself away to sleep, work, etc 1mo
Andrew65 @jillrhudy That sounds very promising! 😁 1mo
Andrew65 @Crazeedi Yes picked up the book from the library last night. 1mo
Andrew65 @Moony During work days I listen to an audiobook on the commute, usually totally 1 hr 20 minutes. Then will attempt to get up to 2 hrs in at night, don‘t always manage it but sometimes get more done. On Saturdays, Sundays and during weekends aim to read at least 7 hrs a day. Sometimes manage 8 on Sundays. During school holidays try to do 8 hrs but can range generally from 7 - 9 hrs. We no longer tend to watch any tv, but will sometimes 👇 (edited) 1mo
Andrew65 @Moony 👆listen to cricket commentary on the radio or watch highlights on YouTube (this somedays can eat into reading time). Keep up to date with news and videos on iPad from BBC website. Helps that children flown the next and my wife loves to read as well. (edited) 1mo
Andrew65 @moony I used to read that amount of books (18) and kept challenging myself to read more. Still remember the joy when I got to 75 a year then a hundred. These days I read over 200. It‘s about targeting and ring fencing that reading time. If too tired to physically read I will turn to audiobooks. 1mo
Andrew65 @MicrobeMom Great news 😊 1mo
Moony @Andrew65 oh thanks this great answer! 😊 I wish you fun and a good reading time with your family. I'll try to hear more audiobooks. 🤣 1mo
Andrew65 @Moony It is audiobooks that has really help me take reading to those higher levels. Some audiobooks work for me others don‘t, so you need to work out what type of audiobooks (and narrators) work best for you. I do a lot of driving so they really help. (edited) 1mo
Moony @Andrew65 great tip! 😎 1mo

#readinggoals I have 3 of these on the go and for book club, my friend picked the two plays. Virginia Woolf will be a reread which is fine because it‘s great. I don‘t know anything about God of Carnage. These will probably be it for September. Some count for my ongoing #gilmoregirlsreadingchallenge and #aty2019 #selfimprovementsept

For a #BookAWeek I want to:

I‘ve bought 5 books from the Booker Longlist and I hope to read 4.

There‘re several buddy reads this month and I want to participate in the following 4:
“Pachinko” #WomenReadWomen2019 hosted by @GatheringBooks
“Sleepless Nights” #NYRBBookClub hosted by @vivastory and @youneverarrived
“Overstory” hosted by @litsybookclub
“The Mysterious Affair at Styles” #AgathaChristieClubR2

TheReadingMermaid Those are all fantastic goals. I hope you get to meet them sweetheart. I'm rooting for you! 🎉🎉 1mo
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks You can do it!!! 🙌🏻🎊🎉 1mo
JamieArc I‘m trying to read a book a week for the Booker prize too. Luckily, a few of them are shorter and make for fast reading. 1mo

AnneCecilie @JamieArc Of the 5 that I own, 3 is short, 1 is in the middle and I have the longest of them. After hearing all the good things about “Ducks, Davenport” I really want to read that. 1mo
OriginalCyn620 👍🏻📚😊 1mo
vivastory Glad you're joining us for the September #NYRBBookClub 👍 I am really looking forward to it! 1mo
Mindyrecycles Oh thanks! I‘m reading Pachinko now so will join in. Will look in on Overstory as well...loved it. 1mo
AnneCecilie @vivastory I‘m on the waiting list at the library and just hope I get it on time. I‘ve been no 1 on the hold list since early/ middle August and the person loaning the book has been allowed to extend the loan twice. It now says it will get to me in the next 4-6 weeks. 1mo

Here are the two books I‘m reading for the month. Brave is an audiobook while the other is a hardback (currently halfway through). Besides these, I‘m hoping to read more but trying to let the mood strike me (and who knows if my other audiobook holds will come available this month 😂)

#readinggoals #selfimprovementseptember

Chrissyreadit What do you think of Brave? 1mo
Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks 🙌🏻📚 1mo
TheDaysGoBy @Chrissyreadit I haven‘t actually started it yet. I‘m looking forward to it though. I‘ve heard pieces about how crazy her life was 1mo
