I know I'm probably on the older side to be reading this amazing YA book, but I loved it. I saw the movie on Netflix and I swear Lana Condor and Noah Centineo are the perfect casting for Lara Jean and Peter K.
This book made me laugh and cry. I see myself so much in Lara Jean. She's innocent, quirky and in love with love. The writing is so well done, you genuinely feel what she is feeling.

Fun to read. Would recommend for those who like young adult romantic comedies. The movie is also great if you want to check that out.

Why? Since I saw the movie I thought why not read the book and compare it.
Brief summary: This story is about Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, so instead she wrote each boy a letter about how she felt towards them. One day the five letters were mailed to each guy, however, she learns how to deal with her past face to face.

I found this series fun and lighthearted in an enjoyable way. It can be hard to read about teenagers and their matter of fact “well of course they drink, have sex, and spend too much time on the internet saying and viewing appalling things” when I really want to believe it doesn‘t have to be that way. At least Lara Jean bakes. Engaging enough for a YA indulgence. And the book is FAR better than the movie.

I chose this book because I've watched the netflix film on it, and decided to read the series to see which I liked better, novel or film.
Every crush Lara Jean has, she writes a letter to. One day, all her letters are sent out to the boys. They find out, and majority of them confront her about it. Peter gets caught up by making his ex jealous with Lara, her ex best friend. Will they fall in love?

Ridiculously, I've had an advance copy of this since 2014 and am only now jumping on the bandwagon. It is sooooooo adorable! I loved the tone and that Lara Jean felt like a real teenager (I find most YA to have overly mature characters). I can't wait to get to the next one!

This book is great if you are looking for a fun read. It perfectly captures the drama and mindset of the stereotypical teenage girl. However, at certain points this book was more than just a romance. It dealt with loss and growing up before you should have. Overall, a fun read with a few deep messages that cause you to look within yourself and relflect.

ElizaMarie I really liked it too. The Netflix movie is pretty cute (if you haven‘t seen it... check it out) 4mo

This was really cute! Lara Jean was relatable, if a bit naive, but still the kind of character you root for.

I really like the sister/family relationships. I‘m looking forward to seeing how the characters evolve and grow (I‘m looking at you, Peter)  And of course, watching the movie version.

At first, Lara Jean seems so young & naive & dreamy &- okay, I was prob. just like her at 16. Still, it was easy to get impatient w/her & want to say grow up already! As she challenges herself more, she becomes more of a sweet character. I also liked that along w/the romance, Han subtly touches on issues of being biracial, growing up w/a single-parent household, & teen social pressures. In fact, the more I think about the book, the more I like it.

Ok, so our spare room isn't exactly prime material for a romance novel, but this is definitely the bed size where someone would stoically volunteer to take the floor, but we all know how that ends.
