So funny and easy to read. I‘m not normally one for autobiographies but this was worth a punt!

#24in48 Hour 18 Challenge: What‘s on Your Nightstand?
I like a light & funny book before bed. These days, Sue has been reading me to sleep. 🤓 The rest of the nightstand is just TBR spillover.
Requested this as an interlibrary loan months ago! Came home from my last day at my bad job yesterday with a migraine and very sleepy from meds. Was planning on resting but then got the call that this came in and IMMEDIATELY jettisoned plans to go get it (don‘t worry, I had someone to drive me ;) ). I got a little bit in last night and am hoping for some book/bath time today. Hoping for more childhood poems XD
Who doesn‘t love Sue Perkins? Reading this, it‘s so easy to hear her voice in your head, and she‘s just as hilarious as she is on radio or television. There are really moving parts, too, and I nearly cried when she talks about her beagle. This is very funny and sweet, and I wish she‘d write more.
Coconut Mocha Frappuccino and Sue. It‘s gonna be a nice afternoon. 😎
Laughing through this book and then Perkins throws this at me:
And my feet marching this ground, day after day, tell the tale of
You and I, you and I, you and I, and trees and sky and always and for ever but
Gone.
By the sea with Sue Perkins. 🇵🇷
As one who is blind as a bat without her spectacles, I most heartily agree with Miss Bates. I enjoy #🛒 for new frames, I #feellost without my glasses, need them to see #everything, and enjoy wearing a different #style. #eyes #150PnPCoverParty #thisremindsmeof #heartsandhardcovers #happinessisresistance #quotsyfeb18 #multitasking
I got new glasses y'all! I can see all the things. 😄🤓
This was just a delight. Sue Perkins is not only funny but she can write well. There were some definite LOL moments but she's quite honest about her life. I wish there was more about the Bake Off and wish that this was more recent to get her thoughts about leaving the show. I also love how she and Mel go so far back. Now, I just have to BAAAAKE!
BAAAAAAKE! You may know Sue Perkins as one half of the dynamic duo who presented the Bake Off. You may know her from her historical eating show with Giles Coren. You may know her from driving the Ho Chi Minh trail with Liza Tarbuck. But she is so much more than a nattily dressed, wise cracking, funny lady. The book is littered with deep emotion and sweeping humour. I loved her before. I love her even more now. Nice one, Ms Perkins!
You can have cake for breakfast, right?
It's the last day of Treat Week for a bookstagram challenge and this hilarious and real book from Sue Perkins felt like the perfect book to pair with some bakes!
It's like the British version of "Yes Please"
There are a bunch of secondhand copies available from Amazon sellers and I highly recommend this lovely and comedic read. Ready, set, baaake! #booksandcake
I can't remember laughing out loud at a book as much as I did while listening to this one.even if you have no idea who Sue Perkins is, you will enjoy this book.
Fun fact (if you didn't know): When Sue Perkins won BBC Maestro, she had to conduct the entire first movement of Beethoven's Symphony no. 5.
I always think of her when #hummingbirdheartbeat plays on my iTunes. #melodicmay #day14
Like an episode of Bake Off. You have laughter, tears, moments when u groan, moments when u are mortified. A charming book 😀
My second #spinepoetry is about the large names.

Scandalous Women
Legitimately laugh out loud funny--my boyfriend kept asking from the other room what I was laughing so hard about. I didn't know much about Sue aside from her role as judge on the Great British Bake Off, but this memoir was lovely, hilarious, and heartfelt. Totally wonderful!
Enjoying this one, but I've been running out of time to read it, and it's due back at the library tomorrow. Ack!
Again, after much deliberation I've decided that Spectacles was my favourite non fiction book that I read in 2016. It's funny, warm and completely charming - just like its lovely author Sue Perkins. Full review on my blog lucindaisreading.wordpress.com
When Amazon tells you there is a Kindle sale on so you just can't help yourself, even though you have enough downloads to last you 10 years.
Was a fun read. Was interesting learning about one of the stars of the GBBO but I think the true stars of this book was Sue's parents. It's no wonder she became such a wonderful personality.
This is a book that kind of left me feeling like so much was left out. I'm not sure I needed a whole book of a stand-up comedy act.
The Sunday Special
Just finished this. Predictably, I loved it. Absolutely spectacular. Brilliant. Top notch. Thoroughly lovely (and lashing of other British compliments).
Seriously though, Spectacles is also deeply moving as well as very, very funny.
I must have read about half of this aloud to @Kitta so pre-warn your reading buddies!
Groundhog gay!!!
Thank goodness my grandpa likes @Kitta (perhaps too much):
"You should keep her around, she's very pretty"
"Why haven't you married her yet? I like her, what more do you want?" ???
I am in love! What a delightful, kind and clever woman!! Can't wait to finish her bio. 😍 #edbookfest #greatbritishfangirl
This came in the mail today and I had forgotten I'd ordered it. I also didn't know it was signed. I love Sue and Mel on the Great British Bake-Off! Can't wait to start.
This gem just arrived from Great Britain this morning! Can't wait to start it!
A unique fact about me for #day14 of the #augustbookchallenge I am a grown ass lady who in her spare time builds thrones of books 😊😊 I call it The Word Throne..... @TheSpinecrackersBookClub
Love today's challenge! Here are a couple of my stacks, accompanied by my happy chicken jug friends...
Obviously I had to choose Spectacles as the book tag for this as I met Sue when buying this book! #lifehighlight #bestillmybeatingheart #didimentionilovesueperkins

Only a few pages in and already I'm cackling like a fool. I love Sue Perkins.

This book is laugh out loud funny. Up there with Bossypants and Yes, Please.
In honor of British baking show starting a new season in the US, I decided to pull this from my TBR. Absolutely hilarious! I mean I actually lol'd at certain points.
