#ChillingPhotoChallenge #day14 #Poison Poison is used quite a lot in Dame Agathas work. The first book of hers I ever read when I was 11yrs old was Sparkling Cyanide in which a young wife is poisoned in her champagne at a dinner. There was also poison used in Five Little Pigs, Three Act Tragedy & Hickory Dickory Dock, just to name a few. This book is all about those poisons used. #Scareathlon #TeamSlaughter 1point #PointsTotal-462

Space Unicorn Blues | T. J. Berry

#AyUpAugust #Day14 #Animal This one is right up there with “Most unique SciFi ever written” Gary is a half unicorn space pilot who has his ancestral stone ship stolen & is put in chains so Captain Jenny can use his ground down horn to power the faster-than-light drive. Years later, when he‘s finally free,he gets involved in a doublecross & is rescued by the very person who held him captive and has to make a deal with the devil to get his ship back.

Cinfhen Like I said before you post the most unique books 😜 2mo

Lizpixie @Cinfhen why thank you Cindy! @mcipher they certainly are @squirrelbrain it is but it‘s also very good. The sequel, Five Unicorn Flush, came out recently. There goes my #bookbuyban💸 2mo
Katerina I started this book, when the hype was still going strong, but couldn't get into it. I'll give it a second chance soon. 2mo
Squidapus Squidapus loved this book. You think it'll be a silly adventure but holy crap does it get dark and emotionally heavy. 2mo

This will be my last one for the night in my attempt to catch up. I‘ll hopefully be officially caught up tomorrow. I read this book my first semester in college for my honors English class, about 13 years ago. I kind of want to reread it.

annahenke I liked the movie! 4mo
LiterarySloth @annahenke me too! It‘s been so long that I couldn‘t say how similar they are, but I definitely enjoyed both! 4mo

#Riotgrams #Day14 #FavoriteBookoftheYear

So far this has been my favorite read of 2019 (which was also published this year). I also read and really enjoyed The Passage series by Justin Cronin.

#Conspiracy TNG 1.20, a fine mystery, tightly woven, riveting even, that suddenly turns left into body horror in the 3rd act, giving us the goriest Star Trek episode ever. I remember being shocked back in 1988, which is why I used only concept drawings in the image above.

One of Jean Baudrillard‘s last books The Conspiracy of Art explores how artists use the rhetoric war and fear to denounce them. I approve.

I'm with the Band: Confessions of a Groupie | Pamela Des Barres, Dave Navarro

#MarchIntoThe70s #Day14 #HeartOfGold Almost at the halfway point already! Time flies when you listen to great music This is the memoir of the original “bandaid”,that Kate Hudson‘s character in Almost Famous was based on. Pamela started as a Beatles tragic then a school friend introduced her to Captain Beefheart. She was Frank Zappa‘s nanny, close to The Byrd‘s & spent time with Gram Parsons, Keith Moon, Jim Morrison & Jimmy Page just to name a few.

gradcat I read this a long, long time ago...but I remember it quite well. Are you enjoying it? 7mo
Lizpixie @gradcat I‘ve read it twice in the last five years. It‘s still my favourite memoir, she just has this sort of innocent joy which was lovely to read.☮️ 7mo
gradcat Good! It seems like I read it in the 80s...can‘t really remember. But I know I liked it. 7mo
