I read Tower of Dawn and Empire of Storms at the same time and while it felt a bit tedious, I‘m glad I did it this way. It helped me have a better understanding when events that happen in TOD were going on during the events that happen in EOS. Overall I thought this was a solid installment in the TOG series.
Has anyone read Empire of Shadows and Tower of Dawn at the same time? Going to follow this guide and give it a go!
The Beach 🏖
In the summer I like snacks that are light and refreshing. I love fruits and sugar free popsicles 🍉 🍦
Water, but I also like to make a gallon of caffeine free iced tea! Lipton has some nice summery flavors (watermelon, mango) ☕️ 💧
Sunscreen haha I‘m a redhead so I‘m not leaving the house without it 🧴
The pool! I‘ll spend a whole day swimming, lounging and reading. 🏊♀️ 📖 ☀️
1. Honestly, I can‘t remember. I know my favorite movie was Robin Hood (the Disney version). I watched it on repeat. 🦊
2. South Africa 🇿🇦
3. It‘s mostly mood driven. I‘ll have a #TBR all picked out and then not feel it at all. Lately I‘ve been in a ‘Fantasy mood‘ 🐉
4. Sarah J Maas. I didn‘t love ACOTAR, but I love her Throne of Glass series ⚔️
5. I can‘t think of one. Have a Happy Friday!! 😎
Today is the day!! While I‘ve read the books, in this case I much prefer the tv series. I‘ve put my reading aside this weekend to binge watch seasons 6 and 7. Anxiously awaiting the premiere of season 8! 👸🐉🧟♂️⚔️🙌
1. Vacation! Headed to Prague in May ✈️
2. Willingness to learn new things
3. I just got a promotion! Proud to see the results of my hard work.
4. Thanks for the tag @Chrissyreadit ☺️ @adnama82
I don‘t read Jodi Picoult books often, but when I do, I expect an emotional roller coaster. Unfortunately, for me, that wasn‘t what I found in this book. A Spark of Light is obviously a well researched and thought provoking story; however it almost felt like facts were being thrown at me so often that I couldn‘t develop a connection with the characters. I‘m also not quite sure how I feel about timeline. Overall, this was an ok read for me.
On Saturday I attended my first ever #NashvilleLitsyMeetup 🥳 Honestly, I had a blast meeting fellow Littens, exploring the Nashville Public Library and talking about books. Thank you all for a fantastic time (and all the bookish goodies ☺️)!! Absolutely cannot wait for the next meetup! #IsItJuneYet
Since finishing The Priory of the Orange Tree, I have had the absolute worst book hangover. I just can‘t get excited about starting another book quite yet. 😩
I am absolutely head over heels in love with every part of this story. I literally just finished it so I haven‘t even had a moment to gather all my thoughts. What I do know is that this is hands down one of the best books I have ever read. ♥️🐉
I‘m not one to read romance. I typically avoid it at all cost, but when I heard that this story was about a woman with Asperger‘s who wanted to get better at intimacy, I was intrigued. To my surprise, I couldn‘t put the book down! It was funny, sexy and romantic, albeit a little far fetched at times, but it was cute so I could forgive some of that. The characters were well developed and the story was captivating. Overall this was a very fun read!
Oh my gosh!! @LeahBergen I love my gifts!! Thank you so much for everything! I absolutely loved it all (especially the tote, the magnetic bookmark and the cute little matryoshka index flags). OH and the tea!! How cute is that?! Also I can‘t wait to dive into these books! They are perfect!! K
Thanks again!! You did a fantastic job!! Happy Valentine‘s Day!! 💝
Once Upon a Time, @TorieStorieS sent me the most magical gift! I absolutely loved everything you picked out for me. The handmade bookmarks are lovely & I adore the Book Gizmo! How did you know I needed a magical notebook for work? I can‘t wait to read these books! THANK YOU so much! 🦄 💫 👑
P.S. I just realized I forgot to put the hot chocolate and stirring spoon in the picture, but I loved those as well! 🥰☕️
1️⃣. I thought ACOTAR and the Shatter Me series were overrated 🤷♀️
2️⃣. Both 🍿🍫
3️⃣. Nancy Jane & Dewey Earl (both deceased) and Danya Kay & Billy Charles
4️⃣. Robin Hood (the Disney movie) 🦊
5️⃣. Domestic: Seattle / International: Edinburgh ✈️
Started this year off with a bang! 7 out of 50 is pretty darn good, if I do say so myself 🎉
New Authors to Me: Taylor Adams, Alex Michaelides, Tayari Jones
Favorite Read of the Month: In An Absent Dream
I liked this one, but didn‘t love it. While it was thought provoking, I didn‘t connect with any of the characters. I actually felt myself more drawn to secondary characters (Olive, Big Roy, Carlos) than I did Little Roy, Celeste or Andre. I understand that the situation was difficult no matter which way you looked at it, I couldn‘t for the life of me understand Celeste‘s actions at the end. Overall, it was a good engaging read.
1. This book made me want to vomit 🤮
2. I work from home full time so I eat at home 🏡
3. Probably my hair from K - 10th grade 👩🏻🦱
4. Anything citrusy and the ocean breeze 🍊🌊
5. The Pink American 💕 🇺🇸 🤣
A thrilling finale to The Illuminae Files trilogy! For some reason I didn‘t love this story as much as the first two. Maybe it‘s because I waited so long to pick it up? I‘m not sure, but I wasn‘t as invested in the characters and at times the story seemed to drag a bit. Overall though, I have to say it was a solid ending and I still highly recommend the series!

🔹 Pajamas...I work from home so pajamas are a must!! To be honest I wear “loungewear” (aka pajamas that look don‘t look like pajamas) 90% of the time 😂🤣
🔸 Books...goes without saying 📚
🔹 Netflix...I hardly ever watch cable anymore (unless it‘s hockey). 📺
❤️ Tea or Cocoa
💜 Conversation Hearts..my fav!
❤️ Bookmarks, book covers, candles

💜 I have two precious senior doggos (Lillie and Khloe). They‘re my Valentines!
I seem to be in the minority on this one, but I found #TheSilentPatient to be just ok. I didn‘t connect with any of the characters and while I typically love psychological thrillers, this one really dragged for me. It did have a few decent twists and turns, but overall this one was just “meh”.
While I enjoyed #Voices , I didn‘t love it as much as #Bull 🤷♀️ I feel like if I would have known more about Joan of Arc‘s story going into the book, I would have liked this one more. I did think the format of the book was lovely. The story was told in different formats of verse by Joan as well as other people and objects she encountered in her life. At times the verse on the page was even in the shape of the object telling the story.
When I‘m not reading, I‘m thinking about books! 😜
Here are some of my #MostAnticipated #January2019 releases 🤓📚

Thanks you so much for my gifts!! I absolutely loved everything! I can‘t wait to tear into this chocolate (and the book of course 🤣). Happy Holidays!! 🎄🎁🥳
After finishing #Bull I was in the mood for more #DavidElliott 🤓 I picked up an #ARC of #Voices at YallFest this year. It tells the story of the last hours of Joan of Arc‘s life. The story is told in #verse by Joan as well as other people and objects in her life. I‘m almost halfway through and truly enjoying this read!
