So I posted my Hoopla list for @24in48 a day ago. This in my print pile. The ugly library book is tagged. It‘s a challenge from @Trashcanman and in the hugger is my #lmpbc #groupM title I‘m half way through. I also have 2 graphic novels for #groupU, my #makemereadit title, and then just brain fun.

Trashcanman Oh my God I forgot the name of the book Im going to read. Do you remember? 📖📙😒 3d
Shakespearience Can‘t wait to hear your thoughts on our graphic novels 😁 3d
LibrarianRyan @Shakespearience one of them I‘ve read and loved already so I‘m excited for the reread. The other looks fun. 3d

I have officially been to the post office. I mailed out a #makerswap replacement package, some #barcode prizes and #LMPBC #groupU. So kittens be watching your mail. They all went out media mail.

catiewithac That's nice of you to send a replacement package! I've had 2 swap no-shows and it's always so sad. 1w
LibrarianRyan @catiewithac this is the first time I‘ve had a no show. I‘ve sent replacement packages for others. I actually have 1 no show and 2 missing in transit packages right now. I‘m hoping the missing in transit packages show up this week. 1w
TheBookHippie I‘m headed to the post now!!!! I‘ve lost packages before so frustrating and I had more than one take forever!!! Ugh... 1w
Chrissyreadit You are very sweet. ❤️❤️❤️ 1w

Well, I finished my read(s) for #LMPBC and still have a month left. I am not sure if I send it now or wait, but it was definitely a very good read and I hope the rest of #GroupO will enjoy it. Also, I am not sure how it happened, but I ended up reading a graphic novel with similar themes for #GroupU (also really good). If you want to read more diverse/LGBT themed books, I highly recommend both of these! #lgbtreads #bbrc #yeahbaby #goodreadsfind

LibrarianRyan Love Prince. I mailed my group u a few minutes ago. 1w
Shakespearience @LibrarianRyan So we can mail them as soon as we are done? Do we just use order from the email we got from @suvata (I remember seeing something about “1 mails to 2. 2 mails to 3...”) 1w

Jerdencon Looking forward to reading it! 1w
TheBookHippie Yay!!! 1w
TheBookHippie @Shakespearience I was just going to find that email ! 1w
suvata You can mail it early if you want. I don‘t think anyone would complain. It‘s just that the deadline is the last day of the month (or earlier if you prefer 🙃)! 1w

Since this is my #LMPBC #groupU read I will not say much but I loved it. Can‘t wait to read the next volumes.

First read of July done!

#nancydrewchallenge #fantasy

hannah-leeloo I love the dark crystal. My husband treated me to the Jim Henson novel of this that goes to the set I have including the labyrinth. Can't wait to read it. Happy reading hun. And @Jackal121 look, yay! 3w
LibrarianRyan @hannah-leeloo I have quite a few Labyrinth and DC books. I just havent read them yet. the #LMPBC was a great reason to get started. Do you have the Story Tellers collection? 3w
hannah-leeloo @LibrarianRyan i haven't as of yet as they are on my wishlist, they look really promising and can't wait to have them to add to my other Jim Henson's. I love his books. 3w

When there is a sale at Office Depot there is even more of an excuse to stock up on new pens and sticky notes for the next round of #lmpbc It doesn‘t help when your graphic novels for #GroupU arrive as well. Choosing is going to be tough, but maybe not as tough as waiting! #graphicnovels #tbr

LibrarianRyan I know. and now I will have to go to office depot. 1mo
Shakespearience @LibrarianRyan I should clarify that it wasn‘t like a store-wide sale so much as these items were conveniently on sale. 1mo

So after some poking around Goodreads and Amazon these are the four I have narrowed down to, if you would like to help me pick. #GroupU #LMPBC
1. Relish by Lucy Knisley (cooking AND comics, yes please).
2. Nimona by Noelle Stevenson (adventure!)
3. Lumberjanes V 1 (awesome girls, friendship, weird things in the woods)
4. The Prince & The Dressmaker by Jen Wang (a new fairy tale)

TheBookHippie 4-2-1-3 my likes in order 📖❤️ but any is fine ! I‘m so excited! 1mo
Shakespearience @TheBookHippie I know! They all sounded great to me! 1mo

LibrarianRyan I have read all of them but Relish. However, the Prince and the Dressmaker is such a wonderful tale. I tell everyone under the sun to read it. It's a Litsy award winner (i wont lie, nominated by me), it has won other inclusivity awards. I would so read it again, and again, and again. But Pick any. None of these are bad. 1mo
Shakespearience @LibrarianRyan good to know! It sounded wonderful when I read the synopsis. It will likely end up being The Prince or Relish. I am a big foodie so that one really spoke to me. 1mo
DGRachel I've read Lumberjanes and Nimona (I actually have a subscription to Lumberjanes individual issues!), so I vote for Relish or Prince, but I could totally reread the other two, as well. :) 1mo

I'm really excited about a graphic novel/manga group! I only have 1 unread graphic novel in my house and it's too big to ship, so I hope it's okay to offer up a manga selection. These are all first volumes. If none of these work, I can always run over to my local used bookstore and see what else they have. #LMPBC #Round6 #GroupU
I'll tag the other two in the comments.

LibrarianRyan Fruits basket is a classic, and part of what really started Manga here in the US. There were some really key series that brought Manga from back gaming rooms to store fronts and libraries. Vol 1 can be hard to find, so I vote for this. I've read some, but they were all way down the series line like volume 18 or so. 1mo

TheBookHippie It‘s fine by me!! 1mo
Shakespearience I would prefer Inubaka! I have read Fruits Basket a number of times and while I love it, I am not sure I would have much to add in terms of discussion. 1mo
DGRachel I had no idea that Vol 1 Fruits Basket is hard to find! I am super happy, then, that I got my hands on it. How about this, since I'd prefer no one had to reread unless they wanted to - Inubaka is short - why don't I send both and then you can chose to read either on or both depending on your schedule. Would that work? @LibrarianRyan @Shakespearience @TheBookHippie 1mo
Shakespearience @DGRachel that works for me. Most manga is pretty quick to read anyway. 1mo
LibrarianRyan @DGRachel I can read the Inubaka. To be honest I don't know if Fruits basket is still hard to find (I haven't looked) but when I was still a public librarian it was. So choose what ever is best for the group. I can do anything. 😁 1mo
TheBookHippie @DGRachel works good for me!!! 1mo
bullbunny @LibrarianRyan I don't think it is with the Collectors Edition have 2 manga's in one 1mo
bullbunny Fruitd Basket is my favorite so happy they rebooted the anime too ^^ 1mo
DGRachel @bullbunny I saw something about the anime, which is why I really want to get this off my TBR and onto my Read pile! 1mo
bullbunny @DGRachel they're doing the whole manga series. So you have time to read and then watch ^^ 1mo
Serotonin Inubaka and Her Majesty‘s Dog...I haven‘t seen those titles in a while. Good picks! 👍 3w

Paper Girls: Book One | Brian K. Vaughan
post image

Hello ladies. Thanks for joining me. I would like to start with saying I think we should agree not to write in the books. Use tabs and notes at the end maybe. I normally don‘t mind writing in books, but GN are so much about the artwork. However if you all feel differently, I will move as you want.

Here are some I currently have down stairs. I also have Snot Girl and a few others upstairs.

#LMPBC #GroupU

Paper Girls has 3GN in one Book.

DGRachel I agree with not writing in the books. I haven‘t read any of your selections, but I‘d have to vote for either Dark Crystal or Labyrinth. 😍 1mo
TheBookHippie I agree with not writing and I‘ve not read any, so I‘m open ! 1mo
BethM Is this something I can join? 1mo
LibrarianRyan @BethM our official #groupU is full but I would be happy to share my title for an additional read when it comes back. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/5080444aead2ca0ff2-litsy6 has all the the other groups, there are still a few openings in other categories. A few minutes ago there were spots still light nF and creature feature. Maybe a few others. It‘s run by @suvata 1mo
BethM Thanks! 1mo
Shakespearience I was planning on tabs/sticky notes anyway. I read more manga than graphic novels, so all of these are unknown to me :) 1mo
LibrarianRyan @shakespearience @TheBookHippie @DGRachel why don't I pick the Dark Crystal. It's one of my fav moives, and NetFlix has a new series coming out August 30. That's not based on this book, it based on the YA series Shadow of the Dark Crystal. I think this is based on the original sequel Brian Frond was working on ages ago. https://youtu.be/zSV42j8lccg (new trailer) Here is a bad trailer to the original Jim Henson Movie. https://youtu.be/wW23YcaB 1mo
TheBookHippie @LibrarianRyan sounds good!!! 1mo
DGRachel Perfect!! 1mo
RaimeyGallant How about a book mark you can write on instead? 1mo
LibrarianRyan @RaimeyGallant that is a cool idea. 1mo
RaimeyGallant Any old piece of cardstock will do. :) 1mo
