I was going to start this audiobook today but it‘s 24 hours and I cannot make that commitment today. I think I‘ll return this and check it out another time.

#TooMuch #NotCommited

Prairiegirl_reading Wil Wheaton‘s memoir is 24 hours long? Am I the only one who thinks that‘s excessive? There must be a mistake there somewhere. 2mo
Bookjunkie57 @Prairiegirl_reading I thought it was excessive too. 2mo
Eyelit @Prairiegirl_reading @Bookjunkie57 so he basically takes his memoir written in 2005 and annotates it… and then adds a few extra blog posts and speeches at the end. I never read the original memoir so all this was new to me and it mostly works in audio - but I did feel like it was overly long and his original memoir did not age well (which he acknowledges - a lot) 2mo
Bookjunkie57 @Eyelit interesting. I didn‘t even know there was an original so I am intrigued. 2mo

Mehso-so

I enjoyed the first 2/3 of this (once I got over the absurdity of the hospital releasing her in her condition) but then it became #toomuch
Too ridiculous
Too convoluted
Too hard to believe
I guess I wanted a little more depth. Still, it was entertaining and contains several truth bombs about our image obsessed society.

I read the whole thing because I kept feeling like I was about to get the story I was promised but it never quite materialized. Our cast is at a resort in Switzerland when nuclear bombs (with no real explanation) fall all over the world. Are they the last people alive? If that's not enough for them to deal with the body of a child is discovered a couple weeks into their ordeal. Who is she? Was she murdered? If so is one of them a murderer? If ⬇️

bookandbedandtea Darn! I was in the mountains and apparently my additional comment got lost in the ether. I'll try again. If the author had limited herself to those two storylines I'd have liked it better. Instead we also had: a cursed/ haunted hotel with all kinds of crazy backstories; an (off screen) attempted rape; people acting suspiciously due to another crime, which was completely unnecessary and only muddied the waters; & rumors of cannibals in the forest! 2y
bookandbedandtea PLUS the reveal of what actually happened to the girl was bananas! There was just #toomuch going on. 2y

There are not enough hours in the day for me to get through my proposed October TBR, but I‘m all for trying. I may be buying copies of a couple more of my print books on audio. 😂 #settingmyselfupforfailure #toomuch #sleepisfortheweak #screamathon

MelissaSue81 That‘s a lot of books! 4y
DGRachel @MelissaSue81 25. It would be my best month ever if I got through them all. 4y
MelissaSue81 @DGRachel - 25ish is where I was at for June-August but I can‘t put that many on a list because I have to leave lots of space for whatever I might feel like/comes up on library holds, etc. I think I have around 10 left on my #TBR.. the rest is #TBD 😂 4y
