Adding another #SeriesLove2024 to my May reading - at times I do get my story lines crossed (so many quaint villages, close knit neighbors and mysterious deaths to keep track of 😉)

Make a great day everyone 🌞

Finished yesterday for #SeasonalCozies I am afraid this just wasn‘t a good book. It‘s a risk I take when I go for first in series, cheap or free (this was a Kindle Unlimited title) but it‘s disappointing nonetheless. I went between wanting to shake & throat punch the MC who was kind of an idiot. Then there was the dialogue which was not even close to natural. I highlighted a part where the⬇️

DebinHawaii … the male love interest needlessly mansplained dry ice to the MC but then I returned the book without writing it down. Just bad. I won‘t be reading the next one. There‘s better gardening cozies out there!

It's been awhile since I read a book in this series, but I remembered the other three I read. Usually when you get into the fourth book in a series, it's usually a dud. I did think this one was, though I don't think it was as good as the first or second one.

I do wonder how much can really happen to a family? Then I think, to myself, it's fiction. I kind of liked the hillbilly drug clan that Caine had in this book. ⬇️

A nice twist on the Sherlock Holmes story. Charlotte Holmes doesn‘t want to marry and does something that ruins her and her family‘s reputation to prove it. She leaves home and meets an interesting woman and becomes her “lady‘s maid.” In truth, they set up shop to do something completely unexpected. #SeriesLove2024 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView

3rd book finished for #AwesomeApril, thanks to this great audiobook recommendation by @kwmg40. An excellent audiobook read by one of my favourite narrators, Simon Vance.

This book does a good job of launching this fantasy series and I look forward to moving onto book 2 in the series. Even better it is available as a free download if you are a member of Audible.

AlaMich I liked his Sarantine Mosaic books too. Unfortunately, the two other books of Kay‘s that I started just weren‘t for me. 11h
Andrew65 @AlaMich I will check that out, thanks 😊 10h
BarbaraJean I LOVED this trilogy! Had it recommended to me by my medieval lit professor in college, during a class on Arthurian myths and legends. It's one of those many books I want to re-read but haven't gotten to! 9h

Book 10 in the No. 1 Ladies Detective Series (#SeriesLove2024) has Mma Ramotswe‘s precious tiny white van dying. As usual, this read was such a comfort. I enjoy spending time with these characters. And we finally learn the name of the second apprentice, Fanwell.

Lisette Lecat does a wonderful job narrating these books.

Andrew65 Love this series. Well done 👏👏👏 14h

This has been my least favorite in the series. Mrs. Hooper dies mysteriously and all of the neighbors in Finch suspect one another, but protect one another because they did not like Mrs. Hooper (big gossip and trouble maker). Lori (MC) is out to find the truth with the help of Nicholas Fox, the vicars nephew. I still like the characters but in this one Lori has a “wandering eye“ for Nicholas, her husband accepts it, nothing happens but ⬇️

bthegood ...it seemed childish and not necessary for the plot or a cozy. The rest of the storyline, death and gossip and clearing the air between neighbors, was good. Will definitely continue with the series.
7/22 for #SeriesLove2024
