Hello fellow Litens,
I am trying to make a return to Litsy. I remember back in the day there used to be a list for new Litens to help them connect faster. Is there still such a thing?
Happy reading! 🤓📖♥ï¸ðŸ‚

Some of these works of art are really beautiful. It was a fun idea to compile these images from various time periods on the same topic into a book. The diversity of the subject was limited to age. It would have been more interesting if the author had included more current artwork with subjects of women of color and women of different religions besides Christianity.
Bookshop browsing…. Not sure why I gravitated to this! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
#ForeverNovember Day 12: 2019 was my year of reading only #Women authors, and I have done a round-up of my progress and my key take-aways from this experience as can be seen above. More here: https://wp.me/pDlzr-leR
I enjoyed reading this book and discovering beautiful paintings and photographs of women reading.
However, I would have liked more context about the art. Also more about the evolution of reading for women. It would also have been interesting to have more contemporary works, with thus more female artists.
Seen in the wild at Bookpeople. We sure are! 😼

Post a cover you love for 7 days with no explanation
Came across this pic online and really liked it. There‘s nothing like being surrounded by books.

Happy #internationalwomensday!
Read women! Happy International Women‘s Day.
My reading this year hasn't been that 'intentional', and as a result I've probably read more white, male authors than planned. I really like this #readingwomenchallenge list of prompts, so think I'll get back on track by throwing myself into this one for 2019. Full details at https://www.readingwomenpodcast.com/reading-women-challenge-2019/
Getting my list together for #readingwomenchallenge2019, here‘s how it‘s shaping up so far. I‘m probably going to start with #10, as it‘s the category I‘m least excited about.

New sticker for my kindle case! (Check out fabfeministart on instagram) I also ordered the tagged book friday :P
I‘m excited to join this challenge for 2019. I love the prompts and also supporting some Littens who are also podcasters. More info here: https://www.readingwomenpodcast.com/reading-women-challenge-2019/
It‘s a delightful book, full of little blurbs to help you catch all the nuances of the paintings. I loved it.
My boyfriend and I did some rearanging this weekend. It was a lot of work, but I'm really proud of the result. It kind of feels like I have my own little bookshop at home 😊
Litsy‘s back!!! Yah! The above is “In the pergola†by Oscar Bluhm.
And both of @thereadingwomen were at the Min Jin Lee talk. Good thing because I read Pachinko for one of the items on their challenge - it counts either for immigration or Reading Women shortlist for 2017! Also at the talk - two women from my in-person book club. Pachinko is our read for June.
I read a library copy of the tagged book & loved it so much I needed my own copy. Arcadia has the double stamp of approval from @Kalalalatja & @Moray_Reads

Went to big fancy central library branch. Can you tell I had fun? ðŸ˜
Reading without constant interruptions feels luxurious...I‘m also feeling the itch to travel.
Two reading gifts that I received last night. A book of postcards and a small calendar. Truth be told, it was easy to find a perfect gift for me because I listed them on my Amazon Wish List, made public for just that reason! 😉
The beginning of this book talks about attitudes towards women reading through the centuries. When not an act of piety, it was often portrayed as corrupting or frivolous. What were those women doing alone and what were they thinking?! If you want to know one of the fears people had, Google Pierre-Antoine Baudouin's painting The Reader. The rest of the book features artwork and on the opposing page a description and an analysis of it. #boutofbooks
I just picked this up at the library. I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up buying a copy.
I bought this on a whim during Prime Day because I love the title and the painting used for the cover. Received it today and positively LOVE the inside also. I can't wait to start enjoying the art and ideas inside.
Got this gorgeous book today! 😠Already started flipping through it and I love it!

Saw this painting at Crystal Bridges Art Museum yesterday in Bentonville, Arkansas and thought that is so me minus the cat. I think this was called Woman Reading In Bed. The artist even got the hair correct. 😊â¤ï¸ðŸ“š
#readingwomenmonth @thereadingwomen @kdwinchester
reading #classics or other books makes every woman happy. ðŸ˜
Yes indeed. ðŸ˜
exactly 😠Love this pic. ðŸ˜

Mit welchem der vielen Stapel soll ich denn nur anfangen? Wie viele Bücher habt ihr denn auf eurem Sub?
Which stack should be the first one I start with? How many books do you have on your TBR stack?
I love hanging out at Chaucer's Bookstore in Santa Barbara. Being surrounded by all these beautiful books from floor to ceiling puts a silly grin on my face every time. And unlike my house, every pile of books you see here is in order and categorized by title, author and genre. So grateful for indie bookstores. Rock on, Chaucer's! 😊ðŸ‘🻠📚 #getindie #chaucersbookstore
Found my posse at the Art Institute while vacationing.
