Here are my weekend goals for the #JustOneMoreChapter readathon. I just stared Bride last night, but would love to finish it plus the next two in the queue!! The weather is looking gorgeous and we have a ton of little projects to get done, but I am hoping to squeeze in plenty of reading, too!!

I really liked the mystery, the political intrigue, and the entire world that Hazelwood created.
But the sexual scenes really grossed me out. I'm usually not into overly detailed sexual descriptions, but this one went way beyond what I could handle, and I ended up skipping a lot of it.
Honestly, I think this book would have been much better if they had gotten all hot and bothered and then just closed the bedroom door and left me outside.

Trying to pick my next read. I've had a few bails recently, and the ones I've finished have been meh. Bride was...fine? I enjoyed it, but there were too many cringe moments for me and I'm not inclined to read the companion novel when it comes out. I guess I'm just in a bit of a reading rut.
picki loved this Vampyre Werewolf romantasy book so much! For perspective- even with Onyx Storm/Emperyan hangover and chaos in my personal life (we are all safe ❤️ ) and the illigal takeover of Federal funds that may destroy my fledgling private practice- I thoroughly escaped into this world and loved the unique take on the “tropes”.

My older kids (27m and 22f) think they are sooo funny. We'd gotten into this weird messenger chat about knots (iykyk) a while back after I (and then my daughter) read Bride. So when I opened this gift they said there was a theme. Coffee? No. Then I saw the bookmark, and the 💡came on. The Suffolking Good (so f-ing good) socks and cup were tangentially related - I live in Suffolk. Think they knocked it out of the park this year.

Can't wait to read the rest of your books. I am just not a fan of the bonus chapters you have scattered around of this book 😭. pickThis book is never mentioned anywhere especially for a popular author. Maybe because of the realm it‘s in. If you have any interest in werewolves, vampires, etc, don‘t sleep on this book!!

So, you know when you can tell 100% that the author had a *blast* writing the story? That's how I feel about this book and its author. And it makes the experience so much more memorable. Highly recommend. 🤓 👍

pickAli Hazelwood is an auto-buy author for me, so it‘s no surprise that I enjoyed this! I applaud her for stepping out of her comfort zone to write a paranormal romance, which isn‘t her usual romance sub genre.

2) start on My Roommate Is a Vampire (my #doublespin for this month)
3) complete the other 3 books, which are all pretty short cozies

pickFun and spicy palate cleanser! 🔥I wasn‘t planning to read this until one of my favourite YTubers recommended it on her channel.
The enemies-to-lovers trope isn‘t too strong, but I liked the wry, snarky protagonist. 🦇💜🐺

I know this is the first fantasy book this author wrote but I kind of hope that it‘s also the last 😬
Doesn‘t mean she is a bad writer since I‘ve heard a lot of good things when it comes to her other romance books
so-soThe non-romance part of the plot is fine, though I couldn‘t decide whether the Collateral idea is ridiculous or genius in a very “The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas” way….the romance part manages to be both tedious and gross, sometimes at the same time.
pickI enjoyed Bride more than I thought I would! There were a couple of tropes that annoyed me, but overall, it was a fun read and just what I needed. It kind of gave me Patricia Briggs vibes, but more playful and romantic.
pickI was pleasantly surprised by this book. Maybe it‘s the science nerd in me but I caught myself smiling at this book more than once. Interesting twist on the typical vampire/shifter romance. I hope there is another book exploring some of the other characters.

so-so⭐️⭐️ Forced proximity werewolf - vampire romance. Paranormal stuff is FAR out of my wheelhouse, but I‘ve enjoyed Hazelwood‘s #steminist rom-coms, so decided to give this a try. I don‘t know, y‘all. I was pretty okay until the knot. #iykyk.
so-soI didn't care for the characters at all. I am glad that I read it. Just not one of my favorite books by the author. I rated this book a 2 out of 5 stars.
So much gardening happened today. I‘m so tired. So happy hour is happening on the back porch with a cocktail from a can, another book started despite not finishing the others yet ( I need light, no brain action required and I can take in the tub aka not a library book) happy almost the weekend
