Definitely a slow burn but it had enough unanswered questions to keep me interested. The suspense didn‘t come until the final few chapters. Not my fave from these authors but still enjoyable.
Finishing this book gave me a bingo! #bookspinbingo

I liked this one. The biggest plot twist was predictable, but the other smaller ones were a big surprise. I couldn't stop reading. I would love to read a novella from just Avery's perspective. She seems... invested... like obsessively invested.

I enjoyed this one. Although it did flash through my mind briefly...I didn't really think the big reveal would actually be that. It creeps me out when I start wondering: "Can you ever really know someone?"

An enjoyable enough listen, but not very memorable, original, or surprising. 🎧
Another book this week that kept me up reading! I was skeptical about how gripping a story could be about a couple and their unconventional therapist, but I did not expect the number of twists and turns and where it all led. This was my first book by these authors although I own a few, and I‘m so excited to read more. It had my heart racing, and I loved the audiobook narrator as she had the perfect tone that had me leaning in for more.
This is one of the best thrillers I‘ve read this year. If you like psychological mysteries that will keep you guessing, this book is perfect for you. 5-stars
From the Publisher:
If Avery Chambers can‘t fix you in 10 sessions, she won‘t take you on as a client. Her successes are phenomenal–she helps people overcome everything from domineering parents to assault–and almost absorb the emptiness she sometimes feels since her husband‘s death.
A lot happened while I read this (my oldest graduated from college!), so it took me a while to read. And because of that, I kept forgetting who some minor characters were. Overall I liked it, but I‘ll probably read it again in a few years with no memory of having already read it.
Ehh... that is how I feel about this book. Don't live it, don't hate it just ehh.
#atticus2016 #SirWatson these two look like the golden couple but this picture was taken about a minute before that big red ball was dropped on the cat and the fight began.
Well snap, here I thought I had it all figured out but I was quite wrong. This was such a great novel, twisting and turning. Run, don‘t walk to pick this one up (or download it). Excuse me while I go deal with the book hangover I now have. Book #29 in 2022
I really enjoyed this one, the twists and turns had me guessing all the way to the end! So happy to have read it!

I have heard some good things about this one. I just downloaded it to be my next #AudioCommute book (Also fits a prompt for my 52 Books Challenge)
I'm not super intro thrillers but I really enjoyed this one. I didn't see some of the plot twists, and the ending left me reeling. I loved how all the characters were connected in ways you couldn't imagine.
The premise was interesting and I think the authors could have done more with it. I enjoyed the read, but there were some unnecessary plot points. Marissa did start to get on my nerves a little by the end. Overall, a decent thriller.
I'd say this was better than ok but not as great as it could have been. The twists were pretty easy to see coming if you were looking for them and the storyline was a bit on the "seen it all before" side of things but it was enjoyable and a pretty quick read once I got going.
#ThingsInCommon Secrets in the Cellar + The Golden Couple = Published in the month of March

This was a twisty thriller that kept me guessing right up until the final chapters. I loved the alternating chapters between the wife and the therapist - a departure from the more predictable husband and wife-told stories. This might be their strongest novel yet. 4/5 stars

When Marissa Bishop and Matthew Bishop are struggling in their marriage, Marissa is advise by one of her friend to contact Avery for counseling.
Avery has a new methods, which consists of 10 sessions. Avery has no idea that session after session, the Bishop's are hiding many more secrets.
An entertaining read that will have you guessing and hook from page one until the very end.
This is the 1st book I‘ve physically read by these authors; I‘ve listened to the others. I enjoyed the pace of this one and the two female narrators. The story ended up going in a direction I wasn‘t expecting which is nice. I live in MD so it was cool to read about this couple in the DC area. There were a couple annoying supporting characters but that‘s expected in a book like this. If you enjoyed the authors previous books you will like this one.
All I can say is wow! This is a page turning suspense. I don‘t want to give anything away so I won‘t say more. But this kept me riveted and I‘m glad I took a chance on this one! #readingchallenge2022
Appearances lie. Looks can be deceiving. You will never know what‘s inside the mind of another person. These are the themes of this book, The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks and Sarah Pekkanen. Reading it on audio, I find it really good and the narrators (Karissa Vacker and Marin Ireland) are incredible. Their passion and enthusiasm 👇
April 4, 2022 Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen. Oh boy... they deserve a round of applause. I was turning page after page once I got halfway through the book. I wantes to desperately know who was in charge of all the things that were happening to "the Golden Couple". Was it Skip? Was it Polly? What about Natalie? Or maybe Chris (Marissa's father-in-law)? I am not gonna say a word. You NEED to pick this up and read it 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So good! I really enjoy this writing duo…they are auto-buy for me. Until the very end, I had no idea what was really going on or which characters, if any, could be trusted. Lots of twists and turns!

Oh this was a fun one. I tip to the losing side when it comes to guessing the ending of a good mystery/thriller so I don‘t even try. But even still, I love it when the twisty turns confirm that had I tried to solve the mystery, my weight on the losing scale side would scrape the ground!
One of the biggest perks of working from home is that when things are slow I can get away with reading on the clock, and today was a win/win because it felt like I started my weekend with a bang 😆. I was almost surprised by how much I enjoyed this twisty ride! One of the better thrillers that #BOTM has picked in recent memory, and definitely this duo's best collaboration yet imo! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“Wealthy Washington suburbanites Marissa and Matthew Bishop seem to have it all―until Marissa is unfaithful. She wants to repair things for the sake of their eight-year-old son and because she loves her husband. Enter Avery Chambers.
Avery is a therapist who lost her professional license. Still, it doesn‘t stop her from counseling those in crisis, though they have to adhere to her unorthodox methods.”
Out of all the books I've read from these authors this was my favorite. It was interesting and I thought the characters were well-developed. These two are really settling into a groove with churning it great books!

This may just be my favorite book by these authors. An intense look at a therapist, who has her own demons, and her unorthodox methods for helping her clients. If you‘re like me you won‘t see where this story is headed at all…I was took. The narration is also perfectly performed.
Fans of domestic thrillers, family drama, and characters with secrets will enjoy this book.
It is an addictive read that you won‘t want to put down.
Enjoy!! It is a good one!! 5/5

4/5 stars. 2 authors wrote a great book!!! Main characters were interesting and I enjoyed reading about their journey in life.
Part three bombshell… when I tell you my jaw dropped, my jaw practically unhinged!! #shouldbeworking #thrilleraddiction
What kind of monster puts black beans in their brownies?!
This was a fun, easy read that I had to put down last night in order to get some sleep. I picked it up again this morning as I had to finish it - a sign of a good thriller. It has great characters and twists and a satisfying ending. This is one of those books that while it will not make you smarter, is great entertainment and sometimes that is enough. I gave it 4.25/5.
My goal for this year is to read my BOTM selections in the same month I get them! I was really excited to read this one and I wish I had read the others by the two authors already! I really enjoyed it and there was twist after twist. I definitely plan to read the other novels by them!
